I bought a Cruze diesel
Sorry to hear you had so many problems that it ended up being repurchased by GM. Guess it is true what they say, you either really do have an auto that runs with no problems or you get a lemon that is just one issue after another. Wonder how many they ended up repurchasing? It would be an interesting fact and a tall tell sign of what was going on with the car diesels in general. If these issues showed up here did they also show up in Europe or does Europe not require the same sensors? What is the real difference between the two versions?

New York Auto Show: 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43: Comments
I will give them Kudos that this is one of the nicer looking CUVs they have built or it could be the all Black look with very minor chrome accents. nice job to whoever did this at MB for a reserved but stricking look. With that said, how is this any different than Chevy putting SS labels on every line of auto they sell? MB used to be exclusive. They are now available at all income levels and as I heard today on the San Diego TV, they have MB auto's for every level of income with leases starting at $99.00 a month. So MB is truly nothing more than a Chevy, Ford or Dodge but from Germany.

BBQ Best Ideas for 2016
WOW, had no idea that they had so many types of Pizza Stones for BBQ, very cool idea Drew. I like this Webber Pizza Stone I found. So what shape of stone do you have? circle, square, rectangle, single size, medium or large circle or square? Love Burgers also, especially stuffed. Pass on the fish though, have no problem cooking it but do not like the texture or taste.

The First (of Many) Dream Garage Threads: Sub 2.0 Liters
Bummer, well I guess I will have to wait till the size gets bigger as I do not know of any auto's that fit me with engines under 2.0L. H'mmmmmmmmm

The First (of Many) Dream Garage Threads: Sub 2.0 Liters
The GM 2.0 = 1998 CC Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0T = 1998 CC Ford 2.0 Ecoboost = 1999 CC Mercedes 2.0T = 1991 CC I know they generally round up when expressing in liters, so I knew my choices were safe Yes, but it throws the whole premise of this series. Obviously 99% of 2.0 engines are under 2,000cc, but the limit is intended to encompass both limits. It must be under both units of measurement. Same when we get to 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, etc, etc. I will clarify this further in future threads. OK, I want to play but I am totally confused by this now. If the measure of unit is 2.0 liters or 2000CC does that mean it cannot be more or less? Or are you saying it has to be under 2.0 L and under 2000CC?

Tesla uses a 1-speed transmission. With electric motors you don't need gears. Actually there is reason behind having gears still. In off road applications you can use various ratios for better traction. Also there is research that shows longer life on electric motors comes from having them spin at lower RPM. Much like GM small block V8 that are torque monsters over Turbo charged engines, you can achieve much with the right design. I think that we will see much change in the electric auto's over the next 5 years. We have the BOLT first, then Nissan is getting ready to anounce their Leaf Version 2.0 with a 300 mile battery pack. Others especially the Koreans are working on their own long distance EV auto's. We are in Exciting times.

Interesting, this will for sure drive some debates and I bet SMK will side step the GLC with a 4 banger and still push his crazy everything must have a V8 or V12 engine. Be interesting to see how they perform with a turbo 4 banger in such a large auto. Tax's on displacement is stupid. just stupid.

I prefer this stuff. YES, that stuff rocks! Mmmmm I really do enjoy it! It's just tough to find around here for some reason. A store will have it and I'll buy it and then because salt isn't one thing you buy weekly or even monthly by the time I go to buy it again the store doesn't have it anymore! Found This: Morton's Hot Salt just can NOT be found so I made my own by what ingredients were labeled on the bottle. I bought some of the spices on line at www.myspicesage.com. Just buy the 1 ounce size with is $3.75-$4.00 each with free shipping. This recipe makes around 6 ounces and I just refill my old Morton's Hot Salt bottles with it. 9 teaspoons regular salt, 3 teaspoons Smoked Paprika (store bought), 3 teaspoons chipotle pepper ground (My Spice Sage, 1oz $3.75), 1 1/2 teaspoons Habanero Pepper powder (My Sage, 1oz $4.00), 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper ground (store bought). Mix this all together and store in airtight container. If you feel there's too much salt then mix everything else together then add salt in smaller amounts till it's what you like. This is to my taste, but it has the heat. Good Luck.

Cadillac wins midsize comparison about a blend of luxury and performance
Valid points Drew, your right especially in regards to people who only care about the badge and in regards to s-class versus ct6 where 99.9% of people will not be able to tell the difference. For me, I like my speed but also I just want a solid pull from a stop knowing I can get up to Highway speed quickly and merge into traffic. That I think is more important to people than the 0-60. I do feel that the 0-60 can at least give a person some sense of how fast they can get moving.

EV Auto's in B.C. Canada more Like California
G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com EV Auto's in B.C. Canada more Like California Laugh if you will but could it be that British Columbia of Canada is more like California than the rest of Canada? B.C. has recently not only endorsed the CARB of California much like the west coast but now they are allowing special passes to EV owners to drive in all HOV lanes. According to CBC News of Canada, EV auto owners are now allowed to travel all of B.C. Provinces HOV lanes passenger free. Premier Christy Clark announced a series of initiatives to get the population to go green. The following is being done starting now to get B.C. ahead of the world and reduce the effects of global warming on B.C. 6.8 million has been directed towards some of these initiatives: 1) 6 million to be spent on incentives to EV buyers 2) 890,000 to be spent to expand the recharging infrastructure. To make sure these incentives help the larger population, they have limited the price to no more than $77,000 dollars pretty much excluding Tesla and keeping the incentives focused on the Pure EV's or PHEV's such as the Volt. The goal is to be 100% EV and or PHEV auto's in B.C. within 35 years. The Premier arrived to make this announcement in her brand new Generation 2 Blue Chevy Volt according to CBC News. FULL Story This makes one wonder, could the US and Canada one day merge? Could we see a start of a huge infrastructure rebuild in a much shorter time frame as countries push to reduce the greenhouse gas? Could the next 15 years see the auto industry make a revolutionary change from petrol to EV auto's with advances in battery cells, range and the lower cost of electricity to run ones car? How will this affect states / provinces department of transportation when the fuel tax is gone. Will they change it over to an Electrical tax or will a mileage tax finally be the way to go for all auto's? What are your thoughts on this change by B.C. and the questions it brings up?

Cadillac wins midsize comparison about a blend of luxury and performance
Because it's the only metric certain people understand even if it is just as dumb a metric as peak horsepower expressed without RPM. Electric auto's could make the 0-60 metric the gold standard as Torque is 100% from zero and so then you do not have to worry about rpm, just how fast one can get there. Not really, because no one really drives in 0-60 mode. Commuting to work, my Buick Encore and a Tesla Model-S P90D have the same 0-60 times.... if we even get to 60 at all. That is True, but the thinking is if you want to compare auto to auto, zero to 60 in like auto's especially EV where you have 100% torque from zero makes them all pretty even so then the type of motor with amount of torque shows off the efficiency of the engineering so that you can give a consistent barometer on how the auto does. yes weight, aerodynamics, etc. all play a big role. I just think an EV zero to 60 is a solid gauge of an auto in comparison to petrol and the crazy RPM range of when you get full torque, full HP etc.
