  1. Unless there's an ABSURD number or recalls and issues(Aviator) it's just not something I really care about if I were buying new. They'll all be taken care of under warranty(obviously) and you'll get a loaner vehicle while yours is being worked on.
  2. RIGHT?!? Somebody posted about that in a Facebook group I'm in a few months ago and I literally had to go to Dodge's website to confirm because that's ANCIENT. The 5spd auto in my dad's Tacoma certainly is not great. I'm just not a fan of the engine/trans combination. You really have to bury the throttle to get it to shift OVER 2000rpm. It's all about low revs and feels extremely lethargic. It also has the worst cruise control I've ever used. It'll accelerate to well over the set speed down hills, then wait until you're a few mph under the set speed to go almost full throttle to speed up to ~3mph OVER the set speed again when going up a hill. It also takes a couple seconds to initiate once you hit "set". You hit set, let off throttle, it'll slow down 1-2mph then speed back up to your set speed. It's pretty much only decent on flat ground. *end rant*
  3. I'd challenge that with the Dodge Journey and its 4spd auto that's still around.
  4. I'm pretty sure the new Land Cruiser has been announced as NOT coming to the US. That's a shame because it's a pretty awesome vehicle with one heck of a reputation. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-toyota-land-cruiser-first-look-review/
  5. Maybe they shouldn't have half-@ssed a product from the get-go. They pulled a Ford Focus Electric.
  6. Unfortunately, their EV fleet either looks like complete garbage or they've been extremely underwhelming. 0-60 slower than a three model year older Tesla and less than 200 miles of range?!?! That's worse than what Ford offers. I'm not sure why anybody would leave Tesla for an equally expensive yet underwhelming EQC, whenever it may finally come here, after its delays.
  7. We got nasty heat about two weeks ago where we had highs of like 105 for a couple days and the days leading up to that and following in the high 90's. It was brutal and I got a handful of patches of my tall fescue grass that went dormant(looks dead) that I'm quite bummed about but I wasn't about to try and water enough to keep those spots green.
  8. We got a ton of rain this past weekend. I think ~4 inches. NIIIIIIICE! I LOVE me some garlic and would love this. When we get further along with out home, I'd love a little garden with the common things we use plenty of like bell peppers, jalapenos, garlic and onions.
  9. Yep, I think them truly focusing on the luxury experience with quiet, comfortable and great service is taking them up a notch but it isn't a switch that can be flipped and then quadruple their sales. Word of mouth is the best advertisement and people with current Lincolns just need to have great experiences. They certainly do exist and I think it would be a shame to never offer another sedan again. I'm more disappointed they never really updated the Continental and gave it a refreshed "second" run.
  10. They may not be stand-alone but they need their own building now. I found this out because the closest Lincoln dealer to me stopped carrying Lincoln because they wouldn't build a second building for Lincoln so now my closest dealer is like 50 miles away... Yeah, it's just an insane market right now and looking at any used vehicles show this year and clearly an outlier that possibly will never happen again.
  11. As you already know, all of their platforms are being utilized on multiple vehicles which do sell in much higher volumes. The expensive parts are paid for by the volume Ford units.
  12. Did you not notice that everything that's currently in production is up and up by a good amount?
  13. Because they have such a bad reputation prior to like 2015ish. It takes A LONG TIME to finally convince people that something is worth spending luxury money on. They're finally making great products and not trying to be something they aren't. Mercedes has been in a decline since 2016. That must be rough to see. https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/mercedes-benz-us-figures/
  14. Don't worry, neither does Mercedes, BMW, or Audi. Hell, any other brand. Toyota is clearly an outlier and you're also only looking at an insane market right now. Look at the used prices in a year from now and you will absolutely have depreciation on every used vehicle, Toyotas included.
  15. That doesn't make it bad. That'd be burnt and nobody wants burnt food. 1/10 comparison rating.
  16. I thought there was a year difference but I guess they both got it in 2017.
  17. A few were surprising though. The EcoSport is clearly a POS if they can't sell their cheapest vehicle fairly quick. The Fusion also surprises because it's cancelled and I would have assumed there was cash on the hoods to move them so they didn't have old product on the lots. I would have thought the XT4 was moving a little quicker as well.
  18. No more of a failure than an SLK. Yeah, it was late but if they used their old formula 5 years earlier, it would have been a garbage product. The Continental really was the turning point for Lincoln and has to get credit for where Lincoln is today with their pretty awesome lineup(awesome for comfy, quiet-luxury - Obviously not sporty-luxury). Agreed, and that's why i have it a 9/10 baked product. it was have been more refined in the driving category had it not been on a modified old platform. Also agreed on the small things that went away with the production version. It was nothing drastic but a lot of small things added up to not-quite-as-elegant end product. Personally, I don't think it looked like a badge engineered Fusion or gussied up MKZ, but I do get what you mean.
  19. Unfortunately, it's a hideous vehicle, especially when you have the beautiful S Class on the same lot.
  20. There's zero reason to try and explain because you're instantly going to jump on the sales numbers so you can read some reviews for yourself. The new Continental was far from bad. It was the HUGE step forward that Lincoln needed. It was the first Lincoln in decades to get it's own bespoke engine and they were no longer using Ford switchgear inside. It also had, arguably, the best seats in the industry. I'd say it was 9/10 baked. It needed a little more refinement but it was far from bad.
  21. NASCAR still uses a full-on manual transmission.
  22. Nothing surprises me about David defending automatics.
  23. On a track, I get what David is saying but it certainly is NOT a distraction from driving the other 99.9% of the time, on public roads. They gave that thing damn-near FWD proportions up front. The wheels are pushed too far inward by like 6 inches.
  24. While I, personally, don't really care if they offer a car or not, there really are still plenty of people who want cars. I'm in a couple Lincoln Facebook pages and there are quite a few who still want cars and want to upgrade from their Continental or MKZ to a new one but they don't exist.
