  1. ^ first, I wouldn't get the ceramic brakes.. Second.. The odds of it hitting a road course would be slim to none. Third, I guarantee all of these cars performance well out does my skill level so I couldn't extract the performance out of them anyway.. Plus the "slowest" in this group is one heck of a car!
  2. I dunno. Maybe put a little Post-it note on the sticker saying "the EPA and General Motors agree about what you should from this car at the pumps like Putin and Obama agree about the Ukraine." That should probably do the trick Hahaha Sounds good to me!
  3. I'm not sure how upfront you're talking about because every window sticker her the "results may vary"... I dig the idea of a plus sized BRZ or Genesis killer. More Genesis as they are more similar in size.
  4. I like it! But a turbo 4 making that much power is asking for EcoBoost numbers whether performance or fuel economy.. Regardless, I love the idea. Now that is one way to get people into the smaller more economical engine vehicles(it'll still get better mileage than a 6.2). What about even just 350hp..? I mean the car is going to weigh less than the current model so adding ~50hp and dropping 100lbs(low estimate) is a good swing in power to weight ratio. Then all of your 1LE suspension bits. Fun car.
  5. Personally, I don't think it is getting its head handed to it.. but it is losing the sales battle. I just don't think it is any kind of ass whoopin'. Until the year is over(or close to) I'm not really concerned with overall sales. Every manufacturer does things different times of the year. Whether it be sales or trying to get rid of previous year's vehicles..
  6. 42mpg combined is what the writeup says. At least I took that as City/Highway/Combined - and the 42 was the "combined". I know it's 42 combined. A lot of hybrids, especially dedicated ones like the Prius, are higher than that. Oh I gotcha I gotcha..

  8. 53 miles of electric range then 42mpg after.. As long as it's priced right that sounds like one winning hybrid.
  9. Wow, the Tacoma is still chugging along at a surprising rate. More than 17,000 Tacomas sold last month!
  10. If you're on a mobile device, you'll be screwed.
  11. 'Bong, If you didn't know yet, larger or bold font means it is the absolute 100% truth. 100% of the time.
  12. I always loved the ZL1. I feel like I never really heard much about it or saw them on the streets like I saw GT500s. I love how it was the big power, magneto shocks(whatever GM's patented name is) Camaro. It is pretty much the "gran tourer" of the segment. 580hp in the pervious gen. Lighter more power this time around(most likely). It'll be a beast, that's for sure. But I hope they don't try and do a hybrid of ZL1 and Z/28. I'd like to see the big power and comfy ride remain without it going too hardcore in the ride department.
  13. Damn that Caddy performs! 99ft from 60-0. 12.1 in the quarter.. Nearly mirroring the 458 Italia in the figure eight! For me personally.. If money wasn't a concern, and at these prices it probably isn't THAT much of an issue, it would still be tough to get me away from the C63. A lot of that is because of my driving style and V8. I'm not an agressive street driver. I'm not going to be taking on ramps at 150mph because the car can. I just want to stand on the "go" pedal whenever I want and hear the V8. And that is also because all of these cars are still wickedly fast. a measly [email protected].. I can handle that compared to the quickest at [email protected]. But it does seem to have a little EcoBoost issue with the soft top end..
  14. I originally just saw "Industry News: Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz Buy Nokia" and got really excited. I thought we were going to get some undestructable Audis, BMWs and Mercedes.
  15. ^ hahahahaha
  16. Yes, I completely see what you mean there. To the average person they do all look about the same.
  17. Good point.. Or it could be one that just sat forever..lol
  18. i still have a hard time viewing Buick as luxury.. I guess I still have the mindset from the early 2000s with the Regal and Century.. Those cars were so bland and average. I realize the new stuff is much much better but I haven't been in a modern Buick so I still view them as just a Chevy with a little more leather. I think the next generation the interior actually dropped in overall quality. The center stack looked EXTREMELY cheap and plasticy, let alone for a luxury brand. Yes, Cadillac has the potential to blow up.. As we have all said, they just need a bigger lineup and to actually get their name out there. I actually drove through a Cadillac dealer in my area this past weekend and I pointed to the ATS and CTS next to eachother and I asked my gf if she could could point out anything different about the two(without telling her they were different to begin with). She thought they were the same exact car. For some, that's bad. I personally do not mind because I think they both look really sharp.. Random mini story.. Eh, try the same test with BMW and Audi. I don't know about Audi because I think their older stuff was attrocious looking but earl-mid 2000's BMW and MB were very nice. In fact, my '06 C350 had one of the nicest interiors I've ever been in. Quality-wise. The only plastic was the actual buttons. Everything else was leather or aluminum. I actually think in 08 they took a decent step backwards in quality of interiors. The center stack on the '08+ was extremely cheap and plasticy. 2006 2008 DAMNIT, Now I'm talking MB in this GM thread!.
  19. The Cadillac brand sold 14,154 cars. Lincoln sold 9,536 at lower transaction prices and they continue getting mediocre to poor reviews. Let that sink in for a while. I'm not going to disagree(because there is nothing to disagree with lol) but, the Lincolns, because they are(sadly) fancy Fords, their cost is probably much lower than Cadillacs(which are more unique - at least the CTS and ATS as of now). Still with a ~5000 unit spread I doubt they are making up for profits with the lower costs to make but I bet it looks a lot better on paper than selling ~5000 fewer units. Oops! This is the GM thread.. I'm done talking Ferds here. Well see GM has the Buick brand more or less using the same strategy as Lincoln. Buick sold 20,791 vehicles last month. Sure we can split hairs and say new Lincolns are a step more luxurious than Buicks, but then Cadillacs are a step higher than Lincoln. At the end of the day, you have 35,000 luxury cars sold by GM. As smk4565 put fairly succinctly, Cadillac makes great cars that lack proper marketing. The product is there. I'd rather be in that position 100 times over. i still have a hard time viewing Buick as luxury.. I guess I still have the mindset from the early 2000s with the Regal and Century.. 20. The sold 1 CL..? When was the last time those were made?
  21. Which truck gets the half frame? ..I don't want that one.. I don't think anybody here is qualified enough to assume where any of these global companies are getting their profits for. Or enough information out there for us to read. I mean all the different cab, bed, driveline variations with just one F150(Silverado/Ram) is actually very mind blowing and obviously every little option and variation will cost a different amount.
  22. Lmao, are you flirting with me or having a stroke? It's ok though, GM equally screwed the pooch when they priced the ELR at $75,000 the first year. I mean it's still overpriced now, but it's much faster and $10k cheaper than it was. Hahahaha uhhh...both..?(shrugging shoulders) ;) lol
  23. lol true.. Buuuuut you wouldn't get free car washes! <- so that's supposed to be a winky face.. But it looks like it's trying to take a crap and not wink.
  24. Lets be real here. Most luxury brands already offer some level of high-end customer service, and many car brands already offer 1 year or more of routine maintenance. The cost is built into the standard luxury markup. An MKZ's markup over the Fusion is already a bitter pill for many to swallow, but to charge even more under the guise of luxury service? Not buying it. How many rentals, oil changes, and car washes does it take to make a few thousand dollars worth while? I'll definitely agree with everybody that the Black Label interior should be standard. If they're trying to be a luxury brand they should have an upgraded interior where nobody will question the quality. Nobody will sit in and think "Fusion" at all. I don't doubt they do offer some kind of service but..what kind? I honestly don't know. I doubt the average BMW/MB/Audi dealers offer free car washes and yearly detail jobs. Oil changes on luxury cars(which they will also be performing all of the service at the X mile ilterval) are no less than 100bucks at a dealer. Plus you add in(as an example) tire rotation(common) and coolant flush at 50k miles along with maybe the serpentine belt replacement. I realize most serviceing is overkill on things like a coolant flush at 50k miles(or things of the like) but if you have EVERY service performed come times to sell or trade in it has to increase its resale value. I also realize the other luxo brands offer maintenance programs and such but I think that's the point. They are showing they are a true luxury car company(whether they are there or not is another topic). I appreciate what you're saying, but it still comes down to a $55,000 FWD-based midsize car. I wouldn't spend that on a Cadillac XTS or Lexus ES and they're full size with black label comparable interiors. There are levels of the MKZ that I like, particularly 3.7L models without a bunch of fluff. It's a perfectly good Acura alternative from $38-45k. I can agree with that. And I do know that if I had 55k to spend on a car.. it isn't going to be a Lincoln. And for the reasons you just stated(mostly the FWD based). Isn't 55k 5 Series/E Class territory?
