  1. Yeah, after a little research I realize that was not the case. It could have easily been done on those though. It was the best upsell of the old Astros and Safaris. Maybe they are not available and practical (economically speaking) because of the extra weight in this CAFE age?
  2. While talking about the the high end that Cadillac doesn't have, he will completely sidestep the low end that Cadillac also doesn't have (Looking at you FWD CLA, A Class, and Metris). "Look ma! There's a bar over there! Can I just kick it for the hell of it?"
  3. I swore I've seen some older commercial model Suburbans (before Tahoe existed) that had them but maybe I'm getting a little foggy in my old age. Still love the concept and wish more SUVs had them. It's that versatility that I'm such a fan of.
  4. Dutch doors are definitely the best of both worlds. The older Suburbans used to have them as well (early and mid 90s models I believe).
  5. The bar moving is simply baffling nad unprecedented and that is saying something given the history of rabid fanboys I have seen over the years.
  6. Actually you will not see me defending that once. I am pointing out sales and how you keep moving the bar to suit your argument. Big difference there because I have been very clear about my disdain for CUVs on this site. Btw, that very same argument can be applied to you in reverse. And in yet another bar move, you attempt to compare mainstream brand Chevy to luxury maker Mercedes. I have no words for the pure grade A bull$h! fallacy of that "argument".
  7. First bar move (all of this is paraphrased btw) "Mercedes outsells Cadillac in China" responded with "Buick outsells them both by light years" Second bar move "Well FWD CUVs will phase out and Benz will rule all" and "Buick is not luxury" (even though their cars get compared and cross shopped with MBs FWD offerings) Just kick the damn bar over already and be done with it.
  8. A bit cheaper and outsells the others by mere light years. Yeah, completely comparable. And I don't care about "once upon a time". And big words on FWD vehicles when Benz is increasing their FWD sedan stable.
  9. And again moving the bar. We were not talking about Europe. We are talking about here and the XT5 is spanking Benz on that front. I know it's a hard pill to swallow but you have to swallow it nonetheless and stop trying to move the argument to suit your argument. And the Buick Envision outsells all three of those combined. That's why you have to be careful moving that bar around like you do.
  10. The 4Runners do still have that feature. Very handy indeed.
  11. Benz has two FWD sedans (one is only three years old with another new one on the way). Cadillac has one sedan that is on borrowed time and leaving this world. That is what we are talking about here. Sedans, not CUVs. Stop moving the damn bar when you're the one who made the "sedans based off of Malibu" statement.
  12. The XTS enjoys brisk fleet sales and is on the way out and the XT4 doesn't exist and when it does, it will be a FWD CUV (Something Benz also has plenty of). Meanwhile, Benz is set to put out its SECOND FWD lower end sedan. And you brought up FWD sedans which is why we are talking about sedans and not CUVs See the difference there yet?
  13. Good points but in fairness, I have dealt with some US born fundamentalist types who are much the same way (looking at some in the southern baptist community) as the man you speak of and they make no apologies for it. Like Dave said, the guy was just an asshole regardless of his culture.
  14. Sorry. Cadillac doesn't load their luxury stable with FWD sedans.
  15. See my comment to Drew. It's not so much the blue, even though I would not be caught dead with it. It's the total lack of contrast. Lincoln or Land Rover, it doesn't matter. One shade of blue with no contrast, is no better than an all gray, black, or tan interior. That color would also not age well in the Phoenix heat.
  16. This is all I see when I see that blue interior and it is not good.
  17. Blue would be fine if it wasn't all blue throughout. No contrast and just wreaks of the 70s Contis of yore. It ruins a very nice design here.
  18. I would not be caught dead with this 1970s color scheme that Lincoln chose to show off last year. Just hideous and illustrates one of the many problems with this car. The text below it was really eye opening as well.
  19. Did their own thing? If you mean by going back to the posh rides of yesterday, then yes they are doing their "own thing". However, it is a formula that has been used by many others over the years, so their "own thing" is really just more of the same to me and the lackluster sales and so so reviews seem to reflect that. It was all hype with very little substance to me which is a shame because it had the potential to be something truly different for Lincoln and it wasn't.
  20. I have a similar setup. Screw cable and satellite.
  21. Porsches buyers not caring is not the point of my statement and you know it. Actually read what I said instead of what you think I said before your next bar move. A $140K Cayenne interior shows very little distinction from a $70K Cayenne and the same applies for Mercedes but yet you (once again) only levy that criticism towards a domestic make.
  22. MPGs achieved by hypermiling a hypercar. Let that oxymoron sink in for a minute.
  23. Then why bring up the interior? It is clear that this can compete with the AMG SUVs, despite your earlier claim that no one had until the Cayenne and until you have actually sat in one, further remarks about its interior are just short sighted and just outright trolling.
  24. Footnote to the MPG statement. The Porsche 918 gets only 22 MPG (just saw that cap posted the same thing), not 26 as SMK claims while a Volt gets 37MPG gas only. The Project One will not get anywhere close to the Volt.
  25. Let me say this only once because I am not going to waste my time here. No way a 1000HP Hypercar gets anywhere near what a Volt gets in overall MPGs, much less a Prius. You are literally just pulling numbers out of thin air.
