  1. Are any of those companies other than Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes making any money? They can't sustain what they're doing if they don't change because of CAFE. Ford GT? Not trying? It'll run circles around anything on any Mercedes lot.
  2. Except the KERS system in the LaFerrari. And rules and regulations constantly changed in F1 that it is not the same engine. And if so, it'll be a 6cyl hyper car? Sounds badass.. I can't wait to pilot a car that needs 15,000rpm to move. Just kidding, I'd still prefer a GM 6.2 that has this thing called TORQUE.
  3. Best. Argument. Ever. "Wait till XXX comes out. It'll be the bestest."
  4. Give us some scientific evidence that makes them "better" because that's a realative term. Blah blah blah. All I read was "they don't have $h! yet to compete in the performance game with GM's V Series". I couldn't find a comparison when they were all driven on the same day. But you know damn well the CTS-V will destroy the E63 in everything but 0-60 because AWD.
  5. But but but.. Cadillac doesn't have a V12!
  6. What's funny is his beloved Mercedes barely even competes in the performance spectrum against GM's V Series or Z06. ATS-V beats the C63 S and M3 in the 1/4 mile and to 150mph ATS-V: 19.8sec to 150mph C63 S: 23.7sec to 150mph M3: 23.3sec to 150mph Comparo Need another comparo? 'Nother Comparo Still quickest, brakes the best, and "dusted" the M3 and C63 in their skidpad as well.
  7. Because that's completely unnecessary ..and CAFE.. Unlike those Euro companies GM sells Vettes in very good numbers. Especially when all of the recently tested AMG 65's are slower than the AMG 63's because too much power. Worthless without traction.
  8. 100lbs is negligible at highway cruising but I would agree with increased drag.
  9. Interesting.. 4mpg highway is a big difference. I'd also assume the ATS-V is geared differently, more aggressively.
  10. What're the mileage rating differences?
  11. I can understand this point. Yeah... I'm just not a huge fan of V6's in general. I'd rather the 4cyl turbo in most applications.
  12. I know I'm comparing 2 generations but fairly comparable.. 3.0V6 in the last gen Escape and the 2.0T in the current Escape. Both 240hp. V6 Tq: 223lb-ft 1500lbs towing 19/25 mpg(FWD) 2.0T Tq: 270 lb-ft 3500lbs towing 22/30mpg(FWD) The Explorer is the only one of those I would take the N/A V6 over the turbo mill. N/A V6's...blow. Maybe the Taurus as well.. but I just hate the Taurus so much I would never even consider this old as F one that is out now. My argument would be there CAN be replacement for displacement and it varies a lot on the application and intent.
  13. I've only seen one Envision and it was driving. My local GM dealer has plenty of the Cascada and LaX though. The LaX is a very attractive looking vehicle.
  14. There is more torque by a mile though. And in the usable rpm range as well.
  15. Random observation... This was your 30,000th post. CONGRATS..?!? lol
  16. I haven't seen it in person but it looks badass in pictures.
  17. Hahaha so I've heard.. one friend of mine won't own anything NOT VW and my other friend has a mk6 GTI and has said it's the best vehicle he's owned and loves everything VW now because of it.
  18. based off the noises my ..former.. 2.0t made at partial throttle there was definitely boost being made between 1800-2500rpm where I accelerated mostly. Obviously it was not max boost but I could hear it spooling through my intake.
  19. Shet. That would be pretty perfect(save for the fog lights because I love those but I could manage without). It's likely more than I could spend at 29-30k though. What dealership are you working at now? I'm off work today and tomorrow and may make a trip that way tomorrow.
  20. I absolutely want the lighting package. What's included in the performance package? Aaaaaand, most importantly, what do these cost..?
  21. Yeah I have noooo clue what I want to get to replace the ole girl. My short list has consisted of: ATS 2.0T, MKC(they're a little more pricey still), GTI mk7, Focus ST, ILX, CX5 and Mazda 3 possibly.. all depends what the insurance company will give me though. I owe 9300-9500 yet. If you feel the want to sell your GTI..let me know.. lol
  22. The Titanium package spoiled me too much to get another Escape with less features..
  23. Jeeeeeez! Exactly why I'm so impressed with how far safety has come.
  24. Mmmm DOHC GM V8. Intriguing!
