I know this is a Model 3 thread but while reading on the Model X this little paragraph stood out to me, "We’ll stop right there for a second. Zero to 60 in 3.2 seconds makes this not only the fastest SUV we’ve ever tested but also puts the Model X in some pretty serious company. It’s 0.2 second quicker than a Ferrari Enzo to 60 mph. Any questions?" http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-tesla-model-x-p90d-ludicrous-first-test-review/

What Would Buy Instead- Jaguar XF 35t R-Sport Edition
ccap41 replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Well, once I looked around it wasn't too tough at all to make a switch. First I saw the A7 was well within the price range and with every option I wanted it was just a tick under 83k(I would have had to change something but not a big deal). Then I thought..hey if the A7 is within price I bet the CLS is also..I wonder which car makes more power for under 83k??? CLS. V8. 333hp V6 vs 402hp V8 So I built one and it's less than $100 over the $82,265. Mine was $82,360. I'll walk past the car and scratch the paint somewhere to work out a $100 savings. lol CLS550 Blue paint, dark brown interior Entertainment & Convenience$4,200 Key Standard Features 14-way power front seats with memory Heated front seats harman/kardon LOGIC7® sound system with Dolby® Digital 5.1 Central controller and 8-inch freestanding display COMAND navigation No-charge navigation map updates for 3 years Bluetooth audio streaming SiriusXM Radio with 6-month All Access trial SiriusXM Traffic and Weather with 5 years of service Hands-free Bluetooth interface Multicolor ambient lighting Options Premium Package MULTIBEAM active full-LED headlamps Adaptive Highbeam Assist Ventilated front seats Rearview camera KEYLESS-GO Electronic trunk closer Power-folding side mirrors Power rear-window sunshade $4,200 Performance & Safety$2,800 Key Standard Features 4.7L biturbo V-8 engine ECO Start/Stop system 9-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles AIRMATIC® adaptive air suspension COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS ATTENTION ASSIST PRE-SAFE® Options Driver Assistance Package DISTRONIC PLUS® with Steering Assist BAS® PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist PRE-SAFE® Brake with Pedestrian Recognition PRE-SAFE PLUS Active Blind Spot Assist Active Lane Keeping Assist This color and these wheels. I have a friend of mine who graduated a few years ago with an engineering degree and has been rocking an older WRX and is deciding between a Model 3 or a Focus RS as his next car. He's about to be one of those 276,000 as of the other day. Not sure where he stands right now but I know I'd love to be the one making that decision. Model 3/RS..hmmm...

lol there aren't too many modern 7.0+ engines.. CAFE.. I really like the 7.3 Ford Diesel idea. Nice choice!

It is a very good looking car as-in.. I'll have to search around some but the Jag looks like a good choice this time. Most of these it's easy to go away from the "starter" vehicle. This one.. not as easy. -
Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Plans On Adding Ten AMG Models This Year
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Mercedes-Benz
Cadillac has 3 VSports and 2 Vs (IIRC). Mercedes is going to have FORTY-EIGHT AMGs. Do you REALLY not see any difference? Well MB also has like ten thousand more vehicles than Cadillac so the % is probably about the same lol. Actually, it probably is if you "level off" by using the sprinters and work vehicles under the Mercedes name.- 49 replies

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Plans On Adding Ten AMG Models This Year
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Mercedes-Benz
I'm not a fan of it. AMG models used to be known for their and built engines and signed by said builder and their bonkers amount of torque sent rearward..now AMG means waaaay less in my eyes. With this move they aren't that same brand they used to be. No more bonkers amount of power, no hand built engines, just three useless letters on cars not deserving of them. Yes it's a good financial and Mercedes brand move(not a good AMG brand move) but I don't think it is the greatest long-term decision as I think it will devalue the "real" AMGs from here on out. It might only be a small percentage but I think from here on out unless it is a AMG GT or S63/5 I think it'll bring down the overall value to the E63, C63, CLA45...and so on.- 49 replies

No matter what people will take offense to a downvote.. There is the 1% like you Olds who will want to discuss and converse about the topic but the other 99% will see a -1 and bitch and moan regardless. If it bothers those people.. so be it.. I've already said why I downvote 99% of the time. Douche posts. Almost any time I disagree with somebody I just make a post to them and converse. I somebody makes some stupid flamboyant fanboy post like..I'll leave their name(s) out .. Then I give them the -1 and it ruffles their feathers lol. I don't know why..but it does. My -1 is saying "you're a douche" more often than not.

I think people in general need to get over the fact that these cars(any economy/electric) are going to all the aero points they can get so they will all become more and more similar and more and more bland as time goes to perfecting the least amount of drag all while pushing a 5 person sedan through the air. That is the whole "jelly bean" thing going on with all of the SUVs as well. There just won't be much for uniqueness on the economy car, electric, small CUV, heck most CUVs... That's one reason all of the mid size sedans are moving to the "coupe" body style because the long, raked rear window is more aero eficient than a rear window that is more vertical and a flat trunk. FYI, the Model S has a 0.24 drag coefficient. Tied with the Current C and S class, which are about 10 years newer. The Prius is 0.25 for comparison's sake.

My wife washed both of ours cars a couple of days ago. A fast wash. Mild weather....take the salt off type of wash. To my dismay, both cars now have small dents...you know...parking lot dings. This past winter, my cars did not survive being ding free... Luckily, none of the dents are visible. You have to know where to look to see them. I was thinking and was going to say good think your don't have dark colored cars then I realized.. I have no clue what color your Fusion of Acura are..lol. What colors are you and the wifey Rollin around in?? (No clue why "rollin" got capitalized but I'm "Rollin with it" ha. )

It's interesting how that nose is shaped, to also direct air under the car. You don't see that..pretty much ever. I'm curious why or what they found that that helps.

This is how I feel as well. *thumbs up*(I can't use the little picture guy from my phone)
