Agreed, this is the perfect place to use that Twin Turbo V6 in a new Syclone Pickup Truck. But then also take the Terrain and build a New Typhoon!

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com BMW i8 Cool or Poor Engineering Choices? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTNKiTrX0Vk BMW Technicians go over the BMW i8 on how to open the doors and the hood in the You Tube Video above. This made me just go WOW as questions flooded my mind on how in my own opinion this is poorly engineered. In reading the posted comments, it would seem many think like I do. From the comments on BMW is starting to be like Apple, you have to pay them to do anything even basic like fill washer fluid to the most common broken item is the manual door release if your fob release fails to work or you need to get out in an emergency to the certified BMW technician who calls the door switches and hood latches the most flimsy he has ever seen. It even takes two people to open the hood to get access to basic items to refill and you have no way to hold it up unless you use two Phillip screw drivers in hing holes to hold the hood up. Do not think about pushing just anywhere to close the hood as you can crack or break the hood and if you do not have even pressure on both sides by the two people you end up with flex which will crack the hood. Just getting to the Hood release requires releasing manual pull cables one on each side of the door jam. Over all, I did not see one positive comment on this car from the posting and it really shows how crazy BMW is to think people will pay the type of money for this auto that is so poorly engineered. Watch The Video! Sound Off, what do you think of these items?

WOW, I do agree, Seattle has reduced street parking by 15% to make bike lanes and increased tax's on parking garages to where now the average month parking pass is $225 and the average day cost to park is $22. This is just crazy and I have now changed over from a parking pass paid by my company to a bus pass as I spend less time going and getting from my house to work on the bus than in my own car. It does suck as I now have to plan more to work from home when I need to run errands or deal with personal business and I have to make sure I leave to catch the few buses going to and from my area of where I live. I do walk more but then working out was never an issue as I am in the gym most days for 2 hrs anyway. Cannot imagine not working out. Yes this does suck as I enjoy driving. I have come to also resent the over kill of the liberal idiots that think driving is a right not a privilege earned. Washington state now allows the tax payers to pay for translation in 85 languages. WTF, How do you expect these people to communicate with police or fire if they cannot even read the road signs? On top of this, they are such bad drivers as you find them in the far left or middle lane driving 40 on a 60 freeway. THIS IS NOT A RIGHT, But a Privilege earned. Either way they need to change as not everyone should be driving as some people could care less so this shows the need for taxis, uber, trains and planes. Still I agree with you drew, driving less sucks for me since I enjoy it so much.

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Oil Price Drops, Worst To Come? CNBC had a great review this past week on Oil Supply, markets and where the cuts will come before we see prices rising and why does 15 barrels a day matter? CNBC Top Oil Analyst story with video http://www.cnbc.com/id/102414761 Capex Cuts will determine oil's bottom: Analyst. http://www.cnbc.com/id/102417058?utm_content=bufferb47df&utm_medium=social&utm_source=linkedin.com&utm_campaign=buffer While we have seen gas prices rise again in the last few weeks, Inventory supply and the need to do something with all the oil being pumped in the US will cause prices to drop again. By the end of the week Oil per barrel on both WTI and Brent crude had dropped by as much as 2.4%. So if the politicians have their way with raising gas tax's when would we see gas return to $4 to $5 dollars a gallon? Some say 2nd quarter of this year, others are saying towards the end of this year but all seem to think we will see gas go back over $3 a gallon for sure in 2016. Washington state is considering a 32 cents per gallon gas tax increase to fund expanded road projects and general fund. Whether it passes the fall vote or not will be another thing and the fact that citizens are tired of funding things such as the 500 million spent on Illegals medical costs and other run away social services along with the under funding of schools and the education of future workers of America. What are your thoughts? Review the stories, listen to the videos and sound off on what you think Oil will do to this country and the direction of Auto's!

VW News: Volkswagen Still Set On Loss-Leader Phaeton
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Sadly for the Phaeton the interior space was just too little. A big person like me could never get comfortable in the front seat let alone sit in the back seat. Plus this auto should be competing against Buick, Acura, Lincoln, etc.- 43 replies

LOL, I would have no problem driving older fords that I like better than this current ford. Plus the over hype of the aluminum and what I have seen as lack luster real world MPG of their small boosted engine line makes me pass on what they are doing.

VW News: Volkswagen Still Set On Loss-Leader Phaeton
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
S-class has been the best car in the world for the past 30 years. I don't think the best in the world can be overrated. Few cars have had that long a run at the top of their class, 3-series is probably the only other one. The Phaeton can't even compete with the A8, there is no point in VW making it. They should put those resources into the Jetta and Passat and get them more competitive. Considering how MB whores out the S class to the Taxi Fleets of Europe and has to so heavily discount them to sell here, I would like to see metrics that show this is truly the worlds best selling luxury auto besides just pointing to sales numbers. If it is such the best car you speak of, then why do you not see S class auto's past 5 to 10 years on the roads? Is it possibly due to them not being able to last? Give more than just pointing at Sales numbers please.- 43 replies

Thanks for the pictures Drew. Now it really looks like a minivan to me. Guess their older block body style was not that bad after all as I like it better than this in the lite blue. -

Chicago Auto Show Reveal: 2016 Honda Pilot: Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
I will have to give them credit it is a much better looking interior and exterior than their last version. Thought I clearly see the Minivan shape look. Maybe a bit to jelly bean. But nice auto none the less. Far better than their car line. -
It's an expense that the general public doesn't need. Plugging in 2 ipads in the back doesn't put that big a load on the electrical system. But when you add stereo stuff and other things like if you add an alarm or remote start due to the auto not having it, I have found in the past that if not done right by a person with attention to details it can come back and bite you in the arse! that is a question of installer competence, not electrical system capability We'll I did find one place that I wished I had a beefier electrical system. On my 94 GMC Suburban. I had purchased new current headlights for them and they caused the wire harness to burn out. So had to buy a new wire harness for the engine bay that could support the head lights. Other than that, you are correct installation competence is an important part in success with 3rd party products being added. It is amazing the quality of wire used for beefy stereo systems too.
