  1. @trinacriabob I appreciate your thoughts and your insights not only on car and travel related topics, but also on the human side. You seem to remember many folk on this site and you make sure that we all take the time to acknowledge each other's contributions on the human level. Thank-you!

  2. Per the birthday news, today's is an interesting one! It's the birthday of Charger4U. It's also his big 3-0. He joined us when he was just a teenager and had the kind of moxie where he could hold his own with the adults (chronologically, at least) on C&G. His parents had moved their family from SoCal to a small town in South Dakota, IIRC, like a lot of people were doing and have been doing by moving to other less populated and quieter states in the West ... my parents included. He had a high level of intelligence and high ambitions. I hope he's having a great birthday, wherever he may be, and wish him every success.

  4. Just another weekend of moving content between the houses. The actual move w/ movers of the furniture is scheduled for June 9th...though that date may move. Should be actually living in the house w/ the dogs that weekend. I have a camping cot and slept in the house a couple nights this past week, was great...very quiet. Loved watching the sunset from the patio and sitting out there after dark. Need to get some of the outside lights sorted. Getting a bunch of misc work done--had the carpet cleaned, ducts cleaned, alarm system and doorbell cameras installed, furnaces serviced, got the yard service going, getting the concrete pad and electrical for the hot tub done this coming week...

  5. My 2020 iPhone SE had gotten to point it would only last 2-3 hrs on a full charge with constant use. So it was time for a new phone, got my first big phone this week--an iPhone 14 Pro (the Pro Max is even larger, I don't need one that large). Nice hefty phone, still fits in my pocket but larger than the SE...like it so far...good battery life.

  6. I say...have yourself a jolly good time and refresh. ALWAYS a good idea! PS...the great idea upvotey thingy I did on your post was for the Canadian Rockiess getaway trip for you to relax. NOT about the naming thing for the Escalade although its probably close to what Cadillac will do. The naming strategy is a bad idea in my opinion.... JUST to make it clear. Not on you of course. On Cadillac.

  7. I have posted so many times in so many threads here that the ExoSkeleton Cyber Truck would have been a game changer. Instead, the public will get a Honda Ridgeline competing Unibody pickup that will have a fraction of what Musk has promised. All flash and no real steal!

  8. So I have been all week in Vegas, sucky story I will post after I get back in a week as I am taking PTO off to go escape and unplug in the Canadian Rockies, Fairmount Hot springs. Summer Family Trip - Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Reservations Wanted to jump on this as I thought about this all week long and I wonder if this is what they will do? Escalade IQ Escalade IQL EV versions of Escalade Escalade ESV I totally agree that once ICE is gone, just go back to Escalade, but what about the ESV, go with just L then?

  9. I like the second livery. Aegean is in the Star Alliance, therefore it's grouped in with United and Air Canada. I'd sure like the seem them cross the ocean to North America, like Olympic did. @oldshurst442 Classic reliable "olds" humor!

  10. Some pony car and sports car spotting Pensacola Beach, FL - "Smile, you're on C&G" ... I just know it's a Corvette ... I have a hard time telling the MYs apart "Treasure Coast" area, FL - here's a grumbling and rumbling Camaro of 1970 to 1973 vintage. I only liked from second-gen models from 1975 onward ... hey, there's a Wawa "Treasure Coast" area, FL - here's what is probably a 1988 (+/-) Ford Mustang convertible, with burgundy cloth bucket seats (cloth? in a convertible?) and a 5.0 (302 c.i.) V8

  11. Some Cadillac spotting Pensacola Beach, FL - seen within 15 or 20 minutes of each other - tackiness applied onto massive '70s land yachts (the headlamps on the Eldo were not rectangular) and, except for the grille emblem, it was hard to "knee jerk" identify an SLS as a Cadillac
