  1. Over the last six years or so, I have slowly grown my Vinyl collection. This project was an effort to preserve my vinyl playing ways after the original 50 year amp gave out and I could not find a replacement anywhere on earth lol. Here's some other pics of the progress over the last week or so... After gutting it, I installed some wood slats. For the record, nothing was cut away from the cabinet itself. I steed away all the original components in case I ever come across another OEM amp for it. The only change to the cabinet itself was the paint and stain job. After that, I set did a little "switcharoo" with some old school Sony floor speakers that were put into storage due to a pair of blown passive woofers (top speakers in them were active woofers with the bottom being the passive woofers). I combined the working woofers into a single cabinet and cut out two holes on one end to install the mid and tweeter from "gutted" floor speaker cabinet. Then that was installed through the back of the console and it barely fit lol. Here's the rest of the work.
  2. Sometimes, when the $25 1972 console stereo you bought four years ago finally dies, you have to change it up a bit. Before and after below.
  3. 1000% agree! I have not been there since 1994 (after the years of visits there with family). It was tourism trash then and it has not gotten any better since then lol.
  4. Happy Birthday @Drew Dowdell!
  5. Sorry but my last two dogs both chewed on their own a***s daily, like they were being paid to do it and I had to make sure they didn't try to raid my cat's litter box for the freshest special tootsie rolls, followed by trying to give dad dog kisses after consuming said treats. I love both animals, but cats win in the end for me lol.
  6. Me too but it doesn't block their comments when they are a part of an unblocked users comment/quote (replies).
  7. Same. I have no problem with a little auto related politics but most of the last few months here has been basically a bunch of “F America” nonsense with no real substance. Just trolling is all it is and at 52 years old, I have better things to do than to constantly sift through the same nonsense just to read something of actual interest.
  8. That is what my wife has been doing to lose weight. She tracks everything these days lol.
  9. And Transportation Secretary Duffy says that if the shutdown continues for much longer, flights will be shut down just in time for Thanksgiving. Ain't it grand? So glad I have no plans on flying any time soon.
  10. It's not about putting down the fork. It's about changing what that fork picks up.
  11. That second sentence is all me as well. A lot of workshop and creating time instead of engaging in cesspool conversations with the same s*** stirrers around here..
  12. While I agree with your overall position here, you have to accept your role in feeding the troll during all of this.
  13. There used to be less of the childish political back and forth back then too. The increase in these posts has an effect on overall participation here. Sorry it has come to this @Drew Dowdell.
  14. As opposed to the “original” designs from Kia and Hyundai that have borrowed from others for decades now? Make it make sense outside of your obvious anti Toyota bias.
  15. Sure, if you’re drunk and forgot your glasses, then they look the same lol. Otherwise, if there was a Kia badge on that, you’d be praising the design. See the EV3 as an example.
