Oh good grief. Who cares (referring to the both of you)? You both participated in the same conversation on a Random Thought thread. Moving along...had an Bangle era 7 series behind me this morning and forgot how butt ugly that car was in the front. Simply hideous.

Mercedez Benz News New Trademark Filings Possibly Give A Clue To Mercedes' EV Subbrand
You keep telling yourself that. Doesn't make it true but by all means, keep telling yourself that Mercedes isn't worried about Tesla. Either way, late to the game. Where is Cadillac, Lincoln, Acura, Lexus, JLR, and the rest of them? They don't even have electric cars in development yet. As far as you know they do not have anything in development, but they very well could. Remember this is a company that caught the whole world with their pants down when they showed off the BOLT and announced it going into production. The BOLT forced Tesla's hand in regards to the T3 and it also is forcing all auto companies to move forward with an EV. Cadillac very well could have a whole group of EV's on the drawing board that you and the rest of us know nothing about. MB is reacting to the fact that Tesla S is making inroads into their top end line of auto's. More and more people buy a Tesla over an S model from MB. Tesla Model S sold 50,300 units worldwide in 2015. The S-class was close to 100,000 the past 2 years. Tesla also has the only electric performance car on the market, what happens when there are 5 cars in that segment? I also read the average transaction price of a Model S is $79,000 vs $106,000 for an S-class, so we have a bit of a gap there. You do understand the distinction that he made when he said that more and more people are buying the Tesla right? It doesn't mean Tesla sold more but more people are now picking it over the S Class.

You keep telling yourself that. Doesn't make it true but by all means, keep telling yourself that Mercedes isn't worried about Tesla. Either way, late to the game.Daimler used to own 8% of Tesla but sold it. They know what Tesla is but they aren't going to abandon 2 million sales a year to chase 50-100k electric sales. Mercedes will have 10 plug in hybrids by next year, they have 3 for sale right now, so they offer electric driving already, just not pure EV besides the b-class that no one wants. The 4 EV's are coming and at a good time when the market will want them.Where is Cadillac, Lincoln, Acura, Lexus, JLR, and the rest of them? They don't even have electric cars in deleopment yet. Again, you keep telling yourself that. The fact that they are creating this sub brand says otherwise though.

Sorry but if you text and drive then you should just remove yourself from the roads. One of those fools almost sideswiped me with certified pre-owned 5 Series while he was texting something of the upmost importance, I'm sure.

Mercedez Benz News Rumorpile: Mercedes-Benz To Build Out A Subbrand For Electric Vehicles
None of those CUVs, that they get the bulk of their sales from these days, have the "heritage" you speak of yet I couldn't help but notice that you skipped over that part. I'm with Balth btw. The letter schemes being used by car companies these days is just too generic and lacks identity. My point to you is that if it is a knock on Cadillac, then it is also a knock on Mercedes. Mercedes first SUV was the G, all their SUVs now have G in the name. And hard for a GLK or GLC to have heritage when it came out in 2009. But they have kept the naming nomenclature similar , and it is consistent across the line. Guess you forgot about the ML and your statement about the year the GLC came illustrates why Cadillac did what they did. The old name scheme had to go. As much heritage as those names held at one time, by 2000 no one gave two craps about them because Cadillac was no longer what they once were. The names became synonymous with the junk years at GM. To make a fresh start, they had to change the naming on them once the new models came out. Again, I'm not crazy about any of the letter named cars from any make. They just come off as generic, whether it is from Cadillac or Mercedes.

Oh good grief. Again, overblown unless you want a car that might come out next year, or the year after, or the year after that, from a company with a limited sales network vs. an established brand that already has a physical car on its way that will end up being the same price or cheaper (given GMs pricing schemes). For most, this alleged savings will not be worth it for so little gain in range.

You're right. Who would want a longer range? Oh good grief drama queen. Of course people want longer ranges but here's the thing that you clearly don't get. At $35k(37,500), they are getting longer range than anything else in that price range by long shot. What is so hard to understand about that? Except the Model 3 and it's starting price is $2,500 cheaper. Allegedly and it will be out after the Bolt at this point. It also has a whole fifteen miles more range while being so "slippery". Like I said, it is overblown.

Who cares, in daily driving that little tiny bit does not make that big of a difference and the looks of the Bolt are way better than the Prius or Tesla IMHO. Efficiency is noticed daily. Every time you commute somewhere the vehicle's efficiency matters. Bolt looks terrible compared to the Tesla but better than the Prius, but that doesn't really matter as that isn't really the topic and it's opinion based anyway... If the 200 mile range Bolt could claim 220miles, wouldn't that be better? 0.08 isn't a "tiny" amount. If you keep the Bolt within city limits, it won't batter as your speeds will rarely see north of 40mph. Beyond that is where the benefits multiply for an efficient aero package on a vehicle. Sorry but this whole argument is overblown. 200 miles is still far more than any other EV is this price range. You're right. Who would want a longer range? Oh good grief drama queen. Way better looking than the butt ugly i3 car from BMW. that is truly ugly just like the Prius. I take this bolt over the BMW i3 or the prius any day.The Prius' drag coefficient is only 0.24 though. Huge difference.Tesla Model X is also 0.24!Who cares, in daily driving that little tiny bit does not make that big of a difference and the looks of the Bolt are way better than the Prius or Tesla IMHO.Efficiency is noticed daily. I am talking about the naming schemes that you give Mercedes a free pass on while criticizing Cadillacs naming scheme. Good grief man. Try to keep up here. Now that you say it though, where is the Mercedes EV? I hear and read a lot of talk but until I see one at my local MB dealership, it is just as much vapor ware as anything by Cadillac.

Mercedes rebadged ( extent of which is unknown ) Nissan = bad? Chevrolet rebadged 100% Nissan = good? Seems Chevy is coming across as an also-ran in the Van segment. Again, apples to oranges comparison and it has been explained to you as to why that's the case. And before you start off about rebadging and the resulting also ran status, I have two words for you...Mercury Villager.

Rip Off or Compliment?
The Chinese ones (and the Kia Amanti) are obvious rip offs but it is a stretch to say that the Nissan is ripping off the Porsche. Only the profile is similar, nothing else.
