Like how it used to be? Incredibly spacious with social distancing measures in place and for the wealthy again? Yeah...I could see that! And I got no problems with it! We all need to be humbled on this planet so we appreciate the REAL finer things in life. Which is living and breathing and being able to enjoy NATURE rather than material objects... And maybe when we could appreciate NATURE again by going BACK to BASICS for a looooong while, then maybe we could start upgrading again...

To be fair...the Dreamliner is of the next generation of passenger aircraft. The Airbus A350 is the last gen. The 757 and A321 is 2 generations ago. The DC3 I posted is 2nd (or even 3rd?) generation of passenger aircraft. The A380 is the next generation just like the Dreamliner except Airbus went on another economical philosophy with the A380 and Boeing went with another economical direction with the Dreamliner. It was a gamble for both manufacturers and Boeing was the one to correctly estimate that the Dreamliner would be the way to go for future passenger flying needs. That is why the A380 was retired. It was to replace the 747 physically. The Dreamliner was also to replace the 747...but in an airline company economical way to fly. To be fair, ANY passenger aircraft could be made to be more spacious and more luxurious and thus making them pleasant to be in, aside from old tech engines being more noisy and the like, and any passenger airplane could be made to cramp in as many passengers as possible making them less comfortable to fly in. Bombardier Aerospace which thanx to Boeing, sold that plane to Airbus and now its an Airbus A220 is also a next generation passenger aircraft. You got the jumbo jumbo in the A380 as the next generation. (now retired after a relatively short life span) You got the not so midsized but we will call it midsized next passenger airplane in the Dreamliner And then you got the smaller sized A220...And Im betting that Airbus would be upscaling it. The A220-100 seats 100-120 people. The A220-300 seats 120-150. A possible A220-400 would probably be made to replace the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus' own A321 to seat 180-220 or something like that.... And THAT is why Boeing tried to sabotage Bombardier Aerospace with the former C Series now A220 as the A220 is really the next generation. A Boeing 737 MAX was just a band-aid solution...literally and figuratively. Boeing had no answer for it. And stupidly, they made Bombardier literally GIVE it to Airbus. Their MAIN rival... Bombardier would have never been able to produce in volume the amount necessary they would sell. They could have partnered up with Bombardier. Instead, their ONLY rival equivalent got it. STUPID. Donald J. Trump levels of conning from Boeing. Donald J. Trump levels of stupidity from Boeing! And then they phoque up the band-aid solution that was the 737 MAX which in itself, was a band-aid job to "modernize" the 737! Searching for pics...I came across this https://www.airway1.com/a-stretched-variant-of-the-a220-may-be-the-solution-to-replace-a319neo/ And another interesting pic with a 747. Queen of the skies front and center with its replacement in the background that failed to replace... but the A380 is impressive nonetheless.

Who cares who rides in it. Ignore what the name represents. Appreciate the airplane. Its a 757. Its a beautiful airplane in its own right. Its got great graphics. And a hater of that name, myself included...and that hatred goes waaaaay back waaaaay before he was in any Presidential race. It goes waaaaaay before he was a TV celebrity. It actually goes back to when he made a cameo in a certain XMAS movie sequel... I never liked the guy. Always somehow knew he was a con and a fake. But I appreciate what he owns. All his private jets and helicopters past or present and the Trump Tower in NY are...truly awesome. I wish I could own some kind of high rise in New York City so I could plaster my family name on it. That is quite the accomplishment no matter what I think of the man.

Searching for all kinds of Boeing 747 pics on the net, because I love this airplane, I came across this 747 Airforce One pic that I found particularly interesting. Front and center is the President's ride while in the background is his own. I think its a great picture to share with you guys.

Im sorry. I did not mean to go down a negative path with Cadillac. We should celebrate these new Cadillacs. All these fiascos are in the past. The diesel route is just confusing to me...but in no way a fiasco. We have to celebrate you, Caddy! We have to praise you like we should! -
Kalo Pas-ha Kaló Pás-ha I looked at all the spellings that English speaking Greeks all over the world do when they use the Latin alphabet to spell Greek words but none of them actually make sense. Including google translate. The second spelling with the accents on the o and a are from google and its meant to accentuate the syllable. But google translate amongst other sources have Easter spelled Pascha. But an English person will never pronounce it the way it should. Pas-ha. Yes...like ha ha ha like laughing ha ha ha. . Not cha cha cha the dance. There is another way that its spelled commonly spelled. Paska. But the ending is not ka like how a Bostonian would pahk his cah at Hahvahd yahd...and if he had a 2020 Hyundai, he'd be using smaht pahk. Thank-you for your wishes. And yes...the Greek Orthodox Church still uses the Julian Calendar for some of our religious dates. Well...mainly Easter. And yes, every once in a while, our Easters fall on the same day while mopst of the time it ranges from a week to 5 weeks difference and always after. Sadly...like for so many others for so many other religious or other events for billions across our planet, social distancing measures will take precedence for my family and hence, no midnight church for the First Light and no feast right after tonight. No roasting of the lamb tomorrow as a family and friends affair... Its a new reality that has me in tears as I write this. I was just joking about the dredging up memories part. It was not "dredging up". It was happily reminiscing. Although some of those guys are still idiots, LOL, they were and still are great friends! I dont do Facebook, but I do the old fashioned telephone call. We email each other from time to time though... They stop and visit the restaurant too. XMAS and Easter we always communicate one way or other!!!

Well...this non scandal cost them slightly in the image department in that the engine had reliability problems and those that bought Cadillac cars with diesels in them left them with a sour taste in their mouths concerning Cadillac cars that actually Cadillac still suffers from that bad image...and hence diesel scandal from my end. So...more of a fiasco rather than a scandal and I get that. But two sides of the same coin nonetheless. -
That old VW (Rabbit? maybe? or was it the first time VW renamed it the Golf?) made me remember a good friend's dad's 1986 4 door diesel Golf and its cheap ass interior. Which was something like this. But people just loved to whine against Cavaliers of the time... Which was no better, but definitely not worse... Thanx @trinacriabob and @ocnblu for dredging up past memories of my dumb assed, German car loving, idiot Greek friends of mine. It is our Easter tomorrow which I might as well just call them up and wish them well...

Sometimes Cadillac decisions make no sense. A brand new, V8 engine, that Cadillac engineers done, with specs that Europeans do to their turbo V8 cars, that seem to fancy European car aficionados that Cadillac desperately want to attract, and 1 year and a half of offering said V8 engine, they kill it. I dont understand any of it. The ending of the CT6 (in North America) and the killing off the Blackwing V8 engine. They spent literally billions of dollars on the CT6 dating back to the bankruptcy and then some more billions (OK...maybe millions) on the new V8 but then they dont do anything with either. I get that they want to spend more billions on electric vehicles for their future going forward, but it still doesnt make sense. Why? They spent billions more on a no charge diesel option Escalade. That would be a new engine offering... DIESEL???!!! 1. Is there a market for a diesel engine in an Escalade? A 6 cylinder engine at that? a) maybe GM/Cadillac did a marketing research analysis... b) BUT I THOUGHT THAT CADILLAC WAS TO GO EV ALL THE WAY???!!! DIESEL???!!! On a supposedly luxury product???!!! For North America???!!! 2 . VW and Mercedes have had their diesel scandals recently which made a lot of noise here and in Europe. Cadillac had resisted diesel all these years/decades after their own diesel scandal of the 1980s... Cadillac was ahead of their own bloody curve for their own bloody EV image a decade ago when they offered a light hybrid system in their Escalade and now they want to peddle diesel when they want to go all out EV going forward? -

In contrast to this part of your post, I was at the Montreal auto show in January...mind you I didnt spend all that much time at the show, nor at Cadillac's display...but at the little time I did spend getting in and out of the CT4-V and CT5-V, there were virtually NOBODY, young or old, looking at these brand new offerings. Everybody, I mean everybody was at the Escalade. That would be this generation Escalade. Not the next gen that debuts in 2021. There was no mention of the new gen. Yeah...that's right, Montrealers young and old were salivating over the old, soon to be replaced 'Slade. A few boomers were checking out the XT6. I dont remember seeing the XT4. Not that I was looking out for it either. Im sure it was there, but I didnt really care. I was sad that literally nobody was checking out the new sedans. V versions too... But then again, it was only a small snippet of time as I spent no more than 5-7 minutes at Cadillac. But I kid you not, folk were pushing each other to get into the 5 year old 'Slade. I was smitten with both V cars. More with the CT5. I kinda wanted the Blackwing version CT5 to have the actual Blackwing V8 under the hood, because its a real deal Cadillac engine in a Cadillac car, but the next gen LT4 that will power the CT5 Blackwing may be a better engine choice overall. Corvette powered anything turn out to be awesome machines. That would also include LS/LT engine swapped foreign badged cars as well! I do see your complaint about the low firewall, cramped with a big driveshaft tunnel syndrome. At 5 foot 6and a half inches tall that I am, I too am not comfortable with it, although not as much as you as I am...well...short. -
Or we could ask Donald J. Tump...he's also a climate scientist. A more recent one at that. He's got more current information to work with... He's also a pandemic specialist. An economist connoisseur and lets not forget, an all time athletic great.

I also miss the 747. All my trips to Greece through-out the 70s, '80s and '90s were with 747s. Lufthansa and KLM. 3 trips to Greece in the 2000s were with Air Transat and they use ( I believe) the Airbus A330-300 and I think it was this airplane I was in. Its a good plane. It flies nice. But nothing like a 747. And I believe the 747 cruised at a slightly higher speed than the A330. With the A330 going to Greece was like 9 hours and coming back is like 10 hours, but I swear I remember the 747 with Lufthansa (direct flight like with Air Transat because KLM was a stop-over at Amsterdam) it was 8 going and 9 coming back home. 1 hour faster. Unless the route taken with Air Transat was a longer arc...

1. When this Chinese Covid19 thing comes to an end and life starts to behave normally again...how will humans view travelling? a) Will it be solely to go from point A to Point B? b) will humans joy ride ever again? 2. If that ever happens that joy rides will be part of our future, how will we be doing that? a) with gasoline powered vehicles? b) with BEVs? c) surely we must have all noticed that Mother Nature has slowly recaptured territory lost to humans and Mother Nature has started healing herself in just a short time d) with that being said...which way will we sway? Because its apparent that human activity has impacted Mother Nature in not a very good way e) Well...gasoline is dirt cheap again. Batteries are not.... Tough decisions going forward as not all industries will be going full steam ahead so the "R" word (recession) will be a very painful one this time around. 3. All that does not matter, I wanna know if RIDE SHARING would still be a thing? Somehow ride sharing is tied down with EVs...and all kinds of ride sharing, autonomous self driving pods are supposed to be our future going forward. But are we now gonna design social distancing autonomos driven pods? a) are we just gonna ignore how we pollute this planet? b) how close do we really wanna get with our fellow man after this Chinese Covid19 thing comes to an end? c) What kind of automobile future are we looking at after this Chinese Covid19 thing? I personally think EVs are gonna be more popular than ever. But it will take MORE time for THAT to happen as not too many folk will be buying new cars anytime soon. And the other incentive for ICE that is also AGAINST EVs is that gasoline is dirt cheap again. However, I think this ride sharing thing is DEAD. From phobias of being too close to a stranger in the same pod to disinfecting manias and phobias that will linger waaaay past our victory of this new plague that hit us. I dont think social distancing @ 6 feet is gonna be our new norm for our species, but I think we will be very wary of each other. And I think we will all become germaphobes. And THAT is the death knell for ride sharing pods. Just a thought that I just got.

These cars are not practising social distancing. Im calling the cops!

Bought a new toy to waste my money on
oldshurst442 replied to 2QuickZ's's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
I had one too. Well...mine was an '89 and it was just a Firebird. Meaning it had the 2.8 V6. It was red and I had the T-Tops. I had the same mags though. Bought it off a buddy back in the day. I loved the car. Too bad I wrapped it around a pole. -

And the least expensive E Class that houses a 4 cylinder under its hood is as pricey as a Chevy Impala States side in Europe... while also being a ubiquitous taxi cab in some countries' fleets... That reminds me of how a Biscayne was and Chevy also offered a top of the line SS version... And if Chevrolet had not been part of a bigger corporate umbrella, Chevrolet would be asking Cadillac prices for its SS version...which is what Mercedes does States side... And the 3 Musketeers could down vote this post too if they want too... Ill be laughing my ass off too if they do. Would prove some theories I got about this whole thing... -
Not private. But Ivy League-ish nonetheless. In many ways... McGill University is a public research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by royal charter granted by King George IV,[8] the university bears the name of James McGill, a Scottish merchant whose bequest in 1813 formed the university's precursor, University of McGill College (or simply, McGill College); the name was officially changed to McGill University in 1885. Well...you are not doing badly for yourself. You've picked up a used previously owned newish Lincoln MKC and a used previously owned newish Mercedes G Wagon for little money. You have greatly seized your opportunities, Id say... -
True dat. But if there is a God. I said if...there is God, even if you dont believe in His Holiness, you might find yourself in a pickle come Judgement Day at them Pearly Gates. But if there isnt God...I say, have yourself a blast dude! YOLO! (do kids even say that anymore?) Sounds kinky. You think she was watching them engage in those non-sexual sexual acts and when Lewinsky cleaned herself up and left the premises, Slick Willy and Hillary had hot sex ON the Oval Office desk? THAT might explain as to why she stood by her man... This song IMMEDIATELY rushed to my mind I love Janet. I miss her. I may like her music more than Michael's. And I LOVE Michael's music.
-
I believe she died of cancer. I wonder if she ever furthered her career... I think slick Willy probably ignored her sexual advances on him and she was just bitter and she sought revenge. After all, slick Willy is known to be promiscuous. Not a wholesome fella he is. Down right rapey I think... Imagine how nasty she must have been for slick Willy to refuse her advances? (Random Thought right there...) Another food for thought 1. what is more sinful? a) Slick Willy being unfaithful to his wife. A holy (monogamous) bond he made with her and God. b) Slick Willy engaging in "non-sexual" sexual acts with a CONSENTING ADULT. c) A "non sexual" sexual act that was clearly made out of the bonds of holy matrimony. Remember folk, sex is not a sin. "Depraved" acts are not a sin as long as they are done with your partner within the bonds of holy matrimony. d) backstabbing "friends" and other humans in order to gain monetary and career benefits. (This applies EQUALLY to Tripp AND to Lewinsky. e) Being home wrecker. Because in essence, Lewinski is a home wrecker even though Hillary decided to "stand by her man". (If I was Hillary, Id leave that SOB. Id leave that SOB a loooong time waaaaaaay before he held office. He was accused of rape and had allegations of cheating on her early on in their marriage.) And lastly... 2. Was this ever our business? Engaging in gossip last I heard, was also a sin...

Yes. There is a small minority of Greeks whose religious background is Roman Catholic. I do not know why the author chose to have a Priest of Greek origin in the movie. You taught me a something. I always thought he was a Greek Orthodox Priest. (The overwhelming religious majority for Greeks is Greek Orthodox. The remaining 10% is divided between Catholic, Muslim and even Jewish. So you could see as to why I assumed wrongly) I googled and wiki states that William Blatty wrote him as a Jesuit Priest. I was too young and maybe I did not care enough to realize his frocks are not Greek Orthodox and yes indeed, Catholic. Maybe the author thought that having Greek in the book and in the movie was more (because if I remember correctly, he talks to his mother in Greek at one point too) original than hearing Italian as the Italian culture was more visible at that point in time. Spaghetti Westerns and the Godfather. Maybe he chose Greek because the word Exorcist originates from the Greek language and he saw a connection there. I dunno. All I know, this is the only movie that still creeps me out. The last time I saw the movie, I was 25 years old and I rented it. 25 years old. I said then that Im a grown ass man and I will defeat this movie. (I saw it when I was younger 2 times prior and I had nightmares) Well, I wasnt afraid after viewing it...but. It happened to be a windy night that night and every time I heard a tree branch move outside my bedroom window, I woke up... I aint gonna see this movie again, in fear that I will be a sissy once again. I aint afraid of God, or the Devil. I have faith in God. The reason why I aint afraid of God is because I am a child of His. He made me. He made me in His own image. He says in His words that He is always there for me. My saviour, His son, died for all of our sins. And as it were, Easter is right around the corner. Jesus' words say for us to be as good as Christians as we could be. And well, I might not be perfect, and He (The Holy Trinity) knows Im not perfect and well...I do try my best to be a good Christian. And that is all He has ever asked of us. And THAT is why I aint afraid of God. Nor the Devil for that matter for that very same reason. But THAT movie...creeps me the phoque out.
