  1. An EV Trax would make a ton of sense for the big city crowd.
  2. Start the Cruze hatch. That's what I would do anyway. Range and versatility (or extra cargo room) are always a plus.
  3. It is rumored that the Bolt will find its way into several sedans and CUVs. CUVs would be the obvious first choice here but I hope they don't let the sedan market wither away by denying it the new tech.
  4. And a Subaru and a Camaro are not direct competitors but here's the part you completely ignore. They are indirect competitors (the Regal and CLA) for reasons already mentioned a thousand times and it's a far more direct comparisons than comparing a Subaru to a Camaro. Whether you choose to accept that simple fact is your problem at this point. Throwing in a sedan to CUV comparison, on top of that, is deflecting and you know it. The Regal and CLA are more closely related than the Regal and Enivison. It should be pretty clear as to why that is, but honestly this is just utterly retarded. You want to keep on deflecting and moving the damn bar to the point where you no longer make any sense and have to make up imaginary scenarios. You do it every single time and quite frankly, it is time to move on from this imaginary non-sense. Now, can we get back to GM?
  5. Excuses is all I'm reading for the fact that the Regal, which you insist the CLA does not compete with, beats the CLA. You try o compare a four door Subaru to a two door Stang yet can't understand why a four door FWD Regal gets compared to a four door FWD CLA. And "German build quality"? LMAO at that myth! A CLA in any trim is a bad example (yet fairly typical to me) of German build quality. Sorry but this dead horse has been beaten enough and this needs to get back to GM and not the overrated Benz. With the introduction of the A Class here, I give the CLA two years before it is scrapped for the very reasons you mention, which may be their plan to begin with. Can't have two bottom feeders in their "luxury" stable.
  6. And the Camaro has a terrible interior, the Corvette has an average interior. And the CLA is both of those.
  7. I've sat in a fairly loaded CLA and was very much unimpressed, given the $45K price tag that was on it. Have not sat in a new Regal but all reviews point to it being a huge step up from the now old Regal that beat the CLA.
  8. So you admit that it does compete with it then? The fact that you have to use the emblem as the upsale proves the watering down of the car itself. It's clear that it has no other redeeming quality other than "it's a Benz" because it sure as hell doesn't beat the Regal in anything else.
  9. Actually, according to several publications, it's not even as good as cars that you say it doesn't compete with, like the Regal. No one is comparing it to the E Class. That's all you and your made up criteria to deflect from the fact that despite its sales, it has not been a well reviewed car.
  10. Except that the A Class, that the CLA is based off of, is also coming to our shores creating that GM like FWD redundancy. It's classic bottom feeding tactics by a company that calls itself "The best or nothing".
  11. Volvo wants their profile back and Mazda wants their headlights back. That front end is just awful, a disturbing trend on more and more CUVs lately.
  12. Exactly. Weird as it sounds, when I bought my Magnum back in '08, I actually cross shopped it with a loaded HHR because they both had cargo room in the back. Two different length cars but they were cross shopped so when I see the endless SMK remarks about literal dimensions (like it's the be all, end all of car shopping) I can't help but laugh a bit.
  13. And none of that changes the fact that all the major publications compare the two as do car shopping sites. I do not understand your need to avoid the plain and simple truth. Maybe it's because the old Regal beat that same CLA in several comparos? How is introducing sub-$30K FWD cars (the price of the first year CLA) and having an even smaller FWD car "improving"? Where I come from, that's called diluting the brand.
  14. The wagon looks nice too and I'm not normally that big on Buick.
  15. Clearly the price difference doesn't matter and especially when the new Regal (which is mid-size, not fully size) easily crosses $30K and then some, putting it right in line with its FWD competition. You can paint it anyway you want but Benz most certainly is competing with Buick on this one.
  16. That should say "I'll LEAVE the bar here..."
  17. So while you admit that CUVs are the bulk of sales, you think going with the declining sedan market as an EV, is the way to go? Seriously? Let me ask you something. Which would sell better? A Tesla 3 sedan or A Tesla 3 crossover? And again, you sidestepped the fact that the Tesla Model S is a hatch that outsells the sedan only S Class. I'll the bar here for you to move at your leisure.
  18. The really did. There are ten different design elements slapped on it and none of them work.
  19. In fairness, the Terrain is a mess from every angle, as far as the exterior is concerned. A huge letdown.
  20. First off, ease up there. Second. The Equinox is the oddball of your group since it is a CUV and shares the same versatility. Third, he asked why they were selling it as a hatch (nevermind the fact that the Leaf has ALWAYS been a hatch) when they are "low sellers". I answered with "versatility" and pointed out the fact that the Model S is also a hatch. Why didn't he ask why Tesla gave the S a hatch when it first came out? Because it would kill his argument because the S has sold very sell, even outselling his precious S Class. Versaitility counts for something for folks who don't want a damn CUV. Not sure what is so hard to understand about it, to the point that you bring up something completely unrelated in this context. Finally, what is informed by him, is that companies like GM and others are planning the very thing he is talking about. It's this little thing called choice but to pan on a car (the Leaf) that has always been a hatched is just silly IMO. I will take a versatile hatch over and equal sedan any day personally. Ok then indeed.
  21. Versatility for those who see through the marketing BS that is a CUV. Don't know why this makes no sense to you given your stated dislike for CUVs. BTW, the Tesla S is a hatch so what was your argument again?
  22. Tap your heels three times and see if it doesn't change the facts. No? Then you have your answer and your answer is wrong. Keep making up excuses here but cars that are not cross shopped, don't get compared by multiple publications and car shopping sites. Sorry to break it you. Remember, since there is no more Verano, this is what Buick buyers will cross shop against the Regal if they are interested in a Benz as well so keep being delusional and downright mad that a Benz would ever be compared to a poor old Buick but dems the facts. It is what happens when you aim for the lower end market like the CLA does. Just until the A Class comes out. What will your excuses be then?
  23. Deflecting and feel free to reference several comparos involving both cars. Even car shopping websites confirm it. Deal with it. http://www.newcars.com/reviews/buick-regal-vs-mercedesbenz-claclass-sedan.html For comparos sake https://www.google.com/amp/www.motortrend.com/cars/bmw/3-series/2014/entry-level-luxury-sedan-comparison/amp/
  24. The Regal most certainly competes with the CLA, meaning that Benz does compete with Buick on this level. Fact.
  25. Good grief. Are you still harping on this? He laid, pretty clear, why he fits in the Bolt than the Murano yet you call him "full of $h!". Do you hear yourself?
