Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM

That's also as slow as dirt.. Tough comparison. I also can't imagine keeping that and if they did, I would not like that at all. They've been doing this for decades already. You know what differences there are and not there. -
What's that mean?

One main thing here though, the Hummer is real and if that wasn't 100% production ready(that was shown) it is very close. The Cybertruck was miles from being street legal when it was showed so we don't even know what a Cybertruck really is yet. -

Literally EVERYBODY needs one of these. I assume you're talking infrastructure here because they both can charge at a rate of 150kw. -

There is nothing stopping them from adding a sedan or larger SUV. I know they're not in the sedan/car market anymore but if the market shifts again, these EV skateboard platforms can just change the body to a car. We don't even know what a "real" Cybertruck will look like because everybody with a brain knows what they showed off will need drastic changes to even be street legal. -

Every vehicle I've had has at least 10-15% loss in winter. I guess I wouldn't know about my first three vehicles as I didn't track their MPG at all and the C350 I wasn't consistent but it did give a fairly accurate readout. I started tracking religiously with my Mach 1. Check out the averages by month on my "dashboard". These are all hand calculated. https://www.fuelly.com/dashboard If that link doesn't bring you to my direct page, here are my individual vehicle pages. 2013 Escape https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/escape/2013/ccap41/332629 2016 MKC https://www.fuelly.com/car/lincoln/mkc/2016/ccap41/902433 2016 Focus https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/focus/2016/ccap41/559151 2003 Mach 1 https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/mustang/2003/ccap41/256594 -
DRIVEN: 2020 Cadillac XT6 AWD Sport, MSRP about 63,500

Zero possibility I would take this over a GV80 or Aviator and the GV80 starts at $48,900 with AWD but I wouldn't prefer a 2.5T in a vehicle of this size. The 3.5T starts at $59,150. And that link didn't take me to a dealer website, it was just a dealer locator. -

Considering the XT6 starts at $52,695, Aviator starts at $51,100, give me the Aviator all day. 3.0TT over that mediocre 3.6. The Grand Cherokee L supposedly is going to start right around 40k, which seems low but we also only have seen high end models. I certainly want to see this color, Wilder Metallic, on a vehicle and not just the "build and price". I can't seem to find a "real" picture of one. -

Well you can look where chargers are right now and every day there are more added to the grid. I completely agree on the reliability of the chargers as, from what I've seen, they're very "iffy" on if they're going to be working or not, let alone if they're actually putting out a decent rate of charge. -

While there is zero dispute that there is range loss for ICE vehicles as well it's a little different with an EV in that there's more range lost and it isn't quite as easy to "fill up". Buuuut, that's only an issue if you're road-tripping. A 50% loss of range wouldn't affect me in my day-to-day life with a 300 mile optimal range. I don't know anybody who drives 150+ miles so regularly that it would be an issue. Personally, I just don't like seeing double digit range and with something like that, you'd be living there for 3-4 month out of the year. It still wouldn't be an issue, it would just bug me. -

What's unpredictable? You already know about the cold weather range so what don't you know that is unpredictable? -

Personally, I don't mind them doing their work for the A45/CLA45. Those are pretty nasty little vehicles and deserve respect, imo. Even though their price tags don't exactly match what all you're getting, also imo. My gripe is with the A35, C43 and E53. Ya know, that ones with basically the badge stuck on the trunk/steering wheel/wheels/seats to an otherwise basic vehicle. And you know damn well the guy with kids and money will have the Vette SUV parked next to his 2-door Vette. While I get the naming/branding isn't exactly "ideal", I also don't see anything truly wrong with it, like the Mustang Mach-E. The name of the vehicle would never stop me from buying something nor would it make me buy something. It's just a name. -

Watering down your brands is watering down your brands. AMG and M is a staple brand of their respective companies. Also, Mercedes-AMG GT and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe are actual car names. An AMG is an actual car now and so is an AMG A35. -

It's no different at all than Mercedes, BMW, and Audi adding the garbage "M Sport", "R-Line" and C43/E53 "aMg". -

If it was named anything else, would you then buy it? Or, does the name not make a difference if you'd buy it or not? -

What's funny is if they did that today, internet enthusiasts would go nuts for a hatchback/wagon style mustang. -

That's also the quickest trim Model Y vs the base model AWD Mach-E as the GT is not out yet. -

Per the same video I linked, 211 mile range Mach-E shows an estimated 157 mile range with a full charge in the cold. 25% range lost. -

Personally, I think it is a combination of inflation with interest rates and banks willing to give large sums of money to nearly everybody. "for only $72 more a month(for 96 months) you can step up to the Lariat F150 with massaging seats and panoramic moonroof" Sub 40 degree temps REALLY put a dent into range though. Something with a factory rating of 300 miles absolutely will not anywhere near 300 miles in the cold. A 30% range loss in really cold temperatures is not uncommon. -

Do some pumps pump at(hypothetical numbers here) 100 gallons per minutes, 30 gallons per minute, 85 gallons per minute, and 15 gallons per minute? Apparently you having entire gas stations out of service is not "far ahead" of the rest of the country considering I have never stumbled upon such a scenario. -

That's not a comparable situation because 1. the entire station is out of order and 2. you would see this on your app if this was a charging station so you wouldn't be wasting your time hopping from charger to charger trying to find a working one. The issue is the user doesn't know the station doesn't have 100% working chargers until you try them out.
