I have wondered about the same thing and have not found anything that shows the 35 million bonus that went out to the CEO who then stepped down a few months later was returned. I doubt it.

What Would Buy Instead- Audi A8L Edition
G. David Felt replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
For some reason the jpeg didn't show up.. but all fixed See it now! WOW that is one ugly luxury dealership. Reminds me of Cadillac old dealerships and they suck. Yea I love my cadillac dealership as the people are awesome, but the building that was an old Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile and Hummer dealership and now just Cadillac but really needs to be rebuilt. I really wish Cadillac NA would step up to the same level of service Cadillac is touting in China. http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f13/cadillac-treats-chinese-shoppers-vips-sales-up-62-a-49883/ -

The top dealership is what I would like to see for all Cadillac dealerships. The bottom is nice but also says dated. I like the top flow and look. -
Unions have this right, at this point NO BONUS should be paid out as VW is clearly not selling like they used to and they lied to the point of clearly hurting the company world wide. All Bonuses should be canceled for 2015 and 2016.

What Would Buy Instead- Audi A8L Edition

While I love the stand alone dealerships, I do wonder about this as I am seeing more and more MB dealerships that also have Sprint and Smart cars on them as MB seems to be going to this one stop all dealerships. Makes one wonder if BMW will be doing this as they move to have BMW/Mini in one building. Personally I love the stand alone Dealerships we see in China. Cadillac does need this also. I love my Doug's Northwest Cadillac, the people are great, but the dealership is an old Cadillac, Buick and Oldsmobile building that is now only Cadillac. Luxury this does not say to me! -

Very true, the CT6 is a competitor to the E-Class and can compete fine there. The CT8 will come in the future once Cadillac fills out their portfolio. -
Chevrolet News:Spying: Chevrolet Bolt Comes Into Focus
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
225 mile range based on the 9hr charge time and battery capacity posted to date. We have learned so much and now know that this EV will be a real product hitting dealer lots at the end of this year. Cargo Capacity.- 31 replies

Just read on Tesla's web site that the Tesla 3 will be a 0-60 auto at 6 sec. The Chevy Bolt has been stated 0-60 under 7 sec. So this is going to be a very interesting battle on how they truly end up hitting their numbers. One area that BOLT beats Tesla 3 is in Interior capacity. The BOLT has been stated now as with the back row folded down you get 56.6 cubic ft of cargo capacity. Tesla is estimating 50 cubic ft of cargo with the rear trunk, seats folded down and the small trunk in the front. This is going to be an interesting story to watch as GM and Tesla push getting their auto's out into the market place.

Interesting story on why GM will beat Tesla. http://www.newsweek.com/2016/04/22/tesla-general-motors-electric-car-sales-model-3-chevy-bolt-447054.html This will be a wait and see for me.
-
Bummer, but totally understandable. I really hope the BOLT takes off and GM can expand production and expand auto options. Here I think GM needs to take a page out of Tesla Playbook and build a Chevy Roadster EV! This would then require a major investment in the plant.

Buick News: The Reasons Buick Passed On the Avista
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
No offense taken guys, I consider myself a manly man and love my V8 Powered AWD Trailblazer SS. With that said and those that know me know I have all SUVs with V8's. Just the future is cool and I do see us eventually going to EVs. They are cool and in time with tuning and engineers pushing the limits we will see EVs surpass the petrol motor I believe. Here is my baby all cleaned up for Spring! -
Buick News: The Reasons Buick Passed On the Avista
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
But it will never sound as good as a LS engine. Electric and even the Turbo 4 engines as good as they are will never live up to the sound of a good old V8. Just watch the video of he Venom setting the convertible speed record as it passes by. No Tesla would ever sound that good. Not so sure about that, but this Worlds Fastest Electric Corvette has that lovely Jet sound as it sets a new world record. -

Guess we have more competition. Did not realize that Fisker Karma along with Bob Lutz revealed their new Electric car to go into production this year also. VLF Destino

All improvements are good. I do wonder if it is enough with Karma releasing their Generation 2 car this summer. Gen 1 Web Site

We'll at least it lost the complete jelly bean look but then I really do not care for the Tesla 3 look so it is the same for the new Tesla S series. To me the front still looks like it got punched in the nose.

I would like to see the over all mechanics of how the Tesla works just like we see for the BOLT. Very cool stuff at least to me from an engineering standpoint. Us engineering nerds love to see how things work. Agree, Buick Avista with the EV Motor I suggested would be a lovely ride and would be an incentive for me to buy it.

G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com EV Group Buying, Is it the Right Thing to do from a State / Federal Level? Washington, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee all have instituted Group buying programs of EVs to push the cost of the EV auto down significantly. Per an editorial on Green Car Reports about this very same thing the quote the following: "The Colorado counties of Boulder, Adams, and Denver cut the price of a 2015 Nissan Leaf S for residents by $8,349. Combined with Federal and state incentives, that effectively reduced the price of this model from $29,860 (including destination) to less than $13,000." Dealerships saw sales jump 10 fold in response to the heavy discounts. FCA took a different approach with leasing in Bulk in the state of california the Fiat 500e according to another story. With state and federal discounts, this reduced the monthly lease payment to $82.75 a month for 10,000 miles and only $1000 down. If you own a non FCA auto you get a $1000 credit so ZERO cost to get into a leased 500e compliance auto according to FCA for the state of California. The 500e per FCA is a true compliance auto allowing them to continue to sell in the state till newer auto's with better MPG and no emissions are available. So with these amazing deals, thousands are jumping on the EV bandwagon. The Question that started this off is, should the states and Feds drive incentives to push this change over to EV's? Should group buying become the norm so as to drive the selling of EVs? The west coast is already more electrified than any other place in the nation. Should the taxpayers fund this conversion to EV auto's or should market forces be allowed to drive what people drive? Sounds Off.

I'm talking about the places that are nearly an hour from a WALMART. Like the super rural areas..in mountains and such. I don't see places like that converting to anything very well yet having to buy a vehicle that is electric is crazy to them. I just think it will be a difficult transition period for the 1%(probably most like 0.1%). Then these people also need mechanics but the mechanics are also in the boonies and have never worked on anything 2010 or newer... Valid point, yet at that time, when the other 99.9% of the people are on electric, they will then probably have finally seen an electric auto and are more tolerant and willing to consider. Bigger bang for the buck is getting the bulk of dense city dwellers to move over to electric auto's first.

For the privileged: The S-Class Coupe Convertible Driven
G. David Felt replied to Suaviloquent's topic in Mercedes-Benz
They are not video screens on the seat back, it is the air intake for Airscarf. I don't think they even offer back seat video screens on any of their 2 door cars. OK, I can appreciate new tech, but having never heard of an Airscarf, what is it supposed to do? Cool the driver / riders neck? I am being honest here, I have no idea what this is or the purpose as in the picture to me and yes I do wear glasses, it looks like a small video screen. Appreciate the explanation.
