  1. Yes- can't stomach the mercedes-esque plastic cladding.BTW; subaru's commercials got me puzzled. Right now, their campaign is aiming at… dogs. I actually thought that commercial was cute. They were getting at, I think, how good of a ride it has that it'll put your kids to sleep who are normally all wound up and tough to get to sleep.
  2. I would agree with that for the most part. The only reason I don't is the size of the GT. When I think Lotus I think of smaller cars and everything you said as well but small is actually one of the first things I think of when I hear Lotus, because I instantly picture the Elise. This is a good idea of the size of the car. I hope it is the Miata/S2000 of super cars. That would be great praise.
  3. Those are some gnarly pictures! *Like*
  4. I haven't seen one in person yet but I kind of agree.. It is super ugly and quirky but because there's nothing else like it.. it's kind of neat..
  5. Some awesome pictures from the 24hrs. http://www.roadandtrack.com/motorsports/g6594/rolex-24-gallery/?thumbnails
  6. It's been brought up but I don't recall a response or I just missed it but the previous generation Escape? 2.5 or 3.0(or hybrid). I just checked the ole AutoTrader and there are a handful of 70-85k miles and $10-12k range. There are a few straggler diamonds that are sub 60-50k miles and still under 12k. There is one that is 9998 and only 57k miles. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?endYear=2017&zip=62249&engineCode=4CLDR&maxPrice=12000&showcaseListingId=419839025&mmt=%5BFORD%5BESCAPE%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&modelCode1=ESCAPE&sortBy=mileageASC&startYear=1981&makeCode1=FORD&showcaseOwnerId=3251723&engineCodes=4CLDR&firstRecord=0&searchRadius=200&listingId=421553730&Log=0
  7. 3.1... Sound almost exactly like my first car, Beretta Z26.
  8. What was it doing that it felt bad? Mainly, it didn't feel planted. Especially over bumps mid-corner. Plus the steering wheel was off-center. Now that it's done, the car feels totally transformed. It feels like how everyone describes a Miata. It feels so sure-footed and just more eager. $130 well spent. Here's the before and after. Like I said, the alignment before was just terrible. Holy $h!. How did it get so far out of spec?? Or did the factory just leave everything "yellow" because it was technically in spec but just bearly and the things red might have just nearly slipped out of spec?
  9. Sometimes it's enjoyable to read a comparison on cars that aren't direct competitors but could possible be cross shopped because they're "similar" yet. I actually think a Hellcat could have been a fun 3rd car in the mix. Dodge's take on a 60-70k performance toy. Yeah it would have lacked the track prowess but this wasn't just a track comparo.
  10. The "fun to drive" was kind of all the article was really about. The performance number are definitely in the corvette's hands and they knew it going into it, everybody knows.
  11. My friend with a 13 Jetta TDI(6 spd!) got a $500 Visa Prepaid card and $500 towards anything from Volkswagen(gift card as well).
  12. I completely agree. Cars these days are just getting close and closer to each other performance-wise. That's one reason I love the GT350 and the outgoing Z28 is they're cars that are just meant to be driven. None of that infotainment system crap in a GT style car. Ford won't let you get that stuff if you get the track pack on the GT350! A car with soul is a car that can be driven without a stereo even being installed. Just driver and car.
  13. Had to get some attention grabbing title in there . "Chairman Mao Zedong, a fan of the red but not so much of the white or the blue, once said, “I got more hoes than the ozone.” Oh wait, it might have been Abraham Lincoln who said that. The quote we were Google-searching for from Chairman Mao was something about asymmetric warfare, about how a fighter must move amongst the people as a fish swims in the sea, which is way more poetic and stuff. And what we have here is a classic asymmetric fight; a battle in which one side is conventionally powerful and established and the other is a fish. All of this brings us inextricably to the showdown that neither Chevrolet nor Ford probably had in mind: the one between the Corvette and the new Shelby GT350. We set out to find the best American sports car that a successful, but not necessarily rich, person could attain. We would want road-course competence from our winner, but not at the expense of real-world drivability, since it is sadly the real world in which we spend most of our time. Our winner should look fast, sound fast, and be fast. But most important, it should be thrilling to drive." http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/2016-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-z51-vs-2016-ford-mustang-shelby-gt350-comparison-test Fun read. You can't take it too serious, as the title states and they elude to right away they aren't really competitors to each other which makes it for an enjoyable read. Don't take it too serious fanboys Enjoy.
  14. If they can't keep up with demand as it is there's no point in increasing the demand quite yet. But I agree, I don't think I've ever seen one.
  15. But the consumer will still have a want for their cars whether the D3 likes it or not.
  16. I wish Tesla would have had the balls to just say F Michigan and work on other things. Wait until the customer got fed up with the states bull$h! regulations and made a change that way. Just completely leave the state of Michigan alone.
  17. Are car lots closed on Sunday in NJ? That's one thing I miss about places I lived in the past..was fun to go 'tire kicking' on Sundays and stroll around looking at cars without being hassled by sales resource units. Everything is open on Sundays here. Here in IL and MO the dealers are closed but you can still look around without being hassled. I've done it myself before...and if I find something I have questions about ill get ahold of somebody when they are open.
  18. They're still using the 2.5 from those generations. I'd very much trust the 2.5 still. It might not be the most efficient or powerful motor out there but it's been a workhorse for Ford.
  19. I think it was actually right before you were a mod but I'm not 100% sure.
  20. Yeah there "had" to be a rule placed on it after a small handful abused and complained about it.
  21. What does it mean when somebody's name has "quitters" next to it? Did they close their account? Kicked out? Haven't posted anything in X days/months?
  22. They get people to talk about them and write articles about them. The general public likes things like that and Musk knows it. It's a gimmick that no other vehicle has. I don't think the 'general public' will be buying very many $100k novelty CUVs. But the general public is who talks about its quirky gimmicks. The more people talk about it in a positive manner the more it will get people to want their lesser models when they eventually come to fruition. I completely agree that the general public isn't buying anything other than a house at or above even 80k(starting price if I remember correctly?). But it does help "some" with the fuel costs and EV tax breaks. Not trying to say that all of a sudden people that make 50-70k will be forking out 100k on a car or anything but every little helps..

  24. I am not disappointed in anything other than the sight lines from the driver's seat. I was never a huge fan of the 5th gen Camaro's looks but I definitely could see how people would like it. It just wasn't my cup of tea, and that's fine. As for sales, you and I both know sales doesn't mean one is better than the other. That's been gone over and over and over here already. Just because one sells more(or less) doesn't necessarily make it the better(or worse) car. The three pony cars are so good these days that whoever buys based on looks alone won't be getting a bad car. Oh the pricey ones will sell, no doubt about that. And that white one you took a picture of with the aftermarket wheels..looked awesome..real awesome. I was in our Chevy dealer last week and I asked them when they would get in a '16 Camaro and they told me, "another 2-3 weeks, I think". Seemed like an awful long time yet but we're a small town so we don't usually get the newest stuff first. HOPEFULLY I can take one for a short spin and it'll change my mind about the visibility though.
  25. My point was your GM fanboy-ism saying "trust me" weighs little when you're trying to hype up a GM vehicle. Put the two next to each other and I doubt 2 non-car-people would be able to differentiate the two or pick which is the new one and which is the old one without looking at the interior. I don't. But hey, it's all good. It either succeeds or it doesn't. But if we are to judge its chances of success or failure based on its styling, it's going to be just fine. Then it'll do the same as the 5th gen! lol I'm just messin' 'round. I'm not doubting the success or failure one bit. It'll be a success, no doubt.
