That's a very good question @ykX, I'm leaning more towards what the better end product is. I think, in this scenario, I would be more likely to support the MDX with American workers but foreign corporation. A big part of the equation is that I'm not a fan of the union jobs the D3 suffer through but also the fact that they moved the jobs overseas to avoid those crappy unions, they themselves are admitting they don't like them either.

Maybe they should recalculate their numbers with what average drivers actually drive...

Personally, as it's our tax dollars, i could give two ?s less what it looks like. I want it to function, be economical, and do the job that's needed from it. Appearance would be at the VERY bottom of the list of things I care about.

They could have done nothing and been 4 years behind. I know you prefer the single pod design but I'd wager there's more safety built into these by actually having a crumple zone in front of the drivers.

He's certainly not a fan of the "SUV" look though. The deal breaker for me would be the lack of real buttons/controls that Teslas have. I couldn't tolerate having to scroll through the screen to adjust simple things like wipers, opening the glovebox, adjusting seat/steering wheel.

Like Olds said, it's certainly function over form and it ought to be if it's on our dime. I can guarantee the carriers themselves will LOVE having HVAC finally. I'd like to know a little more about these powertrain options though. What kind of hybrid/EV will it be? What kind of range(if EV)?

I just had a friend get their Bolt bought back because of the botched battery situation and he's getting either a Tesla Model 3 or Mach E(if he gets a chance to drive a Mach E).

Yeah, personally, if everything else were equal, I'd take a single drive transmission than a Nissan CVT. I also realize you weren't the one to bring up the Bolt as an alternative nor was my comment directed at anybody specifically, just the the comparison was being made and , personally, I don't think it's much of a comparison when the price spread is so large and one doesn't offer AWD, which is a very popular option. What about that price spread and lack of AWD? Equinox/RAV4/Escape/CR-V are all more realistic options. Sorry, typo. $23,860, not $26,860.
