  1. Holy crap, $75k for a truck, starting at $65k https://www.motortrend.com/cars/gmc/sierra-1500/2019/2019-gmc-sierra-denali-at4-first-test-review/
  2. I am a Mustang fan but I am not a hardcore fan, I actually was considering Camaro somewhat because of its performance but was not a fan of exterior. However, after I sat in one it sealed it for me - it was night and day compared to the Mustang, not even close. I am not sure the pricing is the biggest issue.
  3. Thanks a lot for the input. I know you are 911 fan but German cars (911, Cayman or M3/M4) are out for me for a number of reasons. I think C6 base I can get relatively new and low mileage for the money, and the performance will be enough for my needs. Actually, I doubt I will be ready to buy sooner than a year or so from now, and by that time C7 might be obtainable for that money.
  4. Not arguing with that, but I hear constantly people at gas station put either full tank or $20 worth of gas regardless of car or truck they are driving,
  5. I think for general public it is much easier to understand charging in terms of range than kWh, 99.9% of people have no idea what is kilo or watt or kwh. Approximate range is what people understand. Same thing with gas cars, most people look at how far they can get on a tank of gas, or $20 worth of gas,
  6. Still going to take time until it is developed and widespread. But once they do it it will probably give a big push to electric vehicles.
  7. I am a Roku fan, works great and with pretty much any service. I mostly use it with Netflix and Amazon Prime, but used it with YoutubeTV recently too and it worked great. Have to use Comcast for internet since we don't have FIOS service in our area but has been cable tv free for quite some time now.
  8. So stupid. Absolutely not aerodynamic and they are full of $h! about the specs.
  9. This is up to a much longer discussion, he is the subject of many studies. While the plant was nationalized it was still controlled by Ford, and he and few other top executives directly or indirectly were responsible. In regards to his anti-semitic views, he not only held them well into 1930s and even 40s (not just in 1920s as you present), he did many unforgivable things. Only, by the end of his life he seems to change his view on the subject.
  10. Stop white washing the history. A short search will reveal plenty of information on the subject. His business history creating Ford motor company has nothing to do with other things he did, including using slave labor in the European factory and his rampant antisemitism that fit perfectly the Nazi ideology.
  11. Actually, Ford was a known Nazi sympathizer and supporter and known anti-semite.
  12. Any opinion from guys who get to drive a lot of cars? @Drew Dowdell, @Frisky Dingo, @William Maley?
  13. I sat in both at an auto show and to me Corvette's interior felt about as small as Miata's. For comfort I think Mustang will be substantially more comfortable without a question. When compared by numbers interior of the C6 and Miata (first number is Corvette) they are very close: Front Legroom 43.1 " 43.1 " Front Headroom 37.7 " 37.4 " Front Hip Room 53.7 " 52.0 " Front Shoulder Room 55.2 " 52.2 " Personally I tend to agree. In a year or two I think C7 Corvette prices will get to be mid thirties and than it might be a more difficult comparison.
  14. Sure. One thing, I don't look at them strictly from a performance perspective. None of us is a professional driver and these will not be strictly track cars. I probably should have put a little more info into the question and poll, but I look at these as a second "fun" car. How much of the Z06 capability you or I can actually use? Lets just stick to these three for now.
  15. I believe for about $35k you can get 2011 -2013 base C6 with low miles. I don't want to compare it to a 15 year old Vette or a car with 100k miles, so I put something reasonable.
  16. In a 100 mile radius from where i live there are 16 manual A4s and 9 A5s. I wonder what are the chances of them being sold, A4 in premium trim doesn't strike me as car a manual driving enthusiast would buy.
  17. Which one will you choose with your own money? Please, provide a reason. Responses from people who get to drive a lot of cars especially appreciated.
  18. Put the nephews in the truck bed, they will be fine!
  19. We only occasionally use third row for short trips (kids friends, or if we going somewhere close with parents) so a tight third row not a huge problem for us. But if we didn't need third row I think Grand Cherokee would be a strong contender for us.
  20. Sure. CX-9 is compromised in terms of space but after I drove one I got hooked and I think it will be my wife's next vehicle. But I love driving (so does my wife to some extent). Most of the people I know will go just for practicality or the badge.
  21. I somewhat disagree. CX-9 while compromised on space vs Atlas or Pilot still has plenty of space for a family of four (my family is family of four so I speak from experience). Personally, Atlas might be very practical but I just can't get past the ugly and boring exterior. I would rather have Pilot or Ascent if I needed something with more room than CX-9.
  22. I was playing with my insurance, trying to add different sports cars to see the difference in premiums and discovered something surprising: To add new Mustang GT will cost me almost $200 a year more than a new Corvette and over $300 a year more than Miata. If I go with used 'Vette (about '11-'12 that costs about the same as new Mustang GT or Miata Club) it is actually will be almost $100 a year cheaper than the new Miata and almost $400 cheaper than the Mustang! Even few year old Mustang GT still significantly more expensive to insure than everything else. Damn all these Cars and Coffee idiots that crash into people
  23. I agree about Brother printer but would go with laser. I have a Brother color laser printer for about 5 years now and it has been great.
  24. I think these look great! They should have done these at least 10 years ago!
  25. Things only people from New Jersey get: 1. Our official mascot should be the holy trinity of pork roll, egg and cheese (aka the Taylor ham sandwich). Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried one. 2. We have a peculiar combination of pride and self-loathing about our state identity. 3. We know every which way to commute from New Jersey to Manhattan. 4. We define where we live based on turnpike (or parkway) exits. 5. And by malls. Are you near Cherry Hill, Bridgewater, Palisades, Freehold Raceway or Short Hills? 6. No one calls it “Joisey.” 7. But some of us do have some funny pronunciation. Repeat after us: wudder (water) and begel (bagel). 8. We don’t know how to pump our own gas. And we’re not sorry about it. 9. In some places, people hang out at coffee shops. We hang out at diners. 10. New Yorkers can have their $4 lattes. We’ll take Wawa coffee (and hoagies) any day. 11. North and South Jersey might as well be different states. And Central Jersey has an identity crisis. 12. No, that’s not raw sewage you’re smelling. It’s just Elizabeth. 13. It’s down the shore, people. And no, we’re not talking about that reality show that ruined our rep forever. 14. Cape May is Victorian perfection. 15. It’s where we get our hoagies delivered to us right on the beach. 16. We don’t like Bennys and Shoobies (you know…tourists from NY and PA) crowding our beaches in the summer. 17. But we’re happy to play host to the Jets and the Giants at East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium. 18. In New Jersey, if it moves, there’s a tax on it. Except clothes. So we buy a lot of them. 19. We don’t really believe in the Jersey Devil…but Chris Christie is real. 20. But the Pine Barrens are most definitely haunted. 21. And our Garden State peaches, tomatoes and blueberries are undoubtedly the best in the country. 22. We know better than to make left turns. That’s what jug handles are for. 23. Speaking of jug handles, they’re a rite of passage. And boy is it fun watching out-of-towners trying to figure them out. 24. It’s impossible to avoid toll roads. That’s why we all have EZ-Pass. 25. Atlantic City should be reserved exclusively for bachelorette parties…and the Miss America pageant. 26. We’re not all mobsters and corrupt politicians, as The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire might have you believe. 27. But we do know a lot of guys named Tony. 28. Snooki isn’t actually from NJ. 29. Bruce Springsteen is. He’s called “The Boss” for a reason. 30. And we’ll always heart Bon Jovi
