    Finally - Toyota Shows The Production Version FT-86

    After two years and countless number of concepts, Toyota will show off the production version of the FT-86 sports car. Toyota's UK office released pictures and some tidbits about the vehicle. In Europe, the coupe will be called GT 86.

    Here's the specs of the GT 86:

    • 2.0L boxer with D4-S injection (direct and port injected)
    • 197 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) @6,600 rpm
    • 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions
    • 17-inch wheel/tire package standard
    • 4,240mm (167 in.) long, 1285mm (50.6 in.) high, 2,570mm (101 in.) wide
    • 53:47 front-to-rear weight distribution
    • 475mm (18.7 in.) center of gravity

    Inside the GT 86 is a three-gauge cluster with a larger tachometer, carbon fiber styled trim, an all black roof, red stitching, aluminum pedals, and “aviation-style” switches.

    The GT 86 will go on sale in Europe next June.

    Too bad there are unnecessarily fussy details inside and out. What is the need for all the small quarter windows that are showing up? Interesting roof detail--will that preclude a sunroof? Subaru will probably have the better looking version.

    I think the Subaru will be the better looking fraternal twin in this family.

    Is there no way to style a modern coupe so that it has a longer shelf life? I see this as too trendy to ever become a classic.

    The interior of the BRZ/GT86 reminds me very faintly of the Porsche 924 and 944 interiors.

    In fact, there's a peculiar 924/944 vibe to the BRZ/GT in general.

    I'm not going to lie, I sort of have the hots for the BRZ. However, I would almost bet that my budget is going to agree more with the Scioyota Fries86 (or whatever the hell Toyota will call it in the US market).

      I find it funny that the Mayor and other politicians are begging Canadians to return to Vegas, but Mexico has won out, so I do not see them returning and the amount of visitors to Vegas has dropped to levels from 2000 to 2003. Billions lost and deserved based on the stupidity of the U.S. Canadian airlines are abandoning Las Vegas at levels not seen since 2006
