Yup...fall has arrived... NFL, NHL and MLB playoffs have started....I LOVE this time of year...not quite as much as I love summer...but close. and it only gets better... Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween (not that I like Halloween per se, its all those wonderful autumn colours and the countdown to XMAS that I love)...American Thanksgiving and Macy's Parade, XMAS and New Year's...and then its all down hill!!! With the exemption of the Super Bowl...but then again...the Super Bowl as of late have been all duds...so...yeah...the down hill continues... Until the NHL playoffs start...and THAT is when Summer is near again...because I hate Spring...I prefer the winter... I HATE the month of March. Even though my birthday is in March...the only thing I love about the Spring is Greek Easter. And Cabane A Sucre...Maple Syrup season.

Well...the French... The hockey team that was created for the French, but the French never took to them because they knew that it was a blatant cash grab when there were perfectly other Montreal based French hockey teams around and when the team's first hockey star was an Anglo by the name of Howie Morenz...to boot, the home arena was moved to the very Anglo Forum where the very Anglo Maroons played and the only way that the French took to the team was when the team won a couple of those Stanley Cups...just won their first game of the season against a team that I actually hate more than that French oriented team in Montreal... But this year is special...before ANYBODY says Im joining the Habs bandwagon...Im cheering for them...solely because my home team needs to bring back the Stanley Cup to my home city...my city needs this....just because we need to feel good about oursleves again... We are about to dump millions of gallons of waste in the Ste. Lawrence River and even New York State is peeved at us...so...please...that is 1 victory closer to the the city's countless amount...but the Hab's 25th... Its sweet that the Hab's 1st victory on their 1st game came at Toronto's expense... Big game Saturday though...The Bruins are next!!!

Well...then my beef aint with you then, so if I made it seem like Im poitning this rant at you...sorry...it aint you, babe. It aint you that Im looking for.

Then dont downvote if you think the downvote is NOT warranted... Its only disruptive if both sides are going at it with trolling each other... You don't. Then the terrorists win. According to some...I may be a terrorist. BTW...thanx Drew...I could read between the lines. And not just THE troll....many around from both forums that have clashed in here and the battleground where the war is being fought it seems is over the downvoting system... ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************* My beef is NOT like the others....mine is actually the idea of downvoting very valid opinions that are even fact related... Which is cool....like I keep on saying...however...its mind blowing that even an expression of an opinion gets downvoted... Again...like with my post on top...its just MY opinion....someone has to downvote it? Just read it. Either respond to it or move the phoque on!!! Downvote it...but respond to it at least... Why dont someone want to respond to it but just downvote it? The fear of being exposed? That is the thing...the person that has been downvoted ACTUALLY EXPOSED HIMSELF TO CRITICISM...and a guy like me...IS OPEN AND ACCEPTS CRITICISM...AND MORE TO IT THAN THAT...EXPECTS CRITICISM!!! On top of all that... Well...I dont like that person's action....why can't I downvote his actions? His actions are obviously just as an equal amount of disapproval as his disapproval of my opinion he does not like... And THAT is just CHILDISH behaviour...the downvoting of opinions without explanations... Its one thing to downvote a BLATANT stupid remark...its another to downvote an opinion just because you dont agree with it...and THAT gets my goat... And no...I dont feel like I accomplished something just by riling somebody... If any of you have actually read what I write...I ALWAYS post either links or pics or videos on my facts and how I get to the conclusions to base my opinions on... You ALWAYS know or get the feel of how my thought process works... Right or wrong or indifferent...my thought process is always shown to you by me...and if my thought process irritates you...cool...downvote away... But at least give me and SHOW me YOUR thought process so I could at least criticize and scrutinze you...and maybe have the opportunity to downvote you...but then again...the people that downvote and DONT expose themsleves are the ones that cherish their reputations the most... Which is why I get mad even more... Because I ACTUALLY SHOW YOU HOW I THINK...with FACTS...and the last couple of days...FACTS that I gathered even got downvoted...FACTS... When people are close minded or just plain trolls, THAT is what ruins the forums and/or the voting system...

LOL!!! Yeah..that Caddy and Rivy is what I prefer, but I wouldnt kick out the Ferrari outta my garage either.

How does someone cancel his account here?

Let it go? Why is it that important to you whether you get up or down-voted? There's no consequence. You don't lose posting privileges, you don't get banned, you are still able to use the forum in the same manner as everyone else. It's a non-issue and you're just allowing it to get under your skin. Opinions are fine and dandy, but you can't expect everyone to agree with yours as everyone is entitled to their own. And guess what, they don't have be vocal about it, nor should they be required to give you an explanation for your satisfaction. I don't remember this system ever being a problem until our recent influx of members from another forum. We've had this system for far longer than that, without complaints. Now, a select few of you are making a fuss about nothing. If you don't like the system and how things work, there are thousands of other forums for you to choose from. HA! And I got downvoted for that as well... Like...we all want to behave like adults...yet we downvote yet another valid opinion...like babies... I mean...who did not like my point of view? Like...I mean..we downvote like children just because an opinion was expressed? Yes that bothers me... I was NOT trolling... I did not like what YOU had to say...did I downvote you? Even when you kindly told me to leave your forum... This makes 2-3 people that told me to leave this forum...even when I post MY opinions...sure with a certain style that is kinda in your face sometimes...but sometimes with flamboyant pics... OK...I got the message... Have a nice life guys... I leave...

We post more nice vehicles. That's what.

I WANT disagreement. Problem is....there are some people that just downvote...WITHOUT explanation... Personally, if that person just does NOT agree with what I have to say enough to downvote me...I expect a reason as to why he would waste enough energy reading my post and then downvoting it... There is an ignore feature in the forums, right? Just ignore what I have to say if what I have to say bothers you that you have to not like it...seems stupid to me in today's society where we dont like an opinion because its different only to downvote it because we dont like it... So as to downvote in spite...is kinda stupid...therefore THAT does not belong in an internet forum...n'est ce pas? We DONT need to agree with each other. But that also means we should also DISCUSS... That is also called trolling...something that is not wanted by me on ANY forum... That would be from whatever angle... One angle is when someone says preposterous thngs JUST to rile someone...just to feel accomplished... The other angle would be the person just downvoting JUST to rile someone's feathers... Both angles are TROLLING... Both angles dont add much to ANY conversation...so what is the point in having a discussion then? I am happy with the downvoting system...it keeps trolls at bay. What I dont like is when an honest to goodness opinion gets downvoted...and THAT is fine too...but when an honest to goodness opinion gets downvoted...explanations are in order...because at the end of the day...we are ALL entitled to an opinion... How effin pretentious is it when I offer an opinion and it gets downvoted because the person downvoting does not like what I have to say? Add insult to injury...no reason is given... You dont see how effed up THAT is?

Karma News: Fisker Changes Name To Karma Automotive
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Karma
Seeing a Karma in person for the first time about 3 years ago left me in awe. My jaw dropped and stayed that way for the duration of the time the car left my eye sight. No MODERN car since the 1980s all the way to today EVER did that. No Ferrari, no Lamborghini, no millennial Aston Martins...and Aston Martins are gorgeous. Nothing. The Fisker is a wildly sexy car. OK...maybe a Countach 5000 Quatrovalvole and a R33 Skyline. In my defense for the sake of this post....I was a teenager when I saw that Countach in the 1980s...that is like seeing Heather Thomas live in the flesh...and we all know that boys my age in the 1980s had a Heather Thomas poster on his bedroom wall and a Countach... and the R33 Skyline is kinda like the forbidden fruit....- 10 replies

Very much an East Coast Problem as the West Coast uses Hydro. Very green for us. Not an entirety an East Coast problem. Quebec is all Hydro. and Hydro-Quebec supplies electricity for Up State New York, Maine, Vermont and some parts of Massachusetts. The only problem with Quebec and electric cars is that the charging stations network should be more elaborate than what already is...but its growing fast as Quebecois are seriously buying into this market. Teslas are everywhere. Volts too. Fusion electric and Sonatas are gaining steam. The Leaf....not so much. The new Gen Volt and Tesla Model X should really take Quebec into another level. Then there is the Bolt. I figure...as the Buick Encore is quite popular...that the Tesla Model X and Bolt will be the winners in Quebec when they will finally be offered. Why do I assume this while giving the Encore as an example? Because the Encore is sold as a premium urban vehicle as opposed to the Trax..the Chevy is not as popular as its Buick counterpart. The Model S is quite popular and "upscale" So...because the Encore is CUV...so is the Model X...and the Encore is a small "urban" vehicle...so is the Bolt... People that have the money to buy Model X they buy th Model X and those that want an affordable urban vehicle will buy the Bolt... Which makes me wnder why doesnt GM do a Trax like CUV that is like the Volt? I bet a Volt based Trax would sell far more than the Volt itself.

From La Presse...a Montreal French Newspaper TRANSLATION: In the wake of the scandal of 15 days ago, Volkswagen AG offers its customers a buy back for their diesel VW and a discount of $ 2,000 on a gasoline VW, learned La Presse. Since this week, it is possible to resell your 2L diesel car at a Volkswagen dealer's to buy a new gasoline vehicle In a chat with a salesperson of a Volkswagen dealer on the island of Montreal, La Presse has confirmed that the offer "applies to vehicle owners with Volkswagen 2-liter TDI from 2009 to 2015 and want to switch to a gasoline motor ". It is these TDI models that were singled out last week by the Environmental Protection Agency in the United States. That would be in Montreal....I dont know hw it is in your neck of the woods...but in mine...this is the news... For those that are actually interested in living in reality and not in some bubble... And do you folk know what that means? Its that if VW fixes these TDIs to where they are supposed to be...which is to run clean...but crappy...because THAT is how the TDI product from VW SHOULD have been in the first place...well...reality is that VW's TDI product that runs clean and within the law...is shyte... For those that ike their VW product the way it...and DONT WANT THAT fix...be prepared to NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT as its NOT LEGAL!!! If you folk have a hard time with that... DEAL WITH IT... You are all adults...sometimes life sucks...and its the stupid greedy VW AG CEOs that you have to thank in THIS case... DEAL WITH IT!!! -

So...the owners of Veedubs are gonna blame the lawyers for their faulty car? Or should the owners of faulty VeeDub cars be really blaming VW AG? 'Cause Im confused with how some of you folk wanna spin this? And what about the countries? I guess Americans should be blaming the EPA and their government for having high standards for clean air... Because...after all....'twas Obama and Bush and Harper and Al Gore and Angela Merkel and what the helll...Ronald Reagan that made these VW AG CEOs circumvent and cheat American clean air laws as well as the European clean air acts... What a psycho way of thought you folk have... But then again...I kinda have figured out OCNBLU...he is one sarcastic dude...maybe its his sarcastic way that he is posting in defence of VW... Whatever....enjoy your VW Diesel...just remember that if VW does not get it fixed...it will be off the streets....because it shoudnt be on it in the first place...and if it runs crappy...gt yourself a lawyer so VW can buy it off you... You know...THAT is an option...that your thoughtless government could actually force upon VW... -

Germany Could Ban 2.8 Million Diesel VWs From Its Roads
oldshurst442 replied to ccap41's topic in Volkswagen
You talk about how the EPA will differ from Germany? HA!!! Europe does not even test properly... http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/03cdb23a-6758-11e5-a57f-21b88f7d973f.html#axzz3ndV0NABj The Volkswagen scandal has exposed failures by the European Commission and several of the EU’s national regulators to enforce legislation outlawing the defeat devices used by the German carmaker to cheat in diesel vehicle emissions tests. The Financial Times contacted the national regulators responsible for vehicle certification in seven of Europe’s biggest carmaking countries to ask whether they had ever conducted inspections for defeat devices since the European Commission declared them illegal in 2007. Germany, Spain, Slovakia and the Czech Republic said that they had not done so. Britain and France were unable to comment. Only Italy said that it had carried out some inspections. Europe’s failure to crackdown on software-based defeat devices is triggering calls by some politicians for a US-style regulator to police exhaust fumes. The EU’s weak regulatory regime around certification of new cars allows carmakers to shop around country by country and choose the national regulator that will approve vehicles through testing. That regulator’s decision is then applied across the EU’s 28 member states. Some politicians are concerned these arrangements enable carmakers to seek out the most lenient national certification regime. Politicians are particularly worried about potential conflicts of interest arising from how the carmakers pay for the certification work. They say these payments create an incentive for national regulators — or the private companies often tasked with doing the work — to grant approvals too easily. “The problem is the system we have created in the EU, where there seems to be a very perverse incentive for national testing authorities to be as easy-going as possible to attract [car companies],” said Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy, a Dutch member of the European Parliament’s environmental committee. Mr Gerbrandy is calling for the European Commission to have sweeping new powers to conduct intrusive vehicle inspections. The revelations about VW are an acute embarrassment for EU policymakers, who have been compelled to ask why it took the Environmental Protection Agency, a US regulator, to expose defeat devices. The German authorities said they only had a mandate to oversee the current EU framework on NOx emissions through laboratory tests, and could not conduct their own on-the-road monitoring. A significant discrepancy in a car’s NOx emissions during laboratory and subsequent on the road tests would point to the use of a defeat device — something the EPA identified with VW in the US. -

Hyper....you keep on harping on the government... It aint OVER regulations dude... Finally, you have come to admit VW commtied fraud...yet still refuse to call a spade a spade... Because you still have this fantasy to blame government... The government HAS to enforce tight regulations because greedy corporations are always trying to slip a fast one, trying to edge the envelope..... Boy...the way you tire of people calling out corporate greed, I tire of people 1. defending corporate greed 2. people that blame the government for everything that goes wrong... Its ironic....you probably hate on society that relies on government to help them yet you hate on the government that tries to help also... You think its NOT A BIG DEAL? Dude...its a freakin' criminal act of the highest degree regarding fraud, false advertisement and damaging the environment... Many European countries are on the offensive against VW AG...regarding consumer fraud and for damaging their environment...France, the Scandinavian countries, Italy, and Germany....lead by the UK. Yet YOU are quick to downplay it...and smile because you feel it was clever...like a joke... What do you think government is there for? If NOT to protect its people...(yet you probably think its a militia's job tp protect the people from the government) WHat about the environment? Who should be in charge to oversee crappy corporate CEOs that dont care for the environment? Please dont tell me you have faith in greedy CEOs.... You even admit that it was a clever thing for VW CEOs to circumvent... Clever in this case is CRIMINAL!!! WHAT is it that YOU dont UNDERSTAND that these laws are in place to MINIMIZE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT? Or do you think that these high EPA limits are there just for shytes and giggles and just to prevent CEOs from buying there next toy? Because THAT is how YOU sound like... YOU want to give free reign to fraudulent people like these VW CEOs? AND THIS IS NOT HAPPENING FROM THE USA like YOU are trying to make it as Americans are leading these campaigns against VW AG... IT REALLY IS EUROPE!!!! -
Im really not into this segment. But Ill play. Id choose the Fiesta ST. And it be like this. But that is already taken. I like to be unique. Chevy Bolt it is. Quebec is a very good place for electrics.

THAT would be GM...and the myriad of problems that GM had...which WAS bad communication between all the management levels and production and engineering and quality control...corporate greed was also a problem chez GM too... Now...VW...in THIS case...its NOT about communication breakdowns as BOSCH warned them that if they go on ahead with this software install, its downright fraud and criminal... Blind eyes and deaf ears does NOT qualify as communication breakdown....its corporate greed. Another blast from the past to lighten up the mood with another song that keeps with a theme of what was said. Communication Breakdown
