  1. https://www.iihs.org/iihs/news/desktopnews/crashes-rise-in-first-states-to-begin-legalized-retail-sales-of-recreational-marijuana "Crashes are up by as much as 6 percent in Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, compared with neighboring states that haven't legalized marijuana for recreational use, new research from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) shows." "The new IIHS-HLDI research on marijuana and crashes indicates that legalizing marijuana for all uses is having a negative impact on the safety of our roads," says IIHS-HLDI President David Harkey. "States exploring legalizing marijuana should consider this effect on highway safety." "In addition to the study states, Alaska, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and the District of Columbia also allow recreational use of marijuana for adults 21 and older and medical use of marijuana. Another 22 states allow medical marijuana, while 15 more states permit the use of specific cannabis products for designated medical conditions. Legalization of recreational use is pending in New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. In November, Michigan and North Dakota will hold referendums on marijuana, and Missouri and Utah voters will decide whether to expand medical marijuana laws in their states." "Driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal in all 50 states and D.C., but determining impairment is challenging. Unlike alcohol, the amount of marijuana present in a person's body doesn't consistently relate to impairment. THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the primary psychoactive component of cannabis. A positive test for THC and its active metabolite doesn't mean the driver was impaired at the time of the crash. Habitual users of marijuana may have positive blood tests for THC days or weeks after using the drug."
  2. I am in the same boat, really want Mustang GT but also interested in Miata, BRZ is not doing it to me for some reason. I checked, Mustang commands enormous insurance rates (even higher than a Corvette). Miata would be fun for autocross and more economical to upkeep and run, but it is like buying a bike, will be very limited use due to the size and also lack of power is bothering me a bit. Mustang GT would be a awesome and much more useful due to a back seat for kids, more comfortable interior but much more expensive to run. Wife will be questioning all the choices but she just got a bigger house and renovated kitchen, I think I deserve to get something as well.
  3. I agree, I think maybe even though they very similar, X5 while smaller has bigger headlights, X7 is squinting too much Not a fan of huge silver grill
  4. Unlike Audi or BMW Mazda will not require thousands of dollars to keep it running, $35k is average now for a loaded mid size sedan. You are right about Carplay/Android Auto, GM did great by offering it one of the first manufacturers. But Honda for example just recently started to offer it also, and Toyota starting to do it just now as well. Mazda is tiny compared to all these giants.
  5. My previous daily was '06 Mazda 3 hatchback manual, that I bought new and put almost 250k miles in 8 years. My current daily is '10 G37S sedan that I bought used in 2014 and put already on it about 126k miles (in addition to existing 38k). 1) Extra 170hp 2) RWD 3) S-package and good weight distribution makes it excellent handling sedan, much better than great but FWD Mazda. 4) Bose stereo, my Mazda had base stereo system 5) Bluetooth calling. Mazda had a much better feeling manual transmission, Nissan's does not feel that great in comparison, hatchback was very useful despite smaller size, fuel economy was much better 29mpg on regular vs 22-23mpg on premium. Since I have a long commute and put so many miles on my cars, I decided next time I am getting cheap daily (probably my dad's Mazda 6) and than will get sporty car for fun.
  6. And this is what Car and Driver wrote about both (pure numbers don't tell the whole story): Buick: HIGHS: Dapper styling, hatchback versatility, compliant ride, peppy turbo engine. LOWS: Middling interior materials, heavy (manual) liftgate, uninspiring dynamics. Mazda: HIGHS: Superb driving dynamics, class-above interior look and feel, pretty darn pretty. LOWS: Virtually no options, no hybrid or plug-in versions, top turbo engine lacks real verve. VERDICT: A sports sedan impersonating a mid-size family sedan. _______________ Sorry, even according to C&D not even close
  7. I meant two adults in the back seat which four average adults total.
  8. Sorry, you are not a typical case. According to the latest statistical data average US male is 5 feet 9 inches tall and female is 5 feet 4 inches. This car can perfectly accommodate two average males according to dimensions and @William Maley . Edit: two average adults in the back with four average adults total.
  9. Exactly. These cars are family cars and usually back seat reserved for kids or pets. Especially, in mid size sedan category. You want to fit 5 full size adults in a car, you need to buy a full size sedan or CUV. My dad has 2016 Mazda 6 and one time I was driving it with three 8 to 11 year old kids in the back, and they fit perfectly fine there,
  10. According to MB website, current lease offer on S 560 4Matic is $1499 a month plus $8793 down payment without taxes and fees for 36 month. So in three years the person leasing will pay at least $62800 for the lease on a car with MSRP of about $109k. I think they are doing all right with it.
  11. Miata Off-road Will be interesting maybe Subaru Ascent, how it compares to others
  12. They make plenty of fun about Jaguar's and Land Rover's build quality. Just last season on Amazon's Grand Tour they did old Jags challenge and had plenty of laughs about their build quality. They don't discriminate who they make fun of. That's why they are so great. Clarkson loved plenty of American cars too, owned Ford GT.
  13. That reminds when Clarkson on Top Gear tested F-150 Lightning in a small English town.
  14. It might work in a small country like Israel, but only if there will be a good infrastructure and good selection of cars to choose from. If they start now on the infrastructure, it might be feasible by 2030.
  15. In Europe the level of car's luxury is lower I believe in general. So A-class MB is not expected to be at the same level as we expect here. In regards to vans, we just visited Italy this year and took a transfer from the airport to another town, the van was MB and it definitely felt more luxurious than any other van I have been in.
  16. "Energy minister to present plan to reduce pollution, strengthen ‘peace axis’ through sole use of natural gas and alternative fuels for energy production and transportation" It is a plan that will be presented and will require approval of the government, which will not be easy.
  17. In Israel, it doesn't say it will be banned, just says they forecast that they will be fully reliant on natural gas.
  18. I think it all depends how much you pay and what you expect for the money, When you buy a MB I don't believe you expect to get an interior at the same level as Chevy.
  19. I have to agree with @dfelt, nothing about X-class interior says it is a luxury truck.
  20. Why do you need another Golf when you have GTI, if you don't mind me asking? Project car of some sorts?
  21. LOL again? What it has been 3 or four month since the last one? Just kidding. Care to give a hint? I am assuming it might to replace GTI? Daily driver or weekend fun? Four door or two?
  22. From the reviews I have read Project Cars 2 is better than GT Sport but you NEED the wheel setup for it (pretty much unplayable with controller as I understand).
