  1. I think VW would be helping themselves and creating thousands of Ambassadors by doing a proper high Blue Book buyback program that would get the illegal auto's off the road and get these customers into a new ride that would make everyone happy. What do they do to replace cars that were getting 40-50mpg though? I mean I know if I did the commute my buddy does I would be a little upset knowing my, even though it would be brand we, new Jetta can't touch the mpg my TDI could. Would they give them X dollars to spend elsewhere? I know that sounds ridiculous but at the same time they did kind of con the consumer into buying them anyway. I have yet to see any VW TDI actually get 40-50 mpg compared to the Hybrids like the VOLT or Prius. I know the diesel can hit the 30-s to low 40's but that has been it. If the EPA says to buy them back, I assume you will get a payout or can deal with suing VW. It really is all up in the air right now and it will be interesting to see comes out of the negotiations on dealing wth this. http://www.fuelly.com/car/volkswagen/jetta?engineconfig_id=103&bodytype_id=&submodel_id= Sift through it.. there are a lot in the 40's. Which, I didn't say 40's and 50's I said 40-50mpg. I guarantee if my buddy set the cruise on his Jetta going 55mph the instant readout would be in the low 50's on flat ground. I understand you're not going to average that but replacing a car like that won't be a gas-only car. Do these drivers want a hybrid? Do they want 40+mpg? My buddy says if he doesn't drive stupid fast like he usually does you can cruise and easily get 40+ mpg average. He will drive 80mph+ and still averages right around 40mpg, give or take.

  3. I know my buddy would LOVE the opportunity to get another new VW(assuming they would give the owners a good value on their current TDIs).
  4. I'm surprised you didn't find anything you didn't like about it..
  5. Pssst!! Cadillac is NOT, repeat: NOT racing mercedes to sell millions upon millions of vehicles in every price class. How about just 1 car over $100,000?CTS-V..? Escalade..? You can be so douchy when it comes to Mercedes.
  6. It's very much different when it's c sedan, c coupe, glc, glc coupe, e, e coupe, gle, gle coupe compared to the ATS sedan, coupe, cts sedan and coupe and camaro. It could be said that more vehicles off of one platform is better but when it's such low numbers is it really that great when the massive number we are seeing now decline? The hideous glc coupe and gle coupe won't sell forever. They aren't practical so when the economy turns down, like it inevitably will, they will be the first to stop buying. Many many man hours go into making a new body like the hideous gle and glc and making them compliant to safety regulations so it isn't like they can just use a computer and make a new vehicle off an existing platform and it's good to go. They have to retool plants and reengineer the entire body. As much as I like Mercedes I hope these ugly SUV coupes kick them in the ass because they're stupid and make as much sense as a coupe yet they look like dog$h!.
  7. Eventually it will bite them in the ass. The strong sales we are seeing cannot be sustained if vehicles are as good and high quality as they say they are. Once sales droop they have all of these variants cost sitting out there. I think they've gone to the opposite end Cadillac is currently at where they have too large of a portfolio. I mean it is great to offer a vehicle for everybody but when people stop buying, because recessions are an inevitable thing, I think it will hurt them even more. Just my opinion on the matter though.
  8. Just fixed it. Thanks for the heads up. No probby I do think the car is pretty sharp looking from the front. I dig the sunken in grille, looks Maserati-esqu in a good way.
  9. ..the name is wrong in the thread title.. Cadena.
  10. I added the optional black wheels w/o the Cup tires(1400 without 2000 with the Cup tires), gorgeous blue paint, RS2 package that added leather, heated seats, mirrors, steering wheel, power seat, Sync 3 with nav and $h!. and it ended up at $41,650. The only thing I didn't get was the optional tires and had I, I would have wanted the winter wheel and tire package as well. The wheels that are on dfelt's ^ but Blue paint! Oh yeah, not the blue I pictured either.. the bright but glossy blue that is similar to the show color. ..gotta be precise.. lol Also, I went with the purest of similarities to the Evo as I guess the pony/muscle car thing was an option.. but I guess if this was my only car I would still rather have an RS over a Camaro SS or Mustang GT..because RWD.. Yeah Yeah Yeah snow tires.. the same can be done on the RS! But I could get away with an all season tire with our mild winters.
  11. Dude U are claiming victory and superior intellect over me saying that the CT6 may be able to get better than GM claimed 37 miles "even in cold." Then U go so far as to get specific as to how cold it has to be. Its irrelevant til U see what they vehicle actually gets. And what's it matter anyway to U? U aren't buying one or anything in its price range so move the hell on. But every electric vehicle ever had gotten a decent amount less miles "per tank" than in the summer or warmer months. https://transportevolved.com/2013/12/17/whats-the-real-impact-of-cold-weather-on-ev-range-this-chart-shows-you/ It's genuinely a pretty interesting read.
  12. ^ I like the Scirocco choice!

  14. Bought a new toy.
  15. I'm just in love with that color.
  16. You mean El Kabong began getting louder? Not everybody hates Lincoln quite like you do. You're not the only one saying it, by any means. This is just a huge déjà vu for Lincoln at the New York show. Last year they debuted the Continental concept. It had whiz-bang autoshow stuff, they were initially coy about the underpinnings, it had derivitive styling, and as it made its way to production El Kabong began getting louder. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The Land Rover Navigator that may or may not be aluminum is slated to be built in Crazytown. Fixed.
  17. Oh this one is easy.. I didn't even have to visit websites or anything. Focus RS. ..it isn't in production but it will within this year.. ..did I F up..? lol
  18. I'll take 5 Terminators. Please, and thank you. Edit: Just be sure to fit snow tires on one of them
  19. Well I THINK I have my list.. Not 100% as I could see switching a few. Like my 911 Targo 4S.. I could see switching to something a little more toy-like like a 911 GT3 or RS or a Turbo S.. Tacoma TRD could switch to an F150 FX4 or Limited.. but My Daily would likely be the Rover Sport so why would I need a second large luxury vehicle? I would't..and the TRD or FX4 would be a ton of fun all off-road-like. The first two were easy for me. Ford GT Ferrari 488 RR Sport - I'd want the Euro diesel version because it is 306hp/516tq vs the US diesel 254hp/443tq or the supercharged gaser at 340hp/332tq. Tacoma TRD 911 Targo - because Targas are cool and I've always thought they looked like a fun car to drive. Add some wind in the hair without ruining the looks of a car by making it a full on convertible..yup. $h! I just thought about the 2017 Raptor! F me.
  20. I think it looks pretty dang sharp. A much-needed re-do in my opinion. I'm loving the all black windows -> back window with no body color in the middle. That cleans up the profile immensely. Looks great.
  21. I say that because the gf doesn't like cars and would pretty much only drive a CUV/SUV. I too am in love with the F-Type Coupe. GORGEOUS car.
  22. Ugliest line of vehicles ever. GLC Coupe, GLE Coupe, X4 Coupe, X6 Coupe. It actually kind of make me mad that they make such hideous vehicles when both manufacturers make gnarly M and AMG cars.
  23. You can swear all you like. ask and you shall receive. Skip to mark 2:45. Yup. And that's not even cold weather. 30 degrees. Yeah. Thanks for doing the work. U are good for something I see. The bottom line is that the CT6 is not using the same battery so U don't kno jack $h! until they actually do the test. Lastly.. I don't kno where U come from.. and seriously don't care.. so don't tell.. , but 30 degrees is cold in my neck of the woods. No no no. Excuse me, to quote you would be to stoop to your level. Mr. Dowdell, who happens to be rocket scientist answered your remark for you even before you mentioned range. Find it in this thread, And I don't care what you think - but crying that 30 degrees is cold is nonsensical. More like -30 Farenheit. That's cold. And you're going to get maybe 25 miles of range. Heck in a Tesla you'd be lucky to get 125 miles. It's batteries - it's how they work. Sheesh. It's true... batteries just don't function the same in the cold. That's yet another thing that hold me up from seriously considering an EV yet. If my range is nearly cut in half of 200 miles.. ouch. And we'd be talking at least 1/4 of the year maybe more. Nov-Mar most likely. Not solidly through those months as there'd be warm days but in general.
