CNET has an awesome write up by a reporter that has driven both the BOLT and the Tesla 3 and he is very positive on both. This drives home the LoveFest as he calls it of the two auto's and that Musk probably does not see the BOLT as a competitor to his Tesla 3 as he is known to support getting more EVs out to the public. It is an interesting piece for sure. I think many of us agree that the BOLT will come fully loaded with minimal if not no options. This compared to the Tesla 3 that will have options and retail much higher than the BOLT. Currently Tesla is on track to cross the 200,000 EVs sold by spring of next year which means there will be NO Federal Incentive for the Tesla 3. This car will sell for more than the BOLT. I am interested in seeing the Real World driving tests as you know the auto Magazines are going to compare and test against each other the Bolt to the 3 and declare a winner even though this is an apple to orange comparison. I will say that GM needs to also list out all the incentive benefits available for auto purchases like Tesla Does: EV Incentives Thought I do see this is not updated as they do not have the Washington state listed with it's free Chargers in homes.

Hahaha well it will only be to the douchy posts..and once a day..tops..because a douche bitched and wined about it because his internet feelings got hurted...from a little "-1". So then the little DOUCHE is BallLess! After all this country was created on Debate, freedom of speech for all. So if you cannot handle the heat get out of the Kitchen McFly!
-
Bummer, I would love to see what you built but cannot for some strange reason.

^^^ Douche to all then!

While it is a clear valid point, a better discussion can be had if one is to explain their thinking and who knows, maybe you will want to change from a down to an up vote based on the debate. Both have their point, I just like to better understand why people are thinking the way they do.

But Cubical, according to the Idiot Parents raising kids now, EVERYONE has to Win and EVERYONE must be given a trophy. This whole falsehood of everyone is a winner is creating fragile kids that end up doing stupid things. We need and should be able to down vote a persons posts. I do think it should also go hand in hand with an explanation so people can understand where and how others see their posts.

Seattle the evergreen state and one of the largest markets for Electric behind California is now being hit by another item. Those in the news that feel the $7500 credit by the feds and the no sales tax on electric auto's in this state is an $11,000 freebie that is NOT Needed and should be done away with. Dori: Tesla hubbub is an $11,000 'scam' on Washington taxpayers It is an interesting read and one that hits some honest real points. Should the people be subsidizing the EV auto? I honestly love the Idea of an EV Auto and am excited to test drive a BOLT. Wife is loving the idea for it as her normal commuter auto and errand runs auto. Tesla is just a Soulless looking Jelly Bean of an auto that sits way to low to the ground for me. I am happy for Tesla and hope they do well but am more excited by the CUV Bolt than the Tesla 3 car.

Tesla Has An Interesting Legal Strategy On Direct Sales
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Oh good it is bad enough to work with a Dealer franchise but even worse to work with a independent contractor that is not connected to the MFG. I can see where at times it may help but also many times where it will be much worse. UPS for all their good and bad their drivers as a whole are pretty decent getting things there due to their inner organizational complexity. But many other package services who use drivers who are private contractors their service can be a total nightmare most of the time. On Trac on the west coast is a real burn on shippers. While cheaper so much is late or delivered wrong. Roadway Package failed miserably on the independent contractor. It is hard enough to control a franchise but even more difficult to deal with contractors. Tesla certified repair / service centers are Pet Boys locations. Not sure who they use on the east coast but pet boys here is anything of a service level experience I would expect on a 100,000 dollar auto like the model S. I have tried them a few times and will search out a Napa or O'Reilly rather than deal with the crappy service and poor parts inventory of pet boys. I personally think Tesla will find great pain as they grow in using a cheap ass company like Pet Boys.- 11 replies

Tesla Has An Interesting Legal Strategy On Direct Sales
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
West coast your dealerships are open 7 days a week, service is Mon to Saturday and the parts departments are open 10am to 7pm Mon to Sat. I love that I can buy at any time and for the most part get service and parts when I need them. No need to close down on a sunday.- 11 replies

That is my point exactly. I love my Trailblazer SS AWD, but hated that they slapped SS on every product line and most were terrible. You just cannot put a bigger or more powerful engine in an auto and think it will be fine. MB can live off their history but whoring out everything and selling from base entry level eco box to top of the line will come back to hurt them.

Cadillac has 3 VSports and 2 Vs (IIRC). Mercedes is going to have FORTY-EIGHT AMGs. Do you REALLY not see any difference? Because Cadillac is weak. As are Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, etc. Mercedes for years has been the best at smooth ride, bank vault solid luxury. So now they decided to be the best at performance too. This is about sticking it to BMW and Porsche. They don't want people going to the former Ultimate driving machine or to Porsche for their performance luxury car, they want them. These are big spenders that Porsche conning to spend $1,000 on leather trim air vents. Now these people will buy superior Mercedes-AMG's. I have seen plenty of examples of MB being anything but bank vault solid luxury, but for sake of argument, they are and you are OK with them leaving the Luxury department and becoming another version of Chevy or Ford with all their models?

If I was Lincoln, I would pull a page from Tesla and offer something special to the first 40K customers who are willing to put down say $1K dollars. Then you see who is really interested versus being a buyer. I wish Chevy would do something like this for the BOLT.

He said they would be "cheaper & faster" than ICE cars. Are you saying that's the case in the areas you mentioned above? - - - - - There are real AND perceived disadvantages to the EV that will take FAR more than a decade to overcome. IMO, EVs need to reach 20% of vehicle sales to be an established, recognized segment. Right now, they are an extreme niche, akin (in sales penetration) to convertibles, maybe less than even that (IIRC, converts sit around 1.6%??). Imagine all the hype/buzz RE Tesla...instead talking about convertibles and how they're going to "take over". Most manufacturers have one, people like them…. At the rate EVs are going sales-wise, we're looking at at least 25 years to come close to 20%, not less than 10. According to government statistics, the West Coast is already where people think we will be for Charging stations, DC rapid charge and sales. Current Statistics are as follows: California leads North America with 24% of new auto registrations are plug in Hybrids, 32 percent were pure EVs for 2012 the latest full year of detailed auto registrations. This is followed by Florida, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Hawaii, Tennessee all having new auto registrations of Hybrids and pure EVs that run at just above or below the 10% mark. Meaning new auto registrations in these states are approaching 20% of new auto sales. The overall green state winner is Washington state where power is in abundance and 100% renewable due to the excessive Hydro power, wind generation and sea generation of power. Washington state has their 5yr plan for pushing plug-in hybrids and pure EVs. EV Action Plan Washington State Here you get incentives to purchase and own the following models: EV Models: BMW i3 • Ford Focus Electric • Mitsubishi i-MiEV • Nissan Leaf • Smart ForTwo Electric Drive • Tesla Model S PHEV models: Cadillac ELR • Chevrolet Volt • Ford C-MAX Energi and Ford Fusion Energi • Toyota Prius Plug-In

So Five of the 1974 Chevy Nova 454 7.4L V8 then or would you rather have the Buick GS Stage 1? You're supposed to also ask, "would you like fries with that?" Would you like Fries, Onion Rings or deep fried Mushrooms with that?

Why is Chrysler not red since it is down? A bit surprised by the BUICK number as that I figured would be at least even. Cadillac is also a bit of a surprise. Fiat is to be expected and alfa is also down though I understand the current rating..- 49 replies

March 2016: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles LLC
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2016 Sales Archive
Wonder how much Stupid Sergio comments about the Dart contributed to the drop in sales? On top of this, I expect nothing but continued sales losses for Alfa and Fiat. Garbage in garbage out. Sergio will just continue to rape Jeep, Ram and Dodge for the profits to waste on his stupid pie in the sky brands that are not worth bring back from History.- 1 reply

Chevrolet News:What is the Future of the Chevrolet SS?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Makes to much sense to waste it on Smk. Its almost as crazy as people who say that the Camaro and ATS were gonna be cross-shopped. Brands be damned.. they are two totally different vehicles. I don't look at a Mustang and think.. "what's a 3/4 series have to offer" What you do not think a Ford Mustang GT500 or Camaro Z28 should be cross shopped with a BMW M4?- 105 replies
