was getting oil change today on the chrysler, and they had a loaded gladiator in the showroom. cool truck, a bit tight inside for my liking but size wise fine for small to mid size truck. I didn't like climbing up and in to it. Which of course is ok as an off road machine but as a daily driver I think something with easier ingress and egress and more cabin room would be nice. Really like the split top and i actually would find the truck bed large enough to be useful (haul the snowblower for example).3 points

Google maps via CarPlay...is the BEST nav system I've used in ages. Love it. Driving in the middle of a forest or nowhere, turn on satellite view, great. Tap the voice and just say a business name and always find it while driving? Great. Add a stop along the way? Great. I let Waze run in the background for cops, etc. but Google primarily. More integration...great. Car makers need to stop wasting so much money developing computer systems, and focus on the vehicle. I.E., Acura, etc...millions on "true touch" only for it to be a mess. Just use a screen, get better software, and stop.3 points

One thing that confuses me about the Bolt. It would have cost precisely $0 more to make it look sexy. It could have been a sedan like the Model 3, for slightly lower price, and actually looked good. Or it could have been a proper sized crossover... either way, it would not have cost more for them to build it that way.3 points

Well yes, but you don't think any modern car is sexy, so you don't count. ?2 points

The only things at Chevy I really like and would put in my hypothetically flat driveway are Corvette, Suburban, Tahoe, and Volt.2 points

If the Big Two (plus FCA) "focus" on SUVs, how are the Asians 'going to take the SUV market'? Seems much more likely they'll lose market share.1 point

That gladiator brochure is HILARIOUS; 2 bicycles and they DO NOT FIT in the bed. Can you imagine being an engineer at Jeep, you make this truck w/ bed vehicle, then you automatically have to engineer all sorts of racks & fitments to hold items ABOVE said bed. ? Might as well just have a Gladiator flatbed with a plethora of tie down rings & Jeep-branded straps - it would hold more things.1 point

I think it’s only fair to point out that those SUVs you mention were part of the lemming herd 10-15 years ago (the everything SUV craze). Just sayin’. And I would still take it over any SUV or wannabe SUV out there today. Absolutely bulletproof. Which falls in line with the competition while managing to outsell said competition. I get the hate for it but clearly Toyota is doing something right here.1 point

East fix. Not a worry, and a common recall. The antithesis of Honda (or others) that will never recall anything...but keep doing bulletins..."if the transmission keeps failing...do this...but don't report it". Seatbelt thing. Good. Handled. Recalls aren't bad, it means "oops. Stop. Fix it" Seeing more of these out. Most dealers only have 0-2 though, so that's also good. If you want it, you order it and make a deal. Not 100 sitting everywhere. Good.1 point

I would never own a toyoter, but at least the 4Runner I find palatable in looks. RAV4 is horribly formed tho.1 point

You haven't seen the infamous Chrysler Airflow before? Controversial design but extremely well engineered.1 point
-
1934ish Chrysler Airflow, I believe. The Airflows were a bold move stylistically, helped usher in streamlined designs amidst the early 30s bricks.1 point

RAV 4 is a stylistic disaster. Wheelwell cladding cut short from reaching the rockers is comical, and the front looks like broken shale; too jagged. Dint find the exaggerated underbite attractive either.1 point

Sadly, NOTHING Chevrolet builds right now inspires me to want to own something except one which I have never fit into as an adult. The Corvette is the only thing I still Love, Wish Corvette had a Performance SUV as I would go for that, but the current style of all their auto's SUCK excluding the corvette which as I stated, I CANNOT FIT INTO! ?1 point

Google Maps and Waze are both accessible from CarPlay and Android Auto1 point

At least over at Toyota you can get your Rav4 with off-roady goodness or with a hybrid powertrain.1 point
-
Really? And current Chevrolet vehicles for example are much different? To me this looks as bland and uninspired as anything, generic as they come At least Toyota tried to put some style into the new RAV41 point

How is it underwhelming? It seems it compares very favorably against the rest of the segment. According to fuelly, people seem to get around 35mpg average,1 point

A Stelvio is more than an option...it works. If I one more time hear the GM Derangement of "but there will be rebates". Some people on this forum and in the world are so set in old ways, that's their immediate reply to anyone saying a GM is high priced or under featured. "But there will be rebates". No, not always. It's just overpriced and not great. Go see what's on the market. Here's a $50k Stelvio...NO WAY, in any way shape or form, vs. any $50k Blazer...should anyone ever buy a Blazer when things like this exist, and real world, is just a different level of vehicle, drive quality, features, etc. If it's too special for you...spend less...and go get a loaded Grand Cherokee, Edge, etc... https://www.alfaromeousaofdowningtown.com/new-Malvern-2019-Alfa+Romeo-Stelvio-Sport-ZASPAKAN6K7C31682 More important...if everyone stuck in GM world wants to keep saying "but there are rebates...". Sure. Go compare an actual transaction price and lease payment, real world. May be alarmed. I've yet to see any of these have any semblance of a "deal" GM over thinkers want to keep claiming. Those base & LT 2.5L ones are set for Enterprise, before long, as will the high end $50k ones.1 point
