$7500 for a modified Pinto. Whoopie. You could buy a nice '80s-90s 5.0 Mustang for less money.

Way overpriced but at least its a good example and not a rotting pile of scrap. Guy's going to have to cut the price by like 3 grand before it becomes reasonable though.

Ya, there were even some '81 wagons, specifically for the US Postal Service.

(haven't seen this documented, but I heard it through an acquaintance that did Ford fleet sales back then that the USPS placed an order for Pinto wagons in '80 and they were titled as '81s because it was at the end of the production run).

American version of the Escort came in for model year 1981, so yeah, Pinto was 1971-1980.
