November 2014: Toyota Motor Sales
I was simply comparing the numbers on the first chart (total sales) with the numbers on the second chart (North American built sales). Corolla --> 25,609 - 25,608 = 1 Camry --> 28,846 - 28,842 = 4 Got it, now I see where you were looking. Thank you for pointing me at it.

15 New Car Auto's to Avoid
G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com 15 New Car Auto's to Avoid Forbes published their 2015 list of 15 cars to Avoid. #15 - Smart ForTwo - due to premium fuel, under powered and lack of space #14 - Scion iQ - oddly aligned seeting for 3, lack of room, poor quality, etc. #13 - Nissan Titan - Outclassed in every way by US trucks and worst values. #12 - Nissan Armada - Poor reliability, ownership cost, fuel economy and quality #11 - Mitsubishi Mirage - Sluggish engine, performance, quality, value #10 - Mitsubishi iMiEV - Rock bottom residual value, lowest performance score for EV's #9 - Lincoln MKT - Below average quality, reliability and depreciation #8 - Lincoln MKS - Below average performance, quality, value and residual value #7 - Jeep Wrangler - Poor passenger comfort, harsh ride and handling, noise, value & quality #6 - Jeep Patriot - poor performance, reliability and below average residual value #5 - Jeep Compass - poor performance, reliability and below average residual value #4 - Fiat 500L - poor quality, performance, reliability and below average resale value #3 - Dodge Journey - poor quality, performance, reliability short and long term. #2 - Cadillac XTS - Poor Value, Quality, performance and resale value #1 - BMW 7 Series - Poor Handling, Highest Operating cost, worst value and below average performance Forbes compiled this list based on ratings from consumers reports and JD power. They looked at these models compared to like models in the same segment in coming up with these top 15 versions to avoid. An interesting observation is that all of these auto's are also known to have electronic issues according to their research making them more expensive than normal to fix once out of warranty. Now that you have Forbes top 15 autos's to avoid for the 2015 model year, what are your top 15 cars to avoid in the coming new year?

November 2014: Subaru of America, Inc.
They have hit their Marketing just right with the let rain wash your car and we will still just keep working and taking you to do what ever you want to do. The High Tech workers seem to buy up Subarus big time I have noticed. If you are into the outdoors, camping, skiing, etc tech workers seem to be buying up AWD auto's like Subaru. If you are not into those things then it is the luxury makers.

November 2014: Volvo Cars of North America, LLC
With China owning them they will stick around for a while, but they could of easily become a foot note in auto history. Eventually even with auto companies in China, we will still see another round of merges and deaths. There are still way to much manufacturing space on building auto's and too many companies. Be interesting to see who survives.

November 2014: General Motors Co.
WOW, You really must not have looked at a Cadillac recently. Interiors are far ahead of anything MB, BMW or Audi does. Ugly parts? you mention they are fantastics cars but flawed and no clear details. Be Specific rather than another SMK who just pounds the GERMANS are Superior and moves the goal post when Cadillac is beating them. You have plenty of time and will not loose out on posting so take the time to state specific issues you feel hurt Cadillac. Back this up with facts of comparison against the German brands. Audi are re-badged VW auto's so how does that not make them at best a Buick rival more than a Cadillac rival? Since you state there are 100 things, post some of them. The only thing I will agree with you on is that they need to sell the ATS - L edition here in the states. Create a CTS - L edition also.

November 2014: Maserati North America, Inc.
WOW, "Now a strong competitor in its class with viable offerings in new segments, Maserati continues to attract new customers." So until today they never were a competitor let alone a strong one? Interesting marketing speak. Someone really needs to get a proper writer doing these releases.

MB GLE Coupe fighter to BMW X6 be any uglier?
G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Reading this on Motor Trend and I have to ask when will this ugly CUV Coupe fad end? http://wot.motortrend.com/1412_bmw_x6_fighting_mercedes_gle_coupe_prototype_shows_lots_of_skin.html With stated AMG version using a twin turbo V8 engine, this brought up many questions for me to wonder about. Is the big engine V8 powered CUV / SUV's going to become the sole domain of Trucks or will the governments rewrite the spec to force the death of V8's? How does this offer any real benefit over the more traditional CUV/SUV? Can the market really justify / afford to support so many niche auto's? Does this tend to give view into what could cause future money waste and force MB and BMW to have to pare back their product offerings once the market stops buying the less than useful niche products? How does a Jelly bean style fit into MB style language as this seems to be generic looking and stand out at the same time? So many questions and no real clear cut answer. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Will this be a winner for MB or more of a distraction? Sound Off!

BMW News: BMW Planning To Offering Plug-In Hybrid Versions Across the Range
So it will be a 62 mile range in pure electric only mode. YAWN, The VOLT beats it there. The only thing that would be better is if they really deliver on offering this power train in all models. GM needs to role out the VOLT powertrain to CUV, SUV, Full size SUV and Pickups and cover FWD, AWD and RWD models. No reason not to move to this powertrain sooner rather than later. The torque of the system will far out-way traditional engine performance alone.

Drooling Diesel Fuel.....
Amazing to see it in such fine shape. Nice car for what it was. Cracks me up to see a CB in this car. Does anyone know if it was an actual GM option or aftermarket?
