  1. They will not, I repeat, will not sell 200K Model 3s in one year.
  2. So in this world of yours, sedans are selling better than CUVs? Oh and they had 65,000 cancellations. Exactly my point.
  3. You were specifically agianst options for such a "low volume" car. Only after it was pointed out that others do the same thing, did you move the bar.
  4. It is quite sharp. Pricey, but sharp nonetheless.
  5. I do not care about volume. I only highlighted it to show you that low volume clearly doesn't matter when it comes to offering options. Surely if Benz, Porsche, and a host of other makes can get away with it, then so can GM. It's that simple, regardless of the obvious trolling attempt going on here. Because this is about GM. That's why it's perplexing him. If this were about Benz, the narrative would be completely different.
  6. Thanks for proving my point because S Class worldwide sales are still low volume (and I should clarify that I was referring to US sales) by definition and offering multiple engine packages has clearly never been an issue for them. What's funny here is that despite having as large an R&D budget as Benz, you don't think GM has the resources or the need to spread that out on a world beating car.
  7. So I saw this today and said to myself something I though I'd never say, "That's a sharp looking Lexus".
  8. And? The Vette using two engines is not a big deal at all so adding one more is perfectly fine in this realm. Again, it's called choice which is ALWAYS a good thing. You are also assuming that this will be in addition to a regular Vette, which no one knows for sure at this point. If it replaces the current model entirely, then that makes this an even smarter move by GM to offer more choice in the engine department. However, even if they do keep the current Vette (front engine), then it still isn't a big deal to have three engine choice for the more expensive mid-engine model. BTW, you made my point about this by illustrating the 911 engine uses here. The Vette uses a similar formula so again, this is not a big deal except for those just looking to, yet again, nitpick GM. One last thing. How many engine choices are there for the low volume S Class? I bring it up because they sell fewer models of it than Chevy does for the Vette so I'm curious how you address that
  9. Porsche has offered multiple engines on the 911 for years and is also low volume. Options are a good thing too, last time I checked.
  10. Don't care for Audi at all. Just overdressed VWs that are just too vanilla for me. Just my opinion though And yes, a few sedans are selling but the key word there is "few".
  11. Go look at overall sedan sales versus CUV and truck sales and try again to tell us that they aren't taking a beating. Retail overall is down which does not include rental sales. This is from a few months ago. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2017/07/03/june-auto-sales.html
  12. Possibly. However my main point was that SMK is ragging on GM for being worth "less" than Tesla when Daimler is not far from being passed by Tesla themselves, thus exposing his double standard because he wouldn't dare bring up that fact as a negative against Daimler like he is trying to do against GM.
  13. My mistake however Tesla is claiming while Daimler has been relatively stagnant. In six months (at its current rate of gain), they will surpass Daimler. Where your argument move to at that point since you use it as a negative against GM? https://www.google.com/amp/s/seekingalpha.com/amp/article/4062035-tesla-set-become-second-biggest-global-carmaker-market-cap-next-year
  14. It wasn't mindless defending. It was shooting down the usual BS by the usual suspects and presenting simple facts. It's that simple. I like Tesla and I like a fair portion of GM but I'm not blind to simple facts and when the same trolls keep spewing the same bar moving nonsense, over and over again, I'm going to call them out on it.
  15. Lol! Yet Fiat and Alfa are still, by far, the weak sales links on the FCA chain.
  16. Damn. Looks like almost everyone is taking a severe beating this year. Ouch!
  17. ATS=CT4 CTS=CT5 That is not being killed off. The name change has been in the works for years now. Mercedes has pulled a similar deal with some of their models but I'm sure you wouldn't call them being "killed off". GLK=GLC
  18. Tesla is also worth more than Mercedes but we will just gloss over that little fact for now.
  19. I agree. I was trying to be slightly optimistic though lol.
  20. I think it will be less than half that (if that) due to well known supply constraints and their history of underproduction.
  21. See that's where you got things twisted up. It makes sense for Benz to do an EV CUV for reasons already stated. You're the one giving Tesla a free pass on not doing when if this were a GM product, you would bemoan the fact that they released a sedan when sedans are struggling in the market place. Oh oh and the B Class is $h! because it has no real range and is fugly from every angle. I've already told you this so don't try to put words in my mouth when you clearly haven't paid attention to the words being said here. To all three points, yes and then some. It's just more of that bar moving by SMK to fit his narrative that everything GM is $h!.
  22. The hell you can't compare them because you just did. 0-60 is not everything and the base model 3 is 5.6 seconds. You have to pay more money to unlock more power out of it. Again, the Bolt has a longer range than the standard 3, more cargo room and a far better service and dealer network, all things that are truly important to those grocery getter you referenced earlier but now are trying to side step. Oh and you will never find a 3 at $35K, never. MT had no problem comparing the Bolt to the S not too long ago and it held up quite well against it yet you think you can't compare it to a 3? https://www.google.com/amp/www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/bolt-ev/2017/2017-chevrolet-bolt-ev-vs-2016-tesla-model-s-60/amp/
  23. And this is why the B Class is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
