  1. I was speaking, more or less, of my disdain for the sloped roof tall cars calling themselves "utility" when my old Magnum was more versatile. I do agree that it is good to have choices though so don't think I'm poopooing the idea of them. I just think most of them are fluff over function.
  2. Again, reference my "just one time" remark. Load something big and boxy in that Murano and see how that works out when you can't close the lift gate. There are others that do a much better job of having usable space all the way around and not just for laying your golf clubs in. Hell I can do that with a Chevy Sonic sedan so maybe that's not the best comparison here.
  3. Speaking more along the lines of the new Traverse and the GMC twins. The Traverse got rid of the sloped minivan look for a much more utilitarian look (and a better look IMO). The Acadia is much the same here. Whatever the Blazer turns out he will be the exception here and I've already made it clear that this new model should not carry the Blazer name for reasons already stated.
  4. GM is not guilty of what I'm saying though Drew and I thought I made that pretty clear. Way to miss the point entirely.
  5. Says you because not everyone needs a Suburban. Going midsize doesn't mean you should have to compromise on room just because the lastest design fad is a sloped roofline. The GC and Durango are perfect examples of midsize design and utility done right in a midsize.
  6. Not disagreeing there but you said he stating that they should not be sold when he never said that. That was my point. It was also meant to highlight the fact that they all need not be the same basic shape (as Reg suggests). While I hate CUVs, at least GM is bucking the tall car trend a bit and putting out something that won't be confused with every other CUV in the mall parking lot. Once a year doesn't sound like a big deal until you need that extra space that ONE time. Not everyone needs the bed of a pick up but just one use makes it worth the price of admission for a lot of folks.
  7. He made a clear distinction that they are not good for big people, not that they shouldn't be sold at all. My bigger issue with them is the compromised cargo room in the back and the tall car look that is simply boring to look at and honestly, fairly unoriginal at this point.
  8. So not only should they look like everyone else, but they should mimic the equal amount of uselessness that is inherit in these "rakish" designs (i.e. Compromised cargo room)? Yeah, I'll pass and so should GM.
  9. When has it ever been a good idea for a GM to be more like a Ford (and vice versa)? More people are actually like the more truck like look of the Acadia. The Traverse seems to be getting a similar reaction. If I have to pick my poison with a CUV (since I really don't care for any CUVs), I would actually take one that didn't look a like tall car.
  10. Not a surprising move but giving the Blazer name to yet another CUV is just insulting to the name.
  11. Me thinks someone was just trolling lol.
  12. Because that is the last one made and it was in the 80's not 1975. This is long overdue and just in time for future Chinese ownership.
  13. Yet I still like both cars. You are correct though sir.
  14. Didn't realize I needed permission to merely state the truth of what happened before you left.
  15. You're hurting my feelings lol. I'm merely stating the facts. Funny thing is that there have no issues like that since you (and a few others) left. Coincidence? Certainly doesn't seem like it given your snide remark. Best of luck to you and your your future endeavors ccap, wherever it may be.
  16. It loses even more fun when folks admit to blatant trolling, actually brag about said trolling, and then act surprised because they get called out for said trolling and try to turn it on everyone else.
  17. Stop acting like everyone has a simple hatred when they are only talking about the facts. Jeep has more value than everything combined else in the FCA stable. It's simple economics, not simple hatred. We wont even get into the silly RAM vs GMC comparison as your pointless Buick and Cadillac remark. That's just deflection on your part. For example, Buick is only 0.7% off of this time last year so they are clearly not "basically useless".
  18. If you needed anymore proof that the only brand worth any kind money under FCA is Jeep, this right here is it. This is what happens when everything else under their U.S. Umbrella gets neglected to the point of obsoletence.
  19. Yes, that what it is </sarcasm>. It's not because you also tend to look at them through rose colored glasses while ignoring the mass dumping they have taken on Dodge and Chrysler, and to a certain extent RAM. Jeep is the only reason why they are making any money. As far as the Giulia goes, what were the sales "expectations" to begin with? It easy to "exceed" expectations when you had zero sales in this country for a few decades. Just saying, how high was the sales bar to begin with?
  20. It is tiny, even for me and I'm only 5'10".
  21. Wrong on literally all counts. You don't have to share body panels to have sales overlap. I'm not even going to comment on the rest because you have a habit of using imaginary numbers to suit your argument like saying that the current Tahoes price positions itself as luxury when it doesn't. Clearly the luxury position is occupied by the Escalade and to a lesser extent the Yukon Denali.
  22. Oh, I'm not denying the overlap but SMK criticizes GM freely on it while ignoring the fact that Benz does the same thing if not worse.
  23. Mercedes models overlap and compete with each other all the time. This is a fact that you seem to forget while criticizing GM yet again for the same thing.
  24. Not surprising to me as most people don't seem to even use it. And Mercedes should not be under $30K yet we will soon have the A Class. See how that can get turned around?
