  1. Can't afford to get two tables and a mixer....my money right now is aimed at production/recording equipment. A $400 Battle Pack (tables, mixer, needles, and headphones all included) was calling me in that Guitar Center, but I know that's another bunch of accessories to start looking at, like slipmats and turntable cases and such. I'm not ready for all that, plus I'm a bit old to just suddenly start DJing out of nowhere. I better stick to the beats and rhymes. I could use a CD turntable, though....the pitch adjusting ability would help is sampling.
  2. Last night down La Brea, two classic LAPD cruisers went by, what looked like a 59 Ford or Dodge, followed by a Matador. Both seemed to have the current light bar on the top.
  3. It's just hard to come up on much Hip-Hop, because that's usually the most expensive, plus I need to listen to a lot of it. So I've leaned towards the 80s for the most part, because it's cheaper, plus I want those samples.
  4. If Chicago and Cincy can get it together, Detroit one day will also. I just hope that Herm Edwards isn't blown out, because those injuries the Jets have aren't his fault....
  5. Here's a taste of what I bought. Scritti Politti - Cupid & Psyche 85 Earth Wind & Fire - the Need Of Love Kev Brown - I Do What I Do a couple of Roddy Rod 12"s (with Kev Brown on the track) ABB Records Always Bigger & Better Vol. 1 MC Hammer - Let's Get It Started Deloach - "Labor Of Love" 12" Joe Jackson - Night & Day (the album with "Stepping Out" on it) The Art Of OneMind Levert - Rope-A-Dope Style Cameo - Single Life Prince - "Let's Go Crazy/Erotic City" 12" (inside of which, I found the start of a letter written way back in '88, apparently a chick telling some dude she had a new boyfriend) Steve Miller Band - Fly Like An Eagle Human League - Crash "Rappin' Is Fundamental" 12" T'Pau - "Heart & Soul" 12" Laurnea - "Infatuation" 12" Toto - IV Twista - "So Sexy" 12" Johnny Gill's 2nd album (with "My My My" and stuff like that on it) Jones Girls - Get As Much Love As You can (think "Nights Over Egypt") Depeche Mode - Some Great Reward Christopher Williams - that album with "I Talk To Myself" on it Ready For The World's first album Jagged Edge - "Promise" 12" Starship - "It's Not Over Til It's Over" 12" Mint Condition - "What Kind Of Man Would I Be" 12" Patti La Belle - the album with "On My Own" on it (besides that song, I find her stuff kinda cheesy) The Jets (who here remembers them?) Terry Tate - "Babies Having Babies" 12" (an old KDAY favorite) Philip Bailey - Chinese Wall Mr. Mister's album with "Broken Wings" on it Stevie Nicks - The Wild Heart This was a Tuesday and a Saturday at the local vinyl shop which is closing down.
  6. Well, Plymouth was below Dodge in the old pecking order. Imperial Chrysler Dodge Plymouth DeSoto
  7. Yesterday: -first Lucerne -older Z06
  8. That's the prettiest 82-84 F-body 3 I've ever seen. I usually prefer to stick to 85 and up...
  9. -Fusion #2 (another SEL, but burgundy this time) -06 MC #1 (looked like just another LT)
  10. 76 Electra 2-door, vinyl rear quarter roof that splits the side windows
  11. A good ton of basketball players are (and I'm inclined to say "most")....I'm sure quite a few golfers are too.
  12. Do people always look at the Chevy version of any car as the base for another? Can it ever be the other way around (as it was in this case)?
  13. Is that what a seller would usually do? Any warning signs I should look out for?
  14. That's the thing: he's a brand new seller, and has only bought one thing, so his feedback score is 1. Before I bid up until the day after the auction, he responded within a day of my sent e-mails. I left him alone after that and decided to wait for the PayPal to go through, which it finally did yesterday, and I e-mailed him again. Nothing so far, so I'm hoping it's only that he's busy with family for this holiday as opposed to the guy taking my money. Plus, me effin' around with this damn AOL e-mail, all my old received and read E-mails that have gone past 3 days have already been automatically deleted, so I can't really read up on other info I need. Should one give the seller a warning about taking action, or just wait it out and, if things get ugly, take action without telling the seller anything?
  15. Just made my first purchase last week, and I'm really brand new to this eBay thing. I was the winning bid for some equipment 7 days ago, and of course had to wait until Wednesday for the PayPal transfer to clear (since the funds weren't aleready up). Of course the seller said he wouldn't ship until he received payment. I know it's Thanksgiving and all, but I'm getting really anxious about the whole thing. How long before I should report the item as not received and go to PayPal about getting the funds back?
  16. A car I wanted to show appreciation for here, but never got around to. And those are great wheels that are simply too small. But yeah, Isuzu should never have stopped making cars. Honda should buy them from GM, leave the trucks to that badge, while Honda sticks to the cars.
  17. I'll say, the way people are throwing in cars that aren't even sporty, let alone sports cars...
  18. Holden's Statesman/Caprice would make for a great Bonneville....and Commodore is, of course, Tempest!!!
  19. I've been beating the Atlas-in-cars drum for a while now... It's up to GM to decide to do it. They've got a few cars ready for them.
  20. Since everyone's definition of a sports car seems to be all over the place, how can I not throw in the mighty Lotus Carlton?
  21. I definitely would never want to suffer a keying...I'd rather not have the car than look at something scratched into its paint. My best friend just bought a brand new Mustang, and about a week in, while he was at work, some bastards spay painted something on the side (what it said, I have no idea, since I never saw it)...he took it back to the dealer for removal, but the clearcoat on the passenger door is ruined.
  22. Also forgot to tell everyone.... Vandalism brought me to finally give up on the Pontiac last week.... Some local punk kids (mind you, folks, this isn't some scumbag neighborhood...people make pretty good dough up here, but doesn't mean their children are angels) were taking target practice at it and cracked the windshield. It has to be kids...no one over 19 who doesn't know me from a can of paint has interest in doing stuff like that. I was already teetering between selling and getting back to work on it, but the latter couldn't be immediately started on, and I didn't want whoever thinks that sort of thing is okay to finish the poor thing off, so I sold it to an old man who packs a lot of A-bodies in his yard. This means, at the very least, I know where it is, plus it's safer there.
  23. And apparently a newer Venturi....
