Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM

Well you can look where chargers are right now and every day there are more added to the grid. I completely agree on the reliability of the chargers as, from what I've seen, they're very "iffy" on if they're going to be working or not, let alone if they're actually putting out a decent rate of charge. -

While there is zero dispute that there is range loss for ICE vehicles as well it's a little different with an EV in that there's more range lost and it isn't quite as easy to "fill up". Buuuut, that's only an issue if you're road-tripping. A 50% loss of range wouldn't affect me in my day-to-day life with a 300 mile optimal range. I don't know anybody who drives 150+ miles so regularly that it would be an issue. Personally, I just don't like seeing double digit range and with something like that, you'd be living there for 3-4 month out of the year. It still wouldn't be an issue, it would just bug me. -

What's unpredictable? You already know about the cold weather range so what don't you know that is unpredictable? -

Personally, I don't mind them doing their work for the A45/CLA45. Those are pretty nasty little vehicles and deserve respect, imo. Even though their price tags don't exactly match what all you're getting, also imo. My gripe is with the A35, C43 and E53. Ya know, that ones with basically the badge stuck on the trunk/steering wheel/wheels/seats to an otherwise basic vehicle. And you know damn well the guy with kids and money will have the Vette SUV parked next to his 2-door Vette. While I get the naming/branding isn't exactly "ideal", I also don't see anything truly wrong with it, like the Mustang Mach-E. The name of the vehicle would never stop me from buying something nor would it make me buy something. It's just a name. -

Watering down your brands is watering down your brands. AMG and M is a staple brand of their respective companies. Also, Mercedes-AMG GT and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe are actual car names. An AMG is an actual car now and so is an AMG A35. -

It's no different at all than Mercedes, BMW, and Audi adding the garbage "M Sport", "R-Line" and C43/E53 "aMg". -

If it was named anything else, would you then buy it? Or, does the name not make a difference if you'd buy it or not? -

What's funny is if they did that today, internet enthusiasts would go nuts for a hatchback/wagon style mustang. -

That's also the quickest trim Model Y vs the base model AWD Mach-E as the GT is not out yet. -

Per the same video I linked, 211 mile range Mach-E shows an estimated 157 mile range with a full charge in the cold. 25% range lost. -

Personally, I think it is a combination of inflation with interest rates and banks willing to give large sums of money to nearly everybody. "for only $72 more a month(for 96 months) you can step up to the Lariat F150 with massaging seats and panoramic moonroof" Sub 40 degree temps REALLY put a dent into range though. Something with a factory rating of 300 miles absolutely will not anywhere near 300 miles in the cold. A 30% range loss in really cold temperatures is not uncommon. -

Do some pumps pump at(hypothetical numbers here) 100 gallons per minutes, 30 gallons per minute, 85 gallons per minute, and 15 gallons per minute? Apparently you having entire gas stations out of service is not "far ahead" of the rest of the country considering I have never stumbled upon such a scenario. -

That's not a comparable situation because 1. the entire station is out of order and 2. you would see this on your app if this was a charging station so you wouldn't be wasting your time hopping from charger to charger trying to find a working one. The issue is the user doesn't know the station doesn't have 100% working chargers until you try them out. -

When was the last time you went to a gas station and half of the pumps just didn't work? I've never encountered this in my life, yet. -

Well they need to sort this issue out because it is far from the first time I've read stations not charging anywhere near their stated rate AND having multiple plugs "out of order". It would be infuriating if you're taking a road trip and you think you can stop for 45 minutes for a quick charge and are stuck for 2-3 hours. -

To go with those issues, they had a heck of a time both finding a charger that is working AND getting charged at a decent rate. Yes, the chargers are "rated" for 150 and 250kwh but neither were charging anywhere close to that. -
That is so disappointing that you put the factory exhaust back on the car...

CUE has been pretty trashy the entire time it's been around. It's probably much improved over the first two generations but as far as I can see, they're on 3.0 that was launched in 2017. They've probably moved on to a different acrynom as I don't see "CUE" on their website. You must not have owned a German car. -

Cadillac also didn't even offer curve illumination so if you just look at the standard assembly, they're only $280, which seems reasonable or just a realistic price for an entire OEM headlight assembly, imo. Xenon are HID and, in fact, a slightly better HID. -

Did you forget about CUE? Same generation compared to your Escalade(I looked up a 2007 GL450), OE part, NOT $1500, even the curve illumination ones.
