  1. Stuff you guys around here wouldn't think of...
  2. There was an Opel Corsa, but of course badged as the Mexican car known simply as "Chevy"...it was a 5-door.
  3. There's just no words.... I remember in my Integra days, when the stock wheels were all stolen and the car was left on bricks. Or when it was broken into downtown to steal some BS beat-up leather jacket (and a few of my mixtapes, which really hurt). Then after 4 years, when the car itself was stolen (with my backpack inside of it, which had my favorite sketchbook and a notebook full of ideas)...the two times that sandwiched the break-in had me angry that I couldn't hear a thing. Can't forget how the Pontiac was busted into for a crappy aftermarket stereo. I didn't care about the stereo, but did they have to tear my dash panel up? That's a rare $275 piece there. Aint' like it was a Chevy Malibu or Olds Cutlass, both of which were fairly common. There was a time I would much rather the whole car was stolen, because I at least had the Supra for backup back then (bought on insurance pay from the stolen leased Integra)... The Pontiac and my dad's van have also had windows broken out of them, but nothing obvious taken. Might I add when the Pontiac was broken into in order for some bastard to knick a cheap $40 boom box that was broken all kinds of ways, yet was still worth something to whoever did it? Then there's my mother's Accord. My little brother takes it out for one of his beach skating runs, and comes back with it with all four center caps gone from the stock wheels. And then there's overnight (which is why I'm up writing this)..... The stereo is now stolen from it. People still do that in damn-near 2006? And there's a rock-sized hole through a driver's side window held together by the cheap tint that was on it. One of those instances where the car itself may as well have been stolen. And again, no one heard anything. Might make for a great post thread, but it sure wasn't one I wanted to start.
  4. They're pretty popular out here, however....
  5. Well, me personally, it's like this... -the current one -69 -65 -77 -96
  6. Shouldn't one wait until it's the calendar year '06 to declare any vehicle a flop?
  7. They should make one today on the LX chassis, look and all.... If that doesn't make GM bring back an El Co, even if they import the Ute from Oz, nothing will.... Speaking of Oz, I can see Chrysler using the Ute and Pursuit as a business case.
  8. Where would you like to move once you're not "stuck" there anymore?
  9. It's bad enough peope used to say "Jap" on this board....
  10. Everyone naming the Monte carlo is surprising. The car isn't even on the road yet. And the R-class's demise is greatly exaggerated.
  11. If so, that's only because of the Mitsubishi badge...it looks better than the Dakota IMO.
  12. Well, so far, as I've been listening in the rental, my focus has drawn toward: -The Rhyme (65) -Sporting News (143)--great to hear what's on nationally, since the local Sportiong News affiliate, 1540, covered the entire daytime with local hacks. I missed Arnie Spanier. -XM Comedy 150--probably my favorite right now. Yesterday, they were playing some early Chris Rock, from before he started yelling and heavily cursing. Great set.
  13. Two R-classes this week... 1970 Impala as well... Forgot the others.
  14. This might be pretty hot...cars and a Hip-Hop group that are worthy...
  15. There's a ton of Impalas on the road....of course it helps that there is a pretty sizable rental fleet of them too, but plenty of them are being bought as well...expect dub rims on a lot of them by January. I have a feeling the 3LT with the 17" split-star wheels will be the most popular seller, because it simply looks good stock. As far as the Civic, the coupe seems to be appearing three times as much as the sedan so far. Over at FoMoCo, I've seen three times as many Zephyrs as Fusions....and not one Milan yet. The Zephyr might be a bigger hit than we thought. Quite a few Range Rover Sports (an SUV I like) as well. The Charger's doing great...just like the Impala, solid feeling and looking, relatively inexpensive big cars sell. And finally, this new Lexus GS (even though it was a summer introduction) has benefitted from an all-too-stale previous generation model. What MY '06 trends have you guys noticed?
  16. Not sure why you'd see that; there's no more Chevy in that Cat than there is Cadillac... which is to say none. [post="43310"][/post] It's all Pontiac besides that roofline/greenhouse, which is VERY 65 Impala
  17. You canucks are lucky bastards to get the hatch andf wagon up there....down here, strictly the notch....
  18. While out ot find supplies, I saw the following: -Maxx SS -1st 06 IS (thing looks pretty nice on the road) -51 Ford -newer NSX (non pop-up lamp version) -some prewar car (don't know those that well)
  19. -Zephyr #3 (these things may be picking up steam) -and lo and behold, the Pimp My Ride Trans Am!! I had to go up close to it. Unfortunately, dew was all over the windows, so I couldn't see the interior, but looks like scratches were all over the black paint of the T-top, and apparently whoever owns it (on the show, it was a chick who loooked pretty good) didn't like the thunder chicken WCC put on the hood, as it was peeled off....
  20. It's simply called a 2+2....a neighbor of my grandma had one the exact same color. It's a '65, part of the full-sized Pontiac lineup.
  21. The Today show: -Zephyr #2 -Ford EcoSport (I knew that thing I saw whoever it was driving wasn't an Escape) -64 Impala vert -62 Impala hardtop -2 Gran Torino 2-doors (both brown) -Ranchero of the same vintage (also brown)
  22. I was there in frickin' 02 seeing them still running those....and a few Intrepids of course. Down here, it ain't nothing but old Vickies....and a few straggler Caprices.
  23. Do you mean the one that is now simply the DTS with the new front and rear ends? And I like I said on the last board, who would buy a 2007 Star Chief? Pontiac, IMO, permanently shelved the "Indian" influences when they first decided to be the Excitement Division in the 60s. Also, were you saying all that expecting the car to be front-drive? Or do you just feel they should make a car that big?
  24. Notice the Monte Carlo has front-drive proportions....
  25. I was speaking on one in his year range (93-97, the second gen)....they used a 2.5L DOHC Mazda, and won comparos against all the Japanese-badged coupes. The first gens that used that crappy Vulcan were LXes, I believe....GTs were turbo fours.
