@ykX Ill post 3 videos on this year's NHL playoffs. Washington and Boston. These 3 videos epitomizes not only NHL hockey but hockey itself. It all good of you dont like it. But this is the product that the NHL wants to sell, but lets face it, this is also what hockey is all about. European hockey, which Canada introduced to them, or North American hockey... Game 1. Listen to the commentary...very telling. Please note that Ovechkin is from the Russian leagues and so is Pastrnk. Two Euro stylee league players that found themselves in the NHL Same game a few minutes later. Marchand gets revenge. But is hit by Pastrnk first. All clean hits. With the exemption of that first video. Ovi's hit was questionable. The crosschecks were also questionable. But in the NHL, especially in the playoffs. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Like I said...INTIMIDATION is part of the game. Always will be. In Europe or in North America. You might not like the NHL style, its all good. But dont tell me Euro hockey is better with all the after the whistle shenanigans and the cheap shots and the embellishments and the lack of physical play to cut down on the bully tactics....3 points

The hey days of Tesla are behind them as more auto makers join the BEV market. Way superior options over Tesla. That is not to say that I am not grateful for Tesla pushing the EV market and they do have pretty solid powertrains, but that is where it ends. You can buy Tesla Power Trains and battery packs from various EV parts sellers like EVwest and use them in your own conversions, but the rest of Tesla Auto's seem to have found no market beyond his fanatic fans. Amazing the amount of parts from Tesla new, for sale. EV West - Electric Vehicle Parts, Components, EVSE Charging Stations, Electric Car Conversion Kits2 points

But you have it WRONG about fighting... In the NHL....fighting is ALSO NOT allowed. NEVER was allowed... I dont like fighting as much as YOU do... The disconnect is, I UNDERSTAND the place fighting has in hockey... You might not think it has a place. But it does and THAT is why it even happens, quite often, in the European leagues... What I want out of the game...well...read my signature... I posted THAT as soon as the New York Rangers made that statement public... Its the bodychecks you dont want. But it is a physical game. EVEN in the Euro leagues. It looks like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. No skin off my back if you cease to watch ANY hockey... But please do not tell me that Euro hockey is better. Its slightly different. But to me... Euro hockey is the same thing, only diff is, Euro hockey is hypocritical.2 points

http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=25010 A major penalty shall be imposed on any player who fights. A player who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation shall be assessed an instigating minor pen-alty, a major for fighting and a ten minute misconduct. (NEW for 2005-06) A player who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at any time in overtime, shall be assessed an instigator minor penalty, a major for fighting, a ten minute misconduct and an automatic one-game suspension. The length of suspension will double for each subsequent offense. In addition, the player's coach shall be fined $10,000 -- a fine that will double for each subsequent incident. Happens all the time...in European hockey. Why? European hockey players in their respective European leagues cheap shot a lot more than their NHL counterparts do. Intimidation tactics. Hockey, whether played in Europe or in North America, is played that way. Why? Bodychecking... Its a physical game. Euro hockey emphasizes less on the bodychecking than in North America and THAT is where you have it wrong... Its NOT the fighting that you think is the difference. Its the bodychecking. Fighting exists on both the Euro side and North American side because one opponent tries to intimidate the other side. And fighting just cancels out the bullying. What you want to see more of is the fancy fast plays. Which is Euro hockey. But the cheap shots even in their game is very apparent. MORE so than in the NHL because well...the NHL, the players have many ways to curb the bullying... Bodychecking is one way. Like I said before. Chirping and after the whistle shenanigans exist. MORE so than in Euro leagues than in the NHL. NHL players line you up and bodycheck you hard when you chirp and cheap shot. In Europe, the only way to counter that is: 1. Fighting. Which they do. But frowned upon. Like in the NHL. But the NHL, the league tolerates it. The FANS LOVE it! 2. Embellishment by the players to get the ref to call a penalty. In the NHL, we got: 1. Fighting. But in the NHL, fighting too, is frowned upon. 2. HARD BODYCHECKS. Please do NOT confuse fighting with lack and less of bodychecks in the Euro leagues. The Euro leagues TOLERATE embellishment. In the NHL, they dont... In the NHL, bodychecks is a FUNDAMENTAL part of the game. In the Euro leagues, they want to believe that they are better than that. In the NHL...we want CLEAN bodychecks. We want a nice hard check to separate the puck from the player. NOT to separate the guy's head from his body. Ill repeat, its not the fighting that is the difference in European leagues versus the NHL. Its the bodychecking. The bodychecking SLOWS down the game. THIS is what YOU dont want. YOU dont want the bodychecks...because it slows the game down. YOU mentioned this. YOU prefer the fancy plays. Its all good. But it aint the fighting that you dont care for. Its the bodychecking you dont care for.2 points

I certainly don't think fighting contributes nothing to the game. It's guys protecting their stars who're being roughed up unnecessarily.2 points

Ahhh yes, that was my point earlier to David, as just this channel alone may not be everything they do. Thanks for the information, I had a feeling they were doing other stuff. Unfortunately, they're terribly annoying(the 10 seconds I watched).2 points

Sounds like there is an opportunity for a new sport--a hybrid of MMA and hockey where players get points for fight style, and the fighting is an integral part of the game...2 points

• The quickest production RPO V8 is quicker than the quickest Tesla to date. 'course; it's basically a production drag car... but it's quicker. • Tesla's not really a luxury brand... other than the pricing. • Tesla has raised pricing 5 times this year and has issued 2 recalls last month alone. They don't have the quality where it should be. • Tesla does still have advantages, such as huge presence in the BE segment... but I'm reminded right here about how just talking about BE market share is a "horrible" metric, so by extension so too must it be horrible to say 'Tesla has BE's but Cadillac, genesis, etc do not'. Are we going to use the motive power as a 'wall' or not? Lyriq looks really good from what they've shown so far... but we have to wait until the production unit is revealed. But to date, it blows the Model X out of the water as a luxury vehicle.1 point

Seems the Hits keep coming to Tesla, per Musk, people who buy Tesla 3 & Y are not using their lumbar supports so bye bye they go but no price cut for the lost feature. Tesla has also removed all the radars in their auto's saying they can do full self driving with cameras only. So another safety feature Tesla talked about having Radar and Cameras in the past are gone and no you do not pay less. Seems for a luxury auto company, they are discontenting their auto's fast and rising prices with the blame on suppliers. Tesla Model 3 and Y Lose Adjustable Lumbar Due to "Almost no Usage" (motortrend.com) Interesting how as pointed out by the writer, Lumbar is one of those things you usually set and forget as it is not going to be tweaked daily so of course not much reporting in the logs. Tesla is starting to equal cheapness! ?1 point

Based on solid financial reviews, seems Tesla and the rest of the EV only companies are hurting. During the change over period, ICE will help finance BEV development and future growth. Ford and GM is both a recommended investment of $1,000 by Motley Fool for future growth that will be better than any of the EV startups. Tesla lost their biggest customer FCA that was buying Half a Billion a quarter in CO2 credits to offset the Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler lines. With the recent merge, they are now balanced by all the rest of the world tiny fuel efficient products. Hard for any company to replace $500,000,000 million a quarter loss like that and it was the bulk that gave Tesla a Profit. Next Quarter could be a red blood bath at Tesla as Sales are NOT going up as you have stated. Seems lots of people are interested in buying EV's but would rather have an established company with dealerships, service centers and a known history compared to Tesla. I do not see Tesla dying now, but as both Ford and GM roll out so many EV options over the next couple of years, this is going to hurt Tesla and we have all the other established auto makers also rolling out EVs. End result is Tesla is going to have to really step up and compete otherwise alternative things happen. GM and Ford Are Leaving Electric Vehicle Stocks in the Dust | The Motley Fool1 point

That is literally sidestepping ALL the other evidence showing their market share decreasing and their reliability still being a joke. Their infotainment system is a joke too and not reliable either unless your like having to replace that oversized tablet every five years or so. Hope they don’t put that into the “maintenance free” Cybertruck lol! https://electrek.co/2020/07/04/tesla-updates-warranty-problematic-media-unit-touchscreen/ https://www.thedrive.com/tech/27989/teslas-screen-saga-shows-why-automotive-grade-matters And Tesla has outsold those you mentioned due to there being no competition from those companies in the EV realm. As it has been pointed out to you at least dozen times here, that is obviously changing.1 point
-
All the other car companies are still heavily ICE dependent. Tesla is still ahead of the game since they are all EV, and all their money is going into EVs, they don't need to split R&D between ICE and EV. And Tesla still makes the fastest cars, their infotainment and self driving tech is still better than most. Tesla still outsells Lincoln, Cadillac, Acura and Infiniti in the same price segment, and Tesla does it with a smaller line up.1 point

It's interesting. Tesla came in to a relative barren & new segment, sold more & more vehicles with no advertising, but spent years and years losing billions doing it. Now, competition is ramping up from all quarters, with Tesla never getting past being a relative boutique automaker and relying on ZE credits for profit. Did Tesla actually have 'hey days'? ?1 point

Electric auto updates for the day. BYD, one of North America's largest school bus builders has announced their electric bus product line. The buses have a 155 mile range, more than enough for a typical bus route. They come in 35, 38 & 40 foot lengths with seating up to 84 kids and can be equipped with ADA liftgates. The buses much like what BYD sells in Europe will have bi-directional charging and BYD says that the electric school buses cut fuel cost and maintenance cost by 60% when compared to Diesel versions. I will say they are very nice compared to the school buses of the 80 I rode in growing up. BYD to Revolutionize Electric School Buses - BYD USA BMW has revealed their all-new I4 BEV sedan for North America with deliveries starting Autumn 2021. The first-ever BMW i4. (bmwgroup.com) You can find a very long list of firsts that BMW is claiming at the press release link above. There are also a ton of high res pictures and videos also. Just included two here of the HUGE kidney front end that is a Love Hate relationship I suspect for many. Tesla 3 was clearly the yard stick to measure by as this is a BMW clone pretty much of what Tesla Built. Interior dash Interior back with rear seats folded down. Not very flat for sure. Final news is from 7-Eleven. They had over the last couple decades moved away from having gas stations with their stores though one can find many around still. 7-Eleven has announced that by the end of 2021, they will have 500 Fast DC charging stations installed at select 7-Eleven stores. 7-Eleven has also stated that they are pushing to reduce their own CO2 emission by 50% by 2030 and this starts by having all Texas and Illinois stores powered by 100% wind energy. Florida stores will be powered by Solar energy. Other states will come online to support green energy as solutions are presented in each state joining their original state of Washington using 100% hydro power. Help us understand why it doesn’t matter? There is market share to be had with each type of vehicle (Pick Up, full size cars, compact CUVs, etc) and the fact is that Tesla is losing market share AND stock value because the competition is creeping up on them. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.barrons.com/amp/articles/tesla-stock-market-share-516227220441 point

We don’t have to see anything. 750K with zero maintenance is pure fantasy and pure marketing BS, like that bullet proof glass that shattered. It’s not even a debate as to its legitimacy except to someone like yourself. Exactly. It doesn’t even mention that on Tesla’s OWN PAGE so unless SMK saw that there (while providing no proof of), it is pure bunk. Even if it is mentioned, it is pure bunk lol. Then why did you emphasize that they had gained market share when they haven’t? And what is “total market share” anyway? Just sounds like a convenient way to backpedal out of a lie to me.1 point

I know very well about bodychecking and I was just talking about actual fighting. When I was a kid we used to play hockey in the yard in the winter and even we did it without any equipment besides sticks. Exactly. In any case, if you and ccap and other fans enjoy the fighting in hockey and NHL tolerates it, that's fine. Personally, I don't. To each its own.1 point

? Looking around and Tesla is NOT SAYING 750,000 miles of maintenance free driving. Cybertruck | Tesla Finally found the only places that mention that crazy figure and NO They do not quote Tesla, more of a Tesla Fanatic thinking Tesla can outlast everyone, but we have seen past and current quality and that is not happening with Tesla auto's. The Tesla Cybertruck Isn’t A Pickup — It's Much, Much More | CleanTechnica This is probably one of the best REALISTIC posts about Cybertruck. The person clearly states that the Heat Pump and Air Bladder system on the air suspension even if commercial grade will have to be replaced at 100,000 miles or at least rebuilt / serviced. Also an overall decent list of the service / replacement parts that would be needed on the Cybertruck. CyberTruck longevity | Tesla Motors Club Best part of this is that someone on the channel was stupid enough to say that Tesla's outlast all ICE. Another person posted a nice long list of competition trucks all between 461,000 and 872,000 miles on the odometer, verified via carfax listed for sale on autotrader at dealerships. Hard to have a GM or Ford that clearly has outlasted any current Tesla and for sale.1 point

Tesla is gaining total market share. Losing EV market share because there are more EV's but using EV market share only is a horrible metric, total market is what matters. Ford could cancel all models but the F150, go from selling 2.5 million cars a year to 750,000 and gain 5% market share in pick ups and claim they gained pick up segment market share, but who cares if they just lost 1.75 million sales. Have to look at whole market. And the Cybertruck bed lowers in the rear, closer to the ground than any other pick up, so it is plenty accessible, actually the easiest to load on market because it comes with a ramp too. EV market share doesn't matter. Only total market share. When Tesla sales are declining, while everyone else is growing, then they can worry.1 point

There's always been a bit of nebulous info out there RE P-64s; it's said that in GTO's the starter is mounted to the block, enabling transmissions changes at will. I've further heard this was the same for Grand Prixs... but my car is an early build (4th week of October '63), and via direct observation; my car's starter is mounted to the transmission bellhousing. That's 'one more straw' against changing out the trans, so I'm going to stick with the original Roto HydraMatic.1 point
-
It was also 'designed to have bullet-proof glass', and we saw how that worked out. cybertruck brings no paint options, the world's largest blind spots and the world's most inaccessible bed to the table. Not sure very many people are actually 'going to see' by paying any money for one. Incorrect- they are gaining VOLUME, they are losing MARKET SHARE.1 point

Not in Texas apparently lol. I have bought ten cars form dealerships and have never been in one more than two hours tops. Please stop with the exaggeration. And again, Elon has stock. He does not billions of his own money to compete with dealer Association. Having said that, this is dumb to a whole other level. Texas is about 100 years behind the times here but then again, Texas.1 point
-
Who told you that lie? Elon? Guess he left that little tidbit off of their other models, given their reliability record since day one, skipping the sheer bull$h! of thinking this thing is going to last that long without any maintenance outside of tires. That is literally the most absurd sales pitch I have ever heard. If I walked into a Tesla store and they told me that, I'd literally laugh myself right on out of there. And owners are not THAT loyal when said company still hasn't improved upon said reliability since day one.1 point
-
Well the Cybertruck is designed to do 750,000 miles with no maintenance except tires, so you don't really need a dealership. Tesla has some issues and needs to get more models out and keep the existing ones updated. However they aren't really at risk of losing customers, their owners are super loyal and they are gaining market share, not losing.1 point

BS. 1.1 million subscribers do not cover a $1 million Mercedes. These are just a bunch of clueless spoiled kids. Their parents were already millionaires. That money was already there. BTW, they have far more than 1.14 million subscribers but that doesn't change my statement about them being spoiled rich kids. Haven't you been reading? They already do. It's called the NHL lol. Beyond annoying but to each their own.1 point

Yet they still do it while fighting has gone down in the NHL (as ccap stated). BTW, fighting is technically against the rules in the NHL as well. In fact, fighting is against the rules in every sport EXCEPT where it actually involves fighting yet fights still happen in basketball, football, soccer, etc. Them lofty standards though lol. In fact, here is over 2 hours of fights from European hockey from 2003-2019 yet it is against the rules (as you stated).1 point

^^^ I always loved the way Pontiac shaped their hoods and front ends into the design to incorporate their arrowhead. Everything comes to a peak and a point. And the center of it all is that arrowhead that is the center piece of that middle point in the hood. And on the front end, that famous Pontiac beak nose would be front and center. And sometimes that beak nose would house that famous Pontiac arrowhead instead of the hood. LOVE IT!!!1 point

I hear ya. It looks like it will be Tampa Bay and Colorado in the finals. I do want it to be Montreal versus Boston tho. For several reasons. 1. Boston is my team. 2. If Montreal wins, Ill scream in AGONY! I HATE the HABS! But... its MY city! 3. Just imagine what the games would be like. PURE hatred for one another. Pro sports most longest, heated rivalry and its for THE Stanley Cup. LAST time this happened was in the '50s when Boston played Montreal in the finals FOR the Cup.1 point

Yes, 1/25th is the US standard scale (1/24 for Japanese and European brands). I have two of the AMT '64 GP annuals (along with the '64 Bonneville ht & convertible)....both of mine were bought as built, one fairly well, one pretty rough. They are in storage, but here is a pic of the '64 box art. I also have the '59 Buick annual kits (ht & conv), along w/ all the full size Buicks from '60-66 along w/ the '69 & 70 (there were no full size Buick kits for '67-68 or after '70).1 point

Sure they take short cuts, but they do a lot of things well too. And as I stated, they outsell several luxury brands with no marketing budget. If you want performance, the V8s can't compete with the electric motors, so Tesla still has a performance advantage over other luxury brands. And if you just want an EV, Cadillac, Lincoln, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Genesis, Land Rover, all don't have an EV. Tesla still has a lot of advantages in their favor. It won't be that easy for the competition to just squash them out. And if it was, why haven't they already? 5 years ago, all those luxury brands outsold Tesla, now Tesla outsells them all except maybe Lexus.-1 points
