In a recent issue of a Classic car mag (MT Classic or Hemmings)

there's mention of how a Boat tail Riviera existed because Chevy

could not build a 4-passanger Corvette.

It's kind of a silly comparison but it made me think of a good

trivia question.

What car came out in the 1950s & was produced for almost two

decades, was powered by a small V8 & had a styling feature that

is now most often associated with the 1963 Corvette Stingray?

Not the Avanti.

About a year and a half ago a fellow member of C&G

reported one of these cars for sale down in Florida,

probably one of only 3 or 4 existing in the USA.

You're not referring to the Tatra are you?
Yup, that was Mr. Fly and I think the car was a Tatra.

Yup. A black Tatra 603 was for sale two streets down from me. Decent condition given its rarity and age, but the guy wanted $10,000 for it, mainly to recoup the costs of importing the car. I would've likely bought it if he asked $5k or under but, you know, what are the chances of that?

There is also one in the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum, something I had no idea existed until three weeks ago.

Don't ask me my but I thought the 2nd gen. Saturn sedans

had a Tatra look to them from the front.... maybe the inboard

running lights. :P

Did they use a Tatra in that Jim Carrey movie "A Serious of Unfortunate Events" (or some similar title)? I know there's a '60 Imperial limo in that movie but there's another car that I can't quite put my finger on in there. I've only seen the movie once in theaters so I only got a couple of glances at the other car.
