  1. Is there any vehicle that can't turn off lane keep assist or auto braking? @Drew Dowdell @William Maley You two could probably answer that with some real-world experience and the most hands-on experience with modern vehicles.. any insight?

  2. They always are...it's buttons, in most vehicles. But interesting opinion. Just turn things off? Or drive a GM. They give you so little, except for possibly a hidden cash back perk, features are the least of the worry...

  3. I’m too ‘established in my experience’ to have the brakes & steering wheel fighting me for control. Toyota can go F itself; keep them optional/ defeatable or disabable.

  4. They're priced low enough, no rebates neeeded. These are examples GM should study of price it right from the start... And have dealers end up with 2 left, and lists of people waiting for the right combo to come in. Oh, the tragedies of Lane Keep helper...blind spot...or auto stopping? No worries. GM still barely offers any of these "standard on a Corolla" features even on a Cadillac, so one brand group is still safe for you.

  5. Proposing to freeze emissions standards at a future level (2021) is not "relaxing" anything and frankly, achieving 36 composite fleet MPG by 2025 isn't tenable, esp with EVs parked at 2% of the market. That future standard was written when people were still envisioning a tsunami of EV sales; reality is settling in vs. science fiction. In other words; 2025 is too soon for 36 MPG fleet.

  6. It's smart for the consumer of course, but for OEMs already losing thousands per unit- it makes little sense. 1. Selling more of a money-losing product doesn't help the OEM's books. 2. Creating an expectation that 'big discounts' are the norm creates downward pressure on future (hopefully profitable) ATPs. The only thing that is relatively 'safe' in this regard is tax credits- most people don't qualify for the full amount (but it sounds good) and the fact that it's Gov't-issued takes the control of that discount out of the OEM's hands.

  7. Sorry, didn’t mean their stuff was cheap. I meant as having both better deals and smarter priced stuff.....

  9. Went back out to another waterfall this afternoon, Great Falls of Tinkers Creek in Bedford. Several waterfalls are within 20-30 minutes of home. Stopped at Tinkers Creek Tavern for a Lieneklugel and a pretzel on the way home..

  11. Yes, that blue and tan is nice. I also love Lincoln's interesting interior colors. The blue is divine. Luxury cars could be more bespoke because luxury car buyers want to stand out. Lincoln gets a thumbs up for all of their newest interiors. Lincoln wants to be seen as a car for people who come from wealthy families for generations... where Cadillac comes across as too techy and sterile... unwarm.

  12. If you're already sold on an ATS, you're not going to not buy the red one because the plastic in the center is cheap looking. It's the same on all of them. In other words... if you're going to get an ATS, might as well get one with the red interior instead of the black. I like the blue and tan that jeep does on some models.

  13. Remember when Buick did a purple interior and no one bought it? It was just a few years ago. Cadillac did very nice red interiors.... no one bought them.
