I'm going to get into my 1968 Ford Camaro* and dive down there right now and kick some ass. * it's got to be a Ford since it has racing stripes right?

Many publications and tv shows make errors like this. Yesterday a news show was doing a retrospective on cars and their sex appeal in movies. They covered a variety of movies and identified the cars correctly until a movie with Natalie Wood, and they show what is so obviously a 49 era Mercury, which is an iconic car. The narrator identified it as an ugly Chevrolet, but the way Natalie was leaning against it and her co-star stabbing the tire with a knife by her leg was very suggestive and sexy.

That's Rebel Without a Cause from 1955, starring James Dean. Not only is the car iconic, unquestionably the movie is too. Jackass 'journalism' at it's best. Makes me want to drop a '49 Merc off a jack onto the torsos of these journalists, so they can scream up at the Mercury hood emblem and learn something worth knowing for a change.
