  1. I'd want to eliminate the gonzo roof as well. Personally, I think sunroofs and panorama roofs like in m Escape are such a waste of money. Literally, the only time I use it is to show it off to people..that's the only cool thing about it. Other than that they cost more, less head room(not a personal issue as I'm on the shorter side - 5'8" ) and down the road seals will eventually leak. There just seem like way more downsides to them than upsides. I can only think of the ground effects kit that I added other than what C&D did. I guess I have decent taste..lol
  2. Hahaha Just saying.. Make something unique that will just eat everything from Eurpoe for the next decade+. Like a mix of a Veyron/LaFerrari/P1/918 but with the resources from two major companies who already have some fun stuff. I mean Chevy has one BADASS Z06 and Ford is coming out with their GT. Could you imagine if they put those two technologies together..First off, we'd be talking about a twin turbo Ecoboost pushrod lol I'm talkin' continental rivalry here not just within our borders.
  3. Pretty neat little read. I enjoyed it. Could you imagine what kind of performance car GM and Ford could make if they worked together on something?
  4. Holy $h!..lol I never looked into it because I never remembered about it because I very rarely ever drove it. Dang, Thanks!
  5. Wow, I feel really stupid because I knew that but forgot. I even stopped and glanced around just a second(and apparently very poorly) looking for sowmthing like that but I just completely forgot. So I said screw it, I'll just post'm here.About the pics themselves, The ONLY thing that didn't look right on the new Silverado was how the colored strip through the grill met the colored strip through the headlights. They don't match up. Other than that I REALLY like the refresh, a lot.
  6. Looks pretty awesome. The front looks leaner and sleeker and the back looks a little more muscular with the wheel "hunches". I really like what the did with the front end. Nothing major but it was nipped and tucked very very well. I also think the horizontal bar in the grill looks good.
  7. Yeah, the Z71 Trail Boss Colorado that MT tested for TOTY stickered at a whopping $47,425. I wouldn't think a 4WD Canyon Denali would be any cheaper..
  8. Saw a couple of neat vehicles yesterday. 500 Abarth and a new Silverado Z71. My apologies for the junk quality.. it was raining..
  9. Pretty good lookin' car, for its class. But 130hp/128tq.. my god. I know it's #1 priority is fuel economy but how do you pass anybody on a 2 lane rode or even merge onto the interstate where cars are traveling 70-80mph??? 2016 Nissan Sentra: Only drive as quick as the person in front of you.
  10. I completely forgot to add that it leaks water inside.. we don't know where from though. My dad was driving it once while it was raining but couldn't find a drip or line of water or anthing but it will puddle up on the passenger side only. I actually drove it last year to class a couple of days and ended up having to buy my book because I got in when it was below freezing so the water was frozen(and I forgot about it because it isn't like it is super deep or anything) and put my backpack behind the passenger seat and when I went to return my school books(my school is rental and it's thrown in to the tuition) the bottom of the book had water damage and I had to buy the damn thing. I always forget about that part of it... With water comes mold evenutally..
  11. Ok then you could have a possible oil pump dying, not uncommon in the Berretta, more time than work to replace it. Also I would think your starter is shorting out and dying as they will drain the battery when they start to go. Since this is not multiple little electrical things in the car, then these are pretty easy to fix, even a complete exhaust with cat is not that much. If you do not have the time, you could still have them all done at a reliable 3rd party shop much cheaper than spending 7K on a new used auto with it's own issues. Yeah I see what you mean. I think a big part of it is my dad just not really wanting to screw around with it anymore. Starter shorting out sounds exactly like what is happening, which could be an easy fix, really. All depends what it looks like. Well, the Ion that I found the other day has 74k miles, auto, power windows/locks(basic stuff, nothing fancy) and my dad offered them 5500. I'm not really sure why my dad seems to be in a rush, but he does. This is the car I'm talking about. http://www.steveschmittauto.com/VehicleDetails/used-2007-Saturn-Ion-4dr_Sdn_Auto_ION_2-Highland-IL/2626861173
  12. That third car actually would be PERFECT, sub 7k and only 49k miles. Honestly.. I'd drive one of those just to reap the benefits of fuel economy and probably dirt cheap insurance as well.
  13. Well.. I like it..kind of. I, too, am confused why they are all over the map with their design language. I don't mind evolving from generation to generation but to completely drop one and change makes it dificult for people to recognize your brand and to really build some cache with it. Does this mean the MKC/X/Nav will all be adapting this grill as well? Is this the same Taurus-based car from like..2008? Casa, I noticed those IDENTICAL Audi headlights as well. I like them, but definitely they still look like an Audi rip-off.
  14. E-Class starts at 52k and can be built up over 80k before the AMG. *whisper* that also doesn't get you a V8 at 80k. Weird..they both offer 3.0TT. I, too, assume most sales will be the middle egine, like almost every vehicle ever sold.
  15. Oh jeez... There will always be that guy though.. unrealistic expectations per modification. He thinks you can cut down his ET 4+ tenths with drag radials. Unless he's boosted it from the aftermarket There will be gains but I don't think the car is powerful enough to benefit from them.
  16. I think there are "only" about 130k. The trans did just get rebuilt at the beginning of the summer. I'm not 100% but when going to start it it will almost feel as if it drains the whole battery, then you turn the key off let it sit for a second and try and start it again and it will turn over, sometimes. Minor thing that needs replacing is the muffler. I got under it a week or so ago while charging the battery and it rusted off right at the front side of the muffler. That's a cheap no worry fix but just "another thing". That leads to believe that the cat(s) and the rest of the piping could be on its way out as well. Under the hood really isn't too bad or messy or anything. When j was 16 I bought a ram air intake for it and this last summer my dad ad I took it off and put the factory air box back in. Also, the oil pressure gauge is almost constantly bouncing around. Put it in gear and it will drop, accelerate it will come back up, and it just moves around a lot more often that it probably should.
  17. As long as he doesn't mind replacing his half shafts..lol
  18. I think we are running into electrical issues now though..which are just a PIA. I do see what you're talking about though. I think some of it is that when my brother is away(and he isn't a hands on car-like guy like my father and I) is if something happens when he's away at school. At least, I think that is part of the problem.
  19. You know it took me a good 10 minutes to read, re-read, look at pictures, and re-read, and again look at pictures to figure out what you were talking about(funny thing is I just read it wrong all of those times). Yes that is where the CD player is, above the MFT/Nav screen. when you said pimple I thought you were asking about the volume knob BELOW the MFT/Nav which is what confused the heck out of me.
  20. There are a few numbers I was really surprised in with the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss. 4922lbs and $47,421. You can get a 1500 of your choice or F150 very very well optioned at that price. Everthing else seems quite fantastic.
  21. I guess it just never really clicked in my head until I read that little bit. Sometimes you read and article and just hear the exaggerating that it going on non-stop and think nothing of it..they all do it with every car they like even the sligtest. And, of course, vise versa. Good, short, fun article to read.
  22. Is the New Camaro More Entertaining to Drive Than a 3 Series? "Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d write: The Chevrolet Camaro is a better, more entertaining car to drive than a BMW 3 Series. In more than 30 years of testing cars I have experienced several moments of dazzling, crystalline revelation: that the original Mazda Miata was the most sublimely, delicately, intuitively tactile sports car ever built; that underneath the seductive scarlet curves of a Ferrari 348 lurked a sulky, evil-tempered bunny-boiler; and that the Ford Raptor was one of the most original performance vehicle concepts from a mainstream automaker, an entertaining and engaging ride that was also uniquely and uncompromisingly American. This one, though, was totally unexpected. That’s partly because I’d have never thought of driving Chevy’s ponycar and BMW’s iconic sport sedan back-to-back, over the same roads. It is, after all, not an obvious comparison test; no one will ever cross-shop these cars. However, the 2016 Camaro SS and BMW 340i were both contenders in this year’s Car of the Year competition, and I just happened to drive one immediately after the other during our testing. Then I went and drove them each again, just to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. I wasn’t. In terms of pure driver appeal, the 455-hp, naturally aspirated, 6.2-liter, V-8-powered, six-speed-manual Camaro simply outclassed the 320-hp, turbocharged, 3.0-liter, I-6-powered, six-speed-manual BMW. The Chevy had more tactile and communicative steering, crisper throttle response, better brake feel, superior high-speed body control, and sweeter chassis balance. It danced around the handling track, feeling remarkably light on its feet. Turn-in response was quick and authoritative, and with all the electronic nannies off, it could drift through corners with Ken Block confidence levels. I got out of the Camaro grinning. When I exited the BMW? Not so much." Read the rest: http://www.motortrend.com/news/revelation-chevy-thats-better-bmw/
  23. ^ agreed. I hate how the top trim models of trucks are dipped in chrome then a few pieces are taken off to be painted.
  24. Hey everybody, Well, my first car(1995 Chevy Beretta Z26!! - It was purple) that was handed down to my brother has been sitting a lot the last year and when running something new is wrong almost all of the time. Well, my brother has been in college and he will still be for the next couple of years but now he will be bringing his car with him as he has an apartment and lives a little further from campus next year. Well, my dad is looking for a car for him in the 5-7k price range. Nothing fancy, special, literally just something cheap and reliable and hopefully less than 100k miles. That's the hard part,,miles and price..(as with any used car purchase). Now, I know he doesn't really want to spend 7k so absolutely nothing north of that. So far the best I've found locally is an '07 Saturn Ion(my sister used to have one actually) with 74k miles. I know I could look older and probably find something cheap with decent miles but age alone can damage cars so I was hopeing to find something in the mid 2000's. Opinions? What do you guys think? Any long term opinions and thoughts of cars personally owned? Anything to look for on said older cars? I guess I'm mostly hesitant on the 100k miles and above aspect. Mostly because I will never actually know how well it was or wasn't treated. I didn't know if I could/should look closer to 2000 and at Neons/Cavaliers/Focuses and stay closer to 5k price or if it is worth it to go a little newer for the next generation of basically all of those above cars. Japanese cars aren't out of the question fyi.
  25. Congrats to the COTY. It's definitely earned it. I CANNOT WAIT to finally see some of these in the flesh. It sucks, this time last year when the new Musangs came out it was cold and sucky weather too. Hopefully the day I spot one at our local Chevy dealer it will be sunny and no wind(I can deal with the cold as long as it isn' windy).
