  1. Awesome, you're here! Let's keep the messiah thing on the DL... my life insurance policy doesn't cover lightning strike as a result of blasphemy. If you're the messiah, and a lightning strike is considered an act of god, would that make it an act of you? If so, then I think it would be covered as a self-inflicted accident. You're going to give me an aneurysm trying to sort that out.
  2. Well with the current Camaro, GM will sell you the parts to any higher trim level. So right now you can put the suspension parts and brembo brakes from an SS 1LE on a base model V6.

  4. Yes.. I was referring to the grille work. I personally think the Impala is one of the best looking cars on the road.. and that's not because of my bias either The Impala is a great looking car. I think that and the Regal GS are two of the best looking FWD vehicles on the road. RIght up there with the Mazda 3 and 6.
  5. Doesn't the Impala have satin chrome plating or something so it's not as gaudy looking? I thought it was different than typical chrome trim somehow.
  6. Happy to see you made the move. I can't believe how long we put up with MT the way it is. Looks like we're getting good momentum moving over here now.
  7. I think the thread can make an exception for a base Camaro SS automatic. $35k was just a round guess. The new camaro pricing isn't even released yet.
  8. The band sounds like fun, if you were close by and needed a singer I would absolutely volunteer my services. We like bringing over friends to jam on practice days so hit me up if you're in the Baltimore area! It's actually an interesting line-up. My brother plays drums and does most of the vocals (34) and my dad plays bass (61). Our family friend plays lead guitar (26) and he's the youngest in the band. Our rhythm section is incredible (how many old guys you know can nail Flea bass riffs??) and we play songs most bands wont even attempt (Riders on the Storm, Superstition, Piano Man, all sorts of stuff. We just reached a 40 song set list and are looking to start playing out. When we record our demo I'll definitely share it.
  9. Scooby Doo
  10. Pic for reference:
  11. That GT-R was outrageous. Sport bikes horrify me, I've never even had the desire to learn to ride a regular motorcycle, much less one that cracks 200 mph in what, 15 seconds? Less? Absolutely nuts.
  12. Good to see you over here. The forums actually WORK. What a novel concept, right?
  13. It's not. It's a direct fit, we've done for a customer. Oops, well I feel foolish! Does the grille offer anything beyond cosmetics? It has cutouts for brake cooling, but I don't know if the Z06 has special ducts to take advantage of it.
  14. There's a lot to like about the Sonic RS. I've sat in several of them, the sport seats are simply awesome--full leather with GM's synthetic suede inserts. The manual shifter feels great moving though the gates, the steering wheel feels good, and the overall interior is quite roomy for front occupants. I'd love to have one as a go-cart, haha. My issues mainly pertain with the lack of added power. The aggressive gearing is a mistake, the car turns 3500-4000 rpm at any highway speeds. That's basically a deal breaker for me as engine drone gives me an incredible headache after an hour, not to mention it ruins highway fuel economy (34 mpg vs 40 for standard gearing). The Sonic is due for a midcycle refresh, and I'm hoping the powertrain lineup gets revised. An RS with the new 1.5T and near 40 mpg again would be very appealing.
  15. Would you go with the turbo-4, V6, or stripper V8 model?
  16. How did you go from a super efficient compact to a midsize suv?? I'm a fan of the current Cruze. Had a 2LT rental and the leather seats blew me away. Super comfortable and supportive. The interior was just very nice in general. Engine had peppy midrange, too.
  17. I'm pretty sure the whole Z06 front clip is unique, and I'm not sure if it would line up to the standard fenders either.
  18. Ccap, that Camaro SS is photoshopped. The red Camaro SS that was unveiled had the SS badge in the lower grill and had a standard gold bowtie.
  19. I've read it before, and now I've read it again. Still a solid in-depth review. It's refreshing to read reviews from a normal car enthusiast because often journalists get their head too far up their own ass with hyperbole to enjoy the car. I'm totally envious of your time in the Z/28.
  20. People probably don't know what the K900 is standing 10 feet away in a dealership showroom, and that's the most fundamental failure as a flagship. In America, Kia is still overcoming the bargain basement garbage reputation, and they want to sell a $60,000 RWD "value" luxury sedan? The whole concept from top to bottom is a swing and a miss. Now I've never been a fan of the Cadillac XTS, but the Vsport 3.6T/AWD starts at $63,000 and pretty much tops out just over $70k. It's faster, just as big and spacious, more fuel efficient, offers similar handling, and actually has a luxury badge on it. The Lexus LS also starts just north of $70k.
  21. I'm thinkin' a Camaro RS 3.6L myself. 6-speed manual to get the proper sport-coupe feel, and the performance package assuming there is one. 335 horsepower and (presumably) 30+ mpg highway is still a mind boggling concept to me. What's the downside? Even on the Mustang front, you have the 2.3EB with an available Ford performance tune for 2016. Sure, it sounds like a blender, but the updated chassis handles really well and some added power would go a long way. How funny is it that the slowest choice in the group is the Challenger with 305 horsepower and an 8-speed auto capable of running high 14s? The thread wasn't meant to dump on any of the cars, but point out how awesome this class has become. I don't think anything beats the updated Challenger for comfort and racking up highway miles if that's your thing.
  22. The premise is simple: you have $35,000 to spend on a muscle car/pony car of your choice. Which engine, trans, and trim package would get your money? Fully loaded Camaro RS (2.0T or V6), Mustang (3.7L or 2.3EB), Challenger 3.6L? Maybe you like all performance and no frills with a base SS, GT, R/T?
  23. I would rather see Buick put out a Verano GS and give Chevy a Sonic SS for brand differentiation. The price of a Chevy Cruze SS would easily climb into Camaro territory. With the Sonic, you're getting the lowest curb weight and best pricing scenario.
  24. You excited?? It's been a while now.
  25. I'm definitely getting sticker shock from that, but then again Buick sells the Encore in that range with the 1.4T. Cars in general are so damn expensive now. I can't imagine spending close to $25k for a compact that isn't performance oriented. That's only a few grand shy of what my Malibu stickered for and I've got a LOT more car for the money. With that said, I do like the Renegade's funky styling and interior.
