  1. ^ I'm pretty sure the Sport still had the Endura nose as a separate option, so; nice set-up. My brother & I once tried to go in together and buy a pair of white '71s- he was after the Judge hardtop (1 of 357 built), and I was after the LeMans Sport convert, which was wearing the Judge's Endura nose. They had been just sitting behind a Pontiac engine-builder friend of ours for years, but once we started the conversation going with the owner (another guy), he apparently 'fell back in love' and declined to sell them. I'm not really into A-Bodies, but I've chased a few. Another was a white '68 GTO hardtop with a bright red interior, hide-aways and a hood tach, but the owner sold it out from under me to someone else.

  2. Today is always a tough day. It's hard to believe it even happened. I remember where I was when I heard the news, what the day felt like, what the week felt like, what the month felt like ... And that was 20 years ago. It means I have not forgotten. None of us can afford to forget this day 20 years ago. So, enjoy Sunday (tomorrow, 9/12) and have a good week.

  3. BTW--the new trim level in the Silverado for 2022 is the ZR2, not XR2. Its described as an 'extreme off-road capable' model, similar to the Colorado ZR2. https://jalopnik.com/the-2022-chevy-silverado-zr2-wants-to-be-the-most-truck-1847647549

  4. Spotted today at a gas station. It's a 1971 with a Pontiac 400 and no A/C. Its owner was a cool guy. I asked him if I could take a few photos before I fueled up. That's all folks.

  5. Nothing to be “confused” over @balthazar . I like the current Silverado over the other two, overall. However, if Chevy is going to sell a $70K High Country to compete with the Ford Platinum and King Ranch, as well as the RAM Laramie models, then it should have an equal or better interior than the other two and as of now, no objective mind would dare that the High Country has a nicer looking interior than the other two. At least Chevy had the good sense to leave the work and base models alone (for now) because it’s less of a big deal with those. The high trims, however, are a whole other matter.

  6. The interior alone is a night and day difference over the outgoing one. It’s about time they made one that didn’t look like it came out of the Fisher Price collection.

  7. The '22 Silverado interior update looks quite good. Slight front end tweak also w/ new grille and big badge for some trims.

  8. Heh-heh. I meant Laramie when I said Lariat. These trucks have so many trim levels it gets confusing. But lots of choice is a good thing. Same with some SUVs.

  9. Ram has 2 parallel truck liness: Rebel / TRX, and Tradesman / Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited Longhorn / Limited. Ford F-150 Lariat : $45,045 Ram Big Horn : $37,390 Laramie would be closer to Lariat @ $42,080.

  10. I think the ZR2 is targeting the Raptor and TRX, as a performance off-roader, though less over the top. Not sure how the High Country compares to the Denali, Platinum and Limited. Interesting, Ford has a Limited above the Platinum, and Ram has a Limited and Limited Long Horn. I think the Big Horn is a lower level, below Lariat? Hard to tell from the Ram site which doesn't have seem to list the trims from lowest to highest.

  11. So 2022 Chevrolet XR2 Interior Ford 2021 F-150 Platinum Interior Ford 2021 F-150 Limited Ram 2021 Big Horn Interesting comparison on interiors, Big Horn Ram's top of the line starts with Premium Cloth seats and an up charge for Leather where Ford and Chevrolet start at leather and you have to move down to lower trim to get cloth options.

  12. Interior is nice, but that Front end of a Cheese Grader is a head shaker!

  13. We have almost 800 miles on the truck already! Was trying hard to get it through the 500 mile break-in period before leaving for our trip but fell a bit short. Here are my initial driving impressions after our couple hundred mile round trip camping adventure last weekend: As expected, it pulled our 2100 lb popup camper like a champ. It even got decent gas mileage doing it. It came in at around 17 mpg with 75% to 25% split between 2 lane 55 mph highway and 70 mph Interstate on the way out due to being diverted by construction traffic combined with 95% interstate driving on the way back. It is also averaging around 17.5 mpg around town since we got back. I expect the mileage to get even better as I get even more miles on it. I'm not sure if these had stop/start prior to the chip shortage and it got removed or if they never had it but after our last two new vehicles having it, it seems almost odd and wasteful to not have it. I didn't necessarily like the feature at first but once I got used to it, it didn't bother me. While my complaints of missing features mentioned in the first post are still valid, I like the interior more than I initially thought I would. I am very happy with my choice of cocoa/dark atmosphere over black. I think it looks quite nice. The seats were also more comfortable than I initially thought they were going to be. So far all the features I have used have been pretty intuitive and have worked as expected with the exception of the trailer brake and I am pretty sure that is due to them being out of adjustment on the camper, not due to a problem with the truck. I've never used them before and I doubt the first owner of the camper did either since they were towing it with an Escape. One more minor annoyance that I noticed on the trip: the HVAC blower makes more noise than I would expect at just a medium fan speed. And it isn't a wind noise but more of a weird, almost whistle sound. Not sure if that is something specific to my truck or common on all of these. Overall, the build quality seems pretty good. The dealership had to fix the front fascia that was not installed correctly (they did this before I took delivery) but everything else seems fine. These trucks were initially built with missing parts due to the chip shortage so I wonder if they had to remove the fascia to install something prior to shipment and didn't get it reinstalled correctly. Lastly, I did buy some GM accessories so I guess I can comment on those. I bought the front and rear floor liners. The quality seems good and the fronts fit very well but the rears don't fit quite as well. The fronts definitely fit better than the WeatherTech liners my Dad bought for his Terrain. I also bought the tri-fold tonneau cover. It seems to fit quite well and everything stayed dry in a serious downpour the other day. It was easy to install and is easy to unclamp and fold. No complaints. Let me know if you guys have any questions about the truck I can answer!

  14. Beach day today..drove up to Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA to sit on the beach for a while and walk in the surf...very relaxing. Stopped at a 1/2 dozen other beaches along Lake Erie on the way home...saw a variety of interesting cars today. Saw a new Ford Bronco in person for the first time--a gray 2dr out front of a Ford dealer, saw a Porsche Taycan for the first time--a pale blue (almost white) one in Conneaut, Ohio, saw a sharp dark red '70-ish Nova w/ a large cowl hood scoop, a very clean dark blue '65 Mustang 2+2 on I-90, a dark gray w/ black stripes current Shelby GT500, a bright yellow Lambo Huracan. At a beach in Ashtabula, Ohio saw a car show by the water, incl a neat '62 Mercury 4dr. On my street tonight when I got home, saw a very sharp white w/ red interior '70 GTO in a driveway next to a sharp black '73-74 Challenger.

  15. Nice? Sure, in some regards but not nicer than the others IMO and thats been the core gripe with this model since day one. These new interiors will include the LT models on up, leaving the older interior to the LS and work truck models, which is fine. Again, if it were priced cheaper than the than other two (all other features equal, mind you) then it probably not be such a big deal for some folks. It is not though and that is why GM finally gave it a proper update. That is not a RAM in the second pic. Still a Ford. Also the Big Horn is not their highest trim. That would be the Limited model which does include leather trimmed seats.
