  1. As long as he doesn't mind replacing his half shafts..lol
  2. I think we are running into electrical issues now though..which are just a PIA. I do see what you're talking about though. I think some of it is that when my brother is away(and he isn't a hands on car-like guy like my father and I) is if something happens when he's away at school. At least, I think that is part of the problem.
  3. You know it took me a good 10 minutes to read, re-read, look at pictures, and re-read, and again look at pictures to figure out what you were talking about(funny thing is I just read it wrong all of those times). Yes that is where the CD player is, above the MFT/Nav screen. when you said pimple I thought you were asking about the volume knob BELOW the MFT/Nav which is what confused the heck out of me.
  4. There are a few numbers I was really surprised in with the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss. 4922lbs and $47,421. You can get a 1500 of your choice or F150 very very well optioned at that price. Everthing else seems quite fantastic.
  5. I guess it just never really clicked in my head until I read that little bit. Sometimes you read and article and just hear the exaggerating that it going on non-stop and think nothing of it..they all do it with every car they like even the sligtest. And, of course, vise versa. Good, short, fun article to read.
  6. Is the New Camaro More Entertaining to Drive Than a 3 Series? "Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d write: The Chevrolet Camaro is a better, more entertaining car to drive than a BMW 3 Series. In more than 30 years of testing cars I have experienced several moments of dazzling, crystalline revelation: that the original Mazda Miata was the most sublimely, delicately, intuitively tactile sports car ever built; that underneath the seductive scarlet curves of a Ferrari 348 lurked a sulky, evil-tempered bunny-boiler; and that the Ford Raptor was one of the most original performance vehicle concepts from a mainstream automaker, an entertaining and engaging ride that was also uniquely and uncompromisingly American. This one, though, was totally unexpected. That’s partly because I’d have never thought of driving Chevy’s ponycar and BMW’s iconic sport sedan back-to-back, over the same roads. It is, after all, not an obvious comparison test; no one will ever cross-shop these cars. However, the 2016 Camaro SS and BMW 340i were both contenders in this year’s Car of the Year competition, and I just happened to drive one immediately after the other during our testing. Then I went and drove them each again, just to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. I wasn’t. In terms of pure driver appeal, the 455-hp, naturally aspirated, 6.2-liter, V-8-powered, six-speed-manual Camaro simply outclassed the 320-hp, turbocharged, 3.0-liter, I-6-powered, six-speed-manual BMW. The Chevy had more tactile and communicative steering, crisper throttle response, better brake feel, superior high-speed body control, and sweeter chassis balance. It danced around the handling track, feeling remarkably light on its feet. Turn-in response was quick and authoritative, and with all the electronic nannies off, it could drift through corners with Ken Block confidence levels. I got out of the Camaro grinning. When I exited the BMW? Not so much." Read the rest: http://www.motortrend.com/news/revelation-chevy-thats-better-bmw/
  7. ^ agreed. I hate how the top trim models of trucks are dipped in chrome then a few pieces are taken off to be painted.
  8. Hey everybody, Well, my first car(1995 Chevy Beretta Z26!! - It was purple) that was handed down to my brother has been sitting a lot the last year and when running something new is wrong almost all of the time. Well, my brother has been in college and he will still be for the next couple of years but now he will be bringing his car with him as he has an apartment and lives a little further from campus next year. Well, my dad is looking for a car for him in the 5-7k price range. Nothing fancy, special, literally just something cheap and reliable and hopefully less than 100k miles. That's the hard part,,miles and price..(as with any used car purchase). Now, I know he doesn't really want to spend 7k so absolutely nothing north of that. So far the best I've found locally is an '07 Saturn Ion(my sister used to have one actually) with 74k miles. I know I could look older and probably find something cheap with decent miles but age alone can damage cars so I was hopeing to find something in the mid 2000's. Opinions? What do you guys think? Any long term opinions and thoughts of cars personally owned? Anything to look for on said older cars? I guess I'm mostly hesitant on the 100k miles and above aspect. Mostly because I will never actually know how well it was or wasn't treated. I didn't know if I could/should look closer to 2000 and at Neons/Cavaliers/Focuses and stay closer to 5k price or if it is worth it to go a little newer for the next generation of basically all of those above cars. Japanese cars aren't out of the question fyi.
  9. Congrats to the COTY. It's definitely earned it. I CANNOT WAIT to finally see some of these in the flesh. It sucks, this time last year when the new Musangs came out it was cold and sucky weather too. Hopefully the day I spot one at our local Chevy dealer it will be sunny and no wind(I can deal with the cold as long as it isn' windy).
  10. Is it my ignorance or is this the first time of hearing the actual numbers on the 3.0TT? 400/400 is awesome! ESPECIALLY if they decide later on a V Series. Building one and came across a "dark emerald metallic". Holy hell that color is awesome. I still don't think I could get it on this car but it is still an AWESOME color. Whew, I tried to even be a litle generous but I built one the way I'd probably have it and it was 79k. That is the 3.0TT, Premium package, 20's(that come with active ride control and magnetic ride suspension), then Driver's assist package(really just want active cruise control..never driven a vehicle with it). Oh, I think I also added the 2100 ground effects kit as well that is probably easily taken off but it gives it a little more aggressive and lowered look.
  11. Nice car and congrats to your daughter! She has a good pappa bear because I know I never got anything that nice as a 16 year old.. but my dad doesn't also have a Stingray and CTS-V! I take it it has the 3.6? That is the LFX, correct? That should actually be a pretty "peppy" vehicle and PLENTY for any 16 year old. That's awesome she knew to stay in America!
  12. Well from MT's Real MPG testing it was right in the middle of the two Ram diesels mpg-wise. "Motor Trend was able to snag an example long enough to run the diesel Titan XD through its Real MPG test. The result was 15.8 city, 20.8 highway, 17.7 combined miles per gallon." "The puts the tweener Titan - said by Nissan to have a max payload of 2,000 pounds and a tow rating of "12,000-plus pounds" - betwixt the two diesels in the Ram truck line, the only other diesel trucks to far tested in the Real MPG program. The four-wheel-drive Ram 3.0-liter 1500 EcoDiesel Crew Cab scored 18.3 city, 27.2 highway, and 21.6 combined, the four-wheel-drive Ram 3500HD Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab with a 6.7-liter Cummins returned 14.1 city, 17.6 highway, and 15.5 combined mpg. We'll know more when we get into it next month, but the bell for round one is rung."
  13. Well, had it not underperformed I think it would have filled that gap very well actually. An adequately sized diesel v8 that isn't under powered or overpowered that SHOULD have returned good mileage would have been great.. it just underperformed on all of those fronts. I mean take the 7200lbs out of the equation and just think of a 5500lb Ram/Chevy/Ford with a 5.0 Cummins in it. That would be a fantastic truck. They just..screwed up somewhere..
  14. I don't think it's really a failure if it's actually capable in its lesser trims. Most people that are buying a truck to do work aren't buying them in mega cab, full leather, and full bed. It's made to carry an ass-ton of weight for it's class. While it doesn't tow much more than just an F150 the weight of itself should lend it to be a more secure haul. But, ya know what..as of yet it hasn't proven anything so I'm not as optimistic as I was a week ago.
  15. I'm just disappointed because I thought this was going to be a beast. Maybe in its lesser trims it still will be. But at 7200lbs that's quiet some heft to carry around.
  16. Looks familiar!! nice ride! You said it has the tow package, so does his not have the auto lift gate? I'm pretty sure in '13 you couldn't have both.
  17. I REALLY like the line in the Acura commercial, "When you don't think of them as dummies, something amazing happens"
  18. Damn. I still have high hopes for its performs when not fully loaded and full can and bed. I have to believe it can shave 1000lbs just configured differently. I definitely thought in any configuration it would wallop the 3.0 Ram. Though I don't think a single sole expected a weight north of 7000lbs. I'm curious if that configuration would still be good for towing 12,000lbs. They never touched on that.
  19. Is that like the cool down mile it takes to get their excuses in their head so when they stop next to the 'Maro they have all sorts of excuses on deck?? Lol Like..like..like.. The Camaro had an extra year of innovation! The Camaro has more gear ratios! The Camaro has less weight! Hahaha
  20. *random thought(in wrong thread, knowingly* I think it's funny that somebody else and myself can talk about Parks and Recs in a car thread and nobody bats an eye. Somebody mentions something that at least has to do with cars and gets told to get back on topic..lol at everybody. Just curious, what's a "Mustang Mile"?
  21. C'mon, man. You've got to be kidding, right? 10-15 years ago there wasn't a Camaro and a Mustang GT had 260hp/290tq and a solid rear axle. I don't know how one can honestly say either of these you're speaking of are bad cars and deserve talking down to. Interiors have improved ten fold, everyday drivability head and shoulders above the 10-15 year old cars, then the engines and transmissions are superior to even some super cars back then. 435-455hp is nuts for any car that is considered affordable to the masses.
  22. Only sad to those who care more about numbers than the cars themselves. You can't lose buying either. Both leaps and bounds greater than cars 10-15 years ago. It's great we're in a time when these two are battling again. THAT brings the best out of both of them.
  23. I didn't have a problem but that was not on a Mac OS. My phone has been fine(iPhone 6) too. Buuuut none of them are Mac laptops or desktops. It was incredibly windy here today. Last night through today was 20-40mph winds. STL.
