  1. So, one thing to keep in mind about the Mach-E is that it doesn't adjust charge speed based on state of charge, but rather how long it's been plugged in. 400v is last gen technology, and given how long he keeps his vehicles, he needs to aim for the latest stuff. 800v has an easier time fast charging.

  2. AI Carspotting. I was playing around in Davinci, an AI graphics generator. I have a bunch of cars that I had it make. Most were duds, but some came out hawt! I'll post them here over the next few days and see how you like them. I'm debating if I should make this its own thread or not. Let me know what you think. First up, what AI thinks a 2025 Oldsmobile Toronado would look like. I'm digging the shooting brake style with the long hood. Also props on the new logo. 9 out of 10. Another shooting brake style that looks like it came from the GM design department. I can see this being platform shared with a Cadillac based on the lighting and grille details. 7 out of 10. Not sure what's going on here, but it must be an EV with the cab being that far forward. I do like the grill opening though. 4 out of 10. Probably too retro for the general public, but proof to Tesla that you don't have to be boring to be aero. 8 out of 10. This looks like it would be Alpha platform based, shared with the Camaro, and thus likely too small for my tastes in a personal luxury coupe. The grille is "intriguing" though. 7 out of 10. A rear half door! But unfortunately, the proportions are wrong and that grills says Riviera rather than Toronado. Still, if it brought Olds and the Toronado back, I'd buy it. 7 out of 10. 10 out of 10. No notes. Which ones do you like? I'll have more tomorrow.

  3. So how did this get off the finalist list? 400v vs 800v? I definitely agree that I would use a different salesman. I HATE a crappy salesperson. Those people make me associate them all as sleezy.

  4. It’s got a subscription fee that I’m not willing to pay at this time, but I may in the future. I’m in free trial mode. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/davinci-ai-image-generator/id1630366866?ppid=0eef3854-70e3-4415-9a5f-5f6cda079a41

  6. Yup! Cupra is to SEAT as Polestar is to Volvo. It started as a performance trim and became its own brand for reasons that only an overpaid brand consultant can explain.

  7. Looks like a Cupra. Spin-off brand of SEAT...yet another VWAG brand.

  8. So it is narrowed down to the following 2 options: Not sure what she is thinking, but due to the differences in 400V for the Ford EVs versus 800V for the Korean autos, she has decided to go with the Korean options. So this coming weekend, another teste drive time to see how it plays out for her.

  9. Yesterday, Rivian announced that drivers of Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles are now able to charge at most Tesla Supercharger locations.  Like Ford EV drivers, Rivian owners will receive a free NACS to CCS adapter. The Supercharger network has been integrated into Rivian's navigation and charging app, enabling "plug-and-charge" simplicity without needing to pull up an app.  Billing for charge sessions at Tesla supercharger stations is handled automatically through the Rivian network. Starting in 2025 with the Rivian R1S and R1T, Rivian vehicles will adopt the NACS charge port, enabling drivers of those vehicles native access to the Supercharger network and other NACS chargers without an adapter. The Rivian R2 and Rivian R3 will be equipped with the NACS port from the start of production. Rivian announced in June, 2023 that they would adopt the NACS adapter and enable Tesla Supercharging access. They are the second automaker to do so, following Ford enabling Supercharger access earlier this month. Rivian has also been busy building its own Rivian Adventure Network, a series of charging stations focused on more remote locations where Rivian drivers might access like national parks.  Currently, the Rivian Adventure Network is limited to Rivian drivers, but later this year Rivian will be opening access to all electric vehicles. The Rivian NACS to CCS adapters begin shipping in April. In the meantime, Rivian drivers might borrow a Ford NACS to CCS adapter from a friend. View full article

  10. Ok auto friends, running from my Madrid to Frankfurt flight to catch my Frankfurt to Seattle flight I spotted this auto on display and have no idea the brand. Striking and good looking, was in a hurry as I had no time to stop due to passport control being so slow. What is the brand?
