Not when only EV sales are concerned. Ill give you the over all vehicle sales argument in the market place. But even you got to admit, amongst all EV cars/models/brands out there, Tesla is the one that is king of the jungle.

Went and saw Bob Dylan in concert Saturday night. Great show. He has a great touring band, all electric, no acoustic. Always liked him, had never seen him.

My gig may be up at the end of the year...but it will probably get extended another year. I do like working remotely and get along great w/ my client of the last 5 years. My client is working to move away from the software platform I've been developing applications on (they are tired of IBM's byzantine licensing model) and want to move most of development to the Barbados and India teams, but are so inept with managing product rollouts that they will be lucky to migrate off of IBM in a year... I've had inquiries from several recruiters about financial and insurance sector software dev jobs here in the Cleveland area, so I'm not too worried, but I do love working from home 100%, esp. weeks like this with heavy snow in the forecast.

Maybe GM and Ford can do the same thing and cut sedan prices across the board. CUVs are the hot things now.

Yeah. I'm possibly losing my job by the end of the year. I've been there 13 years though, so my severance package will be good. I'm not super worried about it. Might even take some time off.

Yes Honda had it on a tiny little car. GM did it on a Full size truck that could HAUL and the quadrasteer was awesome for trailering. It made it so much easier to backup and turn around when you had a trailer, the longer the easier it became. I question the sales comment as the last year they still sold very well yet not in the large numbers of the rest of the trucks. I think a business case could still have been made to make a Chevy and Cadillac version of a truck like this. @USA-1 I agree with you that the ELR was what GM should have done first at Cadillac but at around a $55,000 to $60,000 price and then roll out the VOLT at Chevrolet.

yeah, it's always been a reasonably competent car. And it's probably the largest interior you can get without going to a full-size, so if you're shopping on square footage, it's the best deal you're gonna get.

The mid gate that the Avalanche (and the Escalade EXT) had was a really good idea. I also thought that QuadraSteer on the GMC Sierra was a great idea too about ten years ago. Too bad both ideas died due to lack of interest and sales.

He's older than me by 3 years so I had to jab him with that! ? I remember those stodgy Peugeot diesels with that saggy back end and a constant black cloud behind them! Ha! Pretty ugly car, but the diesel never stopped running. Ram needs a baby Ram with proper dimensions. The Jeep Gladiator with the funky look of the bed hanging way too far past the back axle and the $50k+ price tag just isn't gonna cut it.

Quadrasteer on the Sierra was awesome, a buddy of mine had one. It was a pretty cool feeling the way the back-end of the truck kind of had a sliding around effect behind you instead of just trailing and the smaller turning radius made it drive like a midsize truck. It was a pretty expensive option and like you stated was never marketed correctly. I wonder how many are actually out there, I still see them with the slightly bulged rear fenders every once in a while. Same thing with the Volt/ELR. They could have had great marketing on them, but never did. Voltec should have started with the expensive but not so expensive ELR then came out with the less expensive 4 door cousin, the Volt a few years later, but the bean counters thought different and were wrong again. The ELR had great fit and finish and was beautiful inside and out, the interior with leather wrapped everything, real wood and real carbon fiber was awesome and blew away the Model S in that regard. They spent hundreds of millions of dollars on the Voltec platform just to kill it 8 years later. I'm sure a version of it will be back at some point, but who knows. Bean counters at GM be damned!

Great technology, but sadly GM like always failed to market it and show the benefits that would justify the cost. Anyone who has driven one of the GMC trucks with Quadra steer knows how easy it is to park those awesome rides. Management stupidity for killing off the Avalanche / Escalade EXT. ?

Looks like a wrap or Plastidip they spray right over the factory paint and you can pretty easily peel them off. It looks like the top is still factory clear though. Looks like a shinier sheen compared to the dull reflection on the hood. Flat black rattle canned the grille. Either way it's low maint. probably doesn't have to wash it by hand all that often, the gray matches the gray your car will be after one run down a soaked Seattle freeway. Pretty funny there are at least 3 gray cars in the pic! That's one thing I don't miss, is that you'll never have a clean car for more than a day in the PNW.

It is way too expensive for what you get... the bed is too small to be useful, which makes it pointless as a truck.

He's not old. BUT... someone should put something in his mouth. ? KIDDING, don't trigger on me! I don't care about the Euro brands in the new conglomerate, although I am not anti-Peugeot, per se. They used to have a decent diesel car back in the day here in America. Since my blood is red, I want to see Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Dodge continue on and on and on. If Dodge/Ram had a smaller truck, I would have looked at it intensely before making a recent decision.

Yeah Yeah Yeah!!! I also like to link youtube vids and /or GIFs I never said the C7 is ho-hum. However...all other Chevy products are on the same level as Toyota...YIKES!!! Now, the way you are defending Chevy, I KNOW you know it to be true. Its OK...I feel your pain.

@dfelt I know that this thread is about car spotting. However, I am amped up about the light rail crossing Lake Washington from the east side suburbs. It will be analogous to BART coming in from the East Bay into S.F. They opened BART in 1972, if I recall.

Looks are subjective. But because Tesla sells the amount they sell, their styling DOES resonate with the people. And THAT would be WORLDWIDE... As we know, for the most part, ugly cars do not sell. Tesla cars sell well. WORLDWIDE over Tesla cars are the most sold EVs. Ugly or not, THAT by definition makes Tesla style have Tesla mojo. In other words, Tesla has its own style and people gravitate towards it. And Tesla having its own style doing things its own way having its own mojo is a very good thing when it comes to BRANDING... Kleenex, Vaseline, Coke, Scotch Tape, Fridgidaire, Crock-Pot, Jet-Ski, Bubble Wrap, Google, Xerox, Amazon... The Tesla brand is fast becoming that kind of brand...if it aint already there... And the Model 3's minimalist approach to its interior (and that is how the Tesla Model S' interior will be too on its next refresh that will be soon enough) is well received by many that buy the Tesla 3. In fact, its a selling point. And a very successful selling point at that. You and I dont like it. But these EV peeps seem to adore it. Plus, you cant argue, Tesla has a very very good product to sale you. It aint all marketing bullshyte and fad of the day internet sensation... The EV technology that Tesla sells you is quite possibly the best there is out there... Plus its charging network that helps with the branding... I know you were NOT the one chastising me for dissing Ferrari VS Ford movie by saying that I dont want to see bullshyte American flag waving nonsense in the movie... but Ill tell you one thing, and others that hate on Tesla... AND ILL DO THE AMERICAN FLAG WAVING HERE. WHICH IS RIGHTFULLY DESERVED IN THIS CASE!!! TESLA IS AMERICAN!!! AN AMERICAN CAR COMPANY THAT IS COVETED ALL AROUND THE WORLD. BE PHOQUING PROUD!!! GM won't do it. They think they're special and price things high only to have to rebate them later.

Hydrogen fuel cell could kill of diesel in bigger trucks, electric will kill it off everywhere else. Combined with emissions standards. Personally I think diesel pickups even the heavy duty ones should be held to the same emissions standards as cars.
