  1. More of the same, shadily-calculated / over-estimated numbers, conjured up out of thin air, that the BEV OEMs too frequently use: >>"Your trucks and equipment are costing your money when they are waiting to be fueled. If you assume getting fuel averages 30 minutes per day, per vehicle, for every time fuel is needed (it's often more) then the waisted time can add up to days or even weeks of lost productivity."<< 30 minutes to pump fuel into a machine - is it a 1000 gal tank?? Nonsense. Then they state that fueling 1 vehicle once per week will "save" you $555 in "annual labor costs"... but of course their site has zero mention of their formula for calculating this or the COST OF THEIR SERVICE. Garbage propaganda. And proofread your website copy; you're trying to get customers here.

  2. Yes, great garden. I really haven't done much gardening, mostly been planting shrubbery in my back yard. My cookie-cutter 1967 split level---2000 sq ft (+ 750 sq ft finished basement), 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 1/4 acre lot, undersized 2 car garage. Wish the garage was bigger, but all in all I've been happy with it the last 4 years I've been here.

  3. Thank you, Yes I live in a basic Split level House built in 1952, total of 1600 sq ft. 4 bedroom 1 3/4 bath on a 1/4 acre pie shape lot in a Cul-D-Sac. Here is from the latest snow storm here this year. Poor SS got caught out in the Snow. ?

  4. See, this actually makes me like your home that much more. House is pretty standard run of the mill post WW 2 housing, but the garden is a fantastic and beautiful focal point. I like it when one strong visual focual point exists to draw your attention. The garden is gorgeous....flat out gorgeous.

  5. The economy moves humanity forward. All we argue is that at the moment EVs, industrial or commercial are not making economical sense. What made humanity move from horses to cars is not the fancy expensive early cars but cheap, accessible to majority of people Model T. Also, while EVs are much more efficient than ICE cars, the battery technology and especially rare materials it requires makes the possibility of truly replacing on a large scale all ICE is a very questionable possibility at the moment. When better battery technology will become COMMERCIALLY and widespread available it might drastically change things. We are not there yet. You can say all you want how much forward thinking man you are, but you not driving an EV vehicle yet. Neither not ONE big supporters of EVs on this forum.

  8. We were also talking about cars in India, not the US but please, keep up the SMK bar moving tactics LOL. Oh and regarding your last sentence, just stop. That argument is absolutely dumb on an epic scale. I like the Corvette too so, by your logic, should I catch hell for not buying one of those as well?

  9. No. On top of what David has said, population density has a lot to do with why folks before the smaller modes of transportation. Look at those pics that David posted for a prime example fo this. And your source pulls up nothing (Statistica) because it wants me to pay to see pain old stats. Mine is based off of simple logic that while there are a fair number of models that START at under $10K, they quickly shoot north of that number with a few options and folks that are shelling out $10K for a car are probably going to be willing to pay for some options to suit them, just like here. Now, the question is how many of those models sold were the sub-$10K ones. The median income in the U.S. is $31K (just north of that) while the average car price is $37K yet cars sell like hotcakes here. What exactly is your point?

  10. So true, I see the NY airport is now looking to confiscate the plane due to the storage cost, repairs needed and Trump ignoring the airport billing. So funny that the so called Billionaire is unable to pay his bills. Seems he is now traveling in a much less luxury style. Photos Reveal Trump's Broken and Grounded Private Plane (businessinsider.com) OUCH, that Rolls Royce engine is not cheap to fix, but for him it should be pocket change. Cheap or broke, interesting and funny. Joke of the day for this:

  13. Quality is very important to me too, but there should be no problem having quality with quantity. I honestly do not get these places that charge for what I would consider a normal size meal for most Americans and they serve you a little tiny bit of food saying quality and experience is better. Not so when you tummy tells ya your still hungry and it is rumbling. I get that everyone has different needs of food, and I get that European eating is very different than American eating. But do not give me this elegant style eating of 2 bites please. Do not forget the nut cracker Glutes!

  16. Two things I wish GM would just get rid of: Active Fuel Management and turbocharged engines. AFM will reduce engine life and bolting a turbocharger to a 4cyl gas engine will do the same for different reasons. Better to get a v6 and save yourself the trouble of significant engine repairs down the line. To be fair: that should apply to every automaker.

  17. Oh, and the Cat 323F Z-line you linked to above costs TRIPLE what the diesel variant does : $680,000. I know that matters not at all to you, but it's a deal breaker for small businesses, and just puts more market share control into big business conglomerates, reducing competition and pricing control. But hey; what's a few tens of thousands of small companies & their employees put out of business, right? After all, "they can always retrain for another industry".

  20. Well.. Consumers wont have a choice... ICE will be banned past 2035... Cry, yell, moan, bitch. Or laugh. ICE is no longer going to be sold past 2035. Oh...your classic V8 car. Yeah...you will be able to own that. Wont be able to daily drive. Probably only on a track or on a "special" 'remember the good 'ole days' day 2 times a year or something...

The right side is living room, kitchen, dining room, 4 steps up from the front hallway and TV room...the TV room is at the same level as the garage, w/ a sliding door leading to the back patio...I have office space in the corner of the TV room and in one of the bedrooms.

  24. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Where does one begin when one has (ASSUMPTION) not ever been to India. I work with plenty of Indian Engineers who will back me up on this having grown up in India. First off the lite population areas are pretty much farming areas and for a population of 1.3 Billion the cities are packed, traffic is packed all the time. Lets also go with a modern map not one from 2001. Plus some web sites so you can check the facts yourselve. India Population 1950-2021 | MacroTrends Here is just the population change from 2000 to 2020, They had 1,056,575,549 people and in 2020 they had 1,380,004,385 people for a gain of 323,428,836 more people. If your up to it, you can review the actual India census info. They last did it in 2011, 2021 is the year for updating detailed census data. Census of India Website : Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India (censusindia.gov.in) Here is the statistical data for the country showing just how populated the country of India is at almost 1.4 Billion people with a land mass of 3,287,263 sq km compared to the US at 9,833,517 sq km or 3 times bigger and yet we only have about 400 million people. So yes the place is very crowded. India population 2020 - StatisticsTimes.com India is a cast system country that has been working very hard to build a middle income class. Usually families will pool together money to send one child to college to get into tech and then expect him to help out the rest of the family to get more members to college. Bikes are common to India, auto's are for the rich. Fact in comparison to the US which is the opposite. Current map from the sites listed of current population by region.

  25. Except, aside from one being ICE and the other being EV, you are not comparing apples to oranges. The Tata EV has far more features, options, AND power than the cheapo models from them. On a side note, The Kai Seltos is a hot seller in India and it is FAR north of $10K, as are a host of others. Models above this price have been trending up in sales with every passing year, so it reasonable to assume that there more folks that can swing that money than you and I realize. https://www.indiatoday.in/auto/cars/story/kia-seltos-sonet-total-sales-at-1-35-295-units-in-2020-1758793-2021-01-13 And while you laugh at my post, you need to remember that in a country where median income is $31K, we have plenty of folks that swing dough out for $100K corvettes and $80K Pick ups. The same logic that applies here also applies in India. Every major city in India is like that (and more than a third of their population in a country of 1.3 billion people). From Bangalore, to Mumbai, to Delhi, they are all packed like this with congested traffic and those three cities alone have almost 30 million people between them

  26. Median income in India is $2120 a year. Please, tell me more that they don't want to buy regular cars and simply prefer to buy bikes.
    1 point
  27. Really? I've heard promises of lower prices on cars for decades now but that has never actually happened. These were the opinions of folks that spoke of this long before the internet age. Corporate promises galore. And "fraction" is a relevant term.

  28. This is not because they PREFER bikes over cars or care much about environment. This is because majority of people CAN'T AFFORD to buy a car and support the expenses. Big differences between people buying electric bikes here and there. Just above in my comment I had a link where it says the majority of India best sellers are well below $10k. Care to show the source of your information?

  29. This is also a country where Bikes (mopeds to motorcycles) outsell auto's by millions. They are selling over a million EV Bikes a year as I posted earlier. The middle income class and up are buying auto's but the size of the country does not favor auto's over bikes in all forms. Having visited India plenty of times with a Team in Bangalore and Pune, I see bikes everywhere compared to auto's.

  31. Wasn’t debating that point but seeing as how that doesn’t take effect until 2030, who knows where overall prices will be there. Fun fact though, most of India’s best sellers are priced well north of $10K.

  33. I could make this a random thought but thought it was more suited to be a joke. We've heard the expression supporting what is home grown: "If it ain't Boeing, it ain't going." Ok, well, the following is a Boeing product, the B-757, and, according to the news, "it ain't going." Because if you ain't spending the money to fix its Rolls Royce* engines, then it definitely ain't going. * hmmm, Rolls Royce ... when home grown Pratt & Whitney is "the other" major supplier of engines for this aircraft

  40. It doesn’t matter that YOU never had to use a feeling service but plenty of others have and still do and that was the point. And I’m sorry but diesels, overall, are not quiet (and I worked at a Chevy dealership years ago and I will debate the quietness of that 6.6L Duramax which is still noisy IMO) and most will end up blowing a black cloud of death whenever they go. See that crap everyday in NC and saw it everywhere in Arizona. Cite your source about the 75%. Also, go ahead and point out the two expensive imports selling there while ignoring native companies like Tata, which sells far cheaper cars overall (EVs included). Thats some SMK level cherry picking, honestly.

  42. Lexus should have done what GM did for the last 15 years: have a dedicated three-row luxury crossover. Think about it: Lexus already has the NX and the UX crossovers. Why not have a real three-row crossover to complement the two-row RX? I have no idea why Lexus made the mistake of creating the RX350L when a separate model would do a lot better. If Cadillac can have an XT6 AND the Escalade, why can't Lexus?

  44. We never had a hired fueling service, ever. [Some folk might say a refueler/recharger with 'market adjusted' energy costs is an "idiot" situation, automatically not considered. I assume.] And we never hauled equipment to the shop to fuel them. Can you imagine any other scenario? There is no "might" about, not remotely. Even a few generations ago of the 6.6L Duramax were surprisingly quiet. Not that more than a handful of people really care... What's "superior" about the work itself performed?? Funny; Case stated their BE machine does work "equal" to diesel variants.
    1 point
  45. Electric is not the cure all for everything, but it does offer an amazing change in society with no noise and no smell and with proper planning you can have them recharged and ready to go in the morning. Flip it this way, the guy that is supposed to show up to refuel your diesel tractor, did not refuel his own truck in the evening, gets up to do his run and has to stop to fuel up, but the gas stations are all closed since the ones by him are not open 24/7. He now sits on the side of the road awaiting someone to bring him fuel and so he misses getting to his lot to fill up all the tanks and get out to the site to refuel your tractor and you now have an empty fuel tank on the job and unable to work. This goes both ways. While yes a modern pickup truck might be much quieter than they used to be with GM being the quietest, Ford and RAM are still super noisy from an engine stand point and all still stink so unless your auto has inside cabin air filters you still get the stench of diesel and even worse when an older truck goes by blowing out the toxic black smoke. Like you said, they all have their place in work and society, but that does not mean we cannot keep working to make them better and remove the toxic stench, noise pollution and have a cleaner quieter work area. If Diesel is the perfect solution, then why does John Deer, Kubota, Nortac, EGO and so many companies build residential to small business tractors? If Diesel is the perfect solution, then why does Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deer, Bobcat, Cummins all are now starting to make electric bulldozers and excavators? Right now Hybrids are starting to out sell traditional diesel as you have a generator that is much quieter with a pure electric power train doing superior work.

  47. AT4 packages have been talked about going across the whole GMC portfolio and the 2022 GMC Terrain now has this edgier look and new tech. My only hesitation is the single choice turbo motor, at least it has a 9sp transmission be it FWD or AWD. 2022 GMC Terrain lands with AT4 model, new tech and edgier looks - Roadshow (cnet.com) To Quote the review: The exterior grows more angled and edgier on all Terrain models, while the rear receives new LED taillights. A handful of new color options and two new wheel designs all join the menu for buyers to go home with their favorite combination. No matter which trim, a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine is the sole choice, which makes 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic sends power to the front or all wheels. GMC will launch the Terrain in base SLE trim, SLT and AT4 this summer, while the fancier Denali arrives at dealers this fall. GMC will also bring back the popular Elevation special edition, too. No prices yet, but expect a minor bump with all the new features baked in as standard. Leaked is the all new Nissan 400Z while fans are saying how cool and awesome it looks, I have to say Nissan 400Z leaks in production form, looks downright amazing - Roadshow (cnet.com) More photo's and interior images at the link above.
