2007 Buick LaCrosee Super

Recommended Posts

I think it was discussed in the 2007 LaCrosse and 2007 Allure topics that the LaCrosse Super wasn't going to come out for 2007--it'll be a 2008 model for the last MY of this generation LaCrosse.

Oh I see, is it coming out at the end of the year? Or will it be an early 2008 model?

and a Grand National powertrain. <_<

I don't know why anyone is trying to make this more than it is--the 5.3 goes into a W-Body: Been there, done that.

I guess I'll have to wait for a redesign to get excited.

It blows my mind that this couldn't have been introduced for MY 2007. What is the delay? I mean it's not as if GM is creating the 5.3 and 4T65 from scratch. It's already been in the 2005 GXP and 2006 GXP and Impala/Monte. GM is going to be late to it's own funeral for goodness sakes!

Why would they release it as a 2008 when the new LaCrosse comes as a 2009? I call bull$h!...there won't be a Super until MY2009, if ever.

The EP2 Lacrosse starts production in early 2009 as a 2010. The Super will have almost two full model years on the W-body.

The only reaosn I could see them doing that is maybe to build some 'performance momentum' for the next generation.

You know, kinda like Toyota is doing with the Tundra and NASCAR. The current product isn't all that great, but it WILL build awareness and anticipation for the new one.
