  2. So the Chinese Lincoln is basically an Audi on the outside (with K5 taillights). Unfortunate.

  3. mercedes, at least, uses 3 screens behind 1 face; it's not single unit. - - - - - I replaced my desktop at 10-yrs age, but I still run the old one every few days. Maybe once a month a 'gray shade' drops down over the screen and you have to restart it, but otherwise it still runs fine. More to the issue is the planned obsolescence of software, which stops issuing programs updates / stops recognizing some browsers. Very minimal... but some of the inherent program features I like better on the older system.

  4. I have kinda felt the auto industry would love to have 100% leases so they can crush and keep everyone making auto payments for life.

  5. mo' complexity, mo' problems. 3 year leases would be the way to go w/ modern appliances. Could you imagine dealing w/ a 2022 luxury car w/ all it's complexity when it's 15 years old w/ 150k miles?

  6. The same reason being powered by diesel was advertised differently, see TDI's.

  7. It's disappointing there are zero Lincoln sedans here now and, a good as this looks, it's disappointing it isn't coming here. Aaaaaand just like that you ruined the car for me. ?

  8. They aren't, tho. Lexus sold 62 in 2011; its first year. 2015 it was down to 9. By 2019 it was 3. LFA was an enormous flop. 'Channeling its spirit' is an advertising mistake. - - - - - I posted a few days ago that KBB.com's evaluation of my '21 GMC was 109% of what I paid, which garnered a few laughing emoji responses. Just looked at NADA's evaluation, and it's "clean retail" valuation stands at 129% of what I paid for it. 'Clean Retail' is what a dealer would sell it for, supposedly. What a weird automotive time to be living in, where the old 'it's worth half what you bought it for as soon as you drive off the lot' has been thrown out the window.

  9. I got bad news last night (phone calls after 9pm are never good) that my older brother had died at age 72. We had been estranged for years, esp. after our mother's death almost 6 years ago. He had a lot of issues in life, but I have to try and look at the positives--he got me into model cars 40+ years ago and got me into '60s rock music, Mustangs and '60s muscle cars. He could be a really unpleasant and difficult individual, but was still family. I'm sure he left no will, so now comes the messy aspects of cleaning up and clearing out the family farm (which I own 1/3 of), selling his car and motorcycle collection, cleaning up the property and selling it...
