  1. good god, i can see the lawyers drooling now....
  2. good god, if any gm or ford had all these issues people would be out for blood. seems to me that several of these issues could be very dangerous to one's life, and these toyo kool-aide drinkers keep bragging about how good these sh!tboxes are? talk about brainwashing. i doubt if any of these toyo loving fools can even spell "lemon", let alone know what one is.
  3. still one of the ugliest p.o.s.'s on the road. wonder when it gets its braces removed.
  4. roo, since apparently a 115k 95 taurus don't impress you, maybe my 91 grand marquis with 230k would. i will grant you this much, since the engine was replaced at 74k (due to owner neglect) but everything else except the idler arm, pittman arm, and brake lines, are original( and i don't baby it at all, other than maintanence). now, i am guessing you don't live in the rust belt, because the odds of your 95 accord doing what it has would be rather slim. up here in the cleveland area we use a gawdawful amount of road salt in the winter. around here, japanese cars still rust worse that domestics for the most part. accords tend to suffer from structural rust, usually where the rear suspension components attach. i have seen this on accords as new as 97. camry's up to 96 suffer similarly. this i just don't see in domestics. we still have an unreal amount of mid 80's crown vics/grand marquis/town car on our roads here, and a heck of a lot of fwd full-size mid 80's gm cars as well. gm10's seem to hold up well too. they may be rusty as hell, but they just aren't becoming unsafe as 1o or so yr old japanese cars, when they aren't babied, tend to do.
  5. being a die-hard ford guy i will say it ain't too shabby. i am disappointed tho that it does not carry on the styling of the new tahoe, imho the damn best looking full-size suv ever.
  6. as lons as we're playing this stupid game... my pos 77 silverado's engine crapped out for no apparent reason just after i sold it. you'd think an engine would last for more than 377k miles.
  7. bbbboooooooorrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg!!!!!!!!
  8. all i have to say is..... bye-bye and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
  9. they changed their oil BASED ON WHAT THE OWNERS MANUAL TOLD THEM! you need to get something straight here.......
  10. maybe "soul" is the wrong choice of words on our part, maybe "character" would be better. something that can make one feel a sense of "connection" to their vehicle. i drive a grand marquis (big surprise) and although is is a not a sporty car or anything like that, it just oozes character. why? can anyone doubt a full-size v8 powered land yacht has "pressence" on the road? toyotas just completely lack any character, just do just one thing, get you down the road invisibly and blandly. they just cannot appeal to one's emotions (unless toyota owners are emotionless robots). current domestic cars i would say that have charracter (or "soul") would be: corvette (is there any doubt?) mustang (see above) fusion (and its siblings, especially after the 3.5 and awd comes out) focus (really a great driving little sh*tbox) gt pt cruiser (although i don't care for them, they do appeal to their owners emotions) 300m wrangler viper cadillac cts, sts, escalade, xlr now i challenge anyone to find a single toyota that belongs on this list. xb? not a chance. around here in ne ohio only old folks seem to buy them (wasn't the demographic toyota was looking for). corrolla? YAWN!!! yaris? a turd in the making (and btw, what the f*ck is a "yaris"?) their suv's? again, YAWN!!!
  11. yea!!! the end of another overrated honda!!! that needs to be posted on all honda forums. not the first time i have heard of odysseys burning. good riddance.
  12. you are just having trouble accepting this.......... as it is the GOSPEL TRUTH!!! toyota has always built really good APPLIANCES, not good CARS! name me a truely cool toyota (that is agreed by many, not by your obviously biased opinion). maybe, just MAYBE, the last gen, supra. the last gen celica? turd. ANY of their trucks? uh, yea right. scions? come back in a couple years after the scion product line get stale (and that i guarantee will happen).
  13. you seem surprised. what do expect from a ragazine from kalifornia?
  14. >quote:DaimlerChrysler spokesman Max Gates said the automaker was >aware of nine reported engine fires. He said there have been no >reports of crashes, injuries or property damage what, they don't consider the car as property? it is if i'm making the payments on it. besides, anyone that buys one with that sludge motor deserves it.
  15. don't count on it. judging from what i have read about owner's experiences with the dealers and with toyota i hink the damage is well on its way to being done. i detect more than a bit of arrogance at toyota.
  16. a local kia dealer had a deal going last year, buy a sadona minivan and get a rio for free. probably scared alot of potential customers away.
  17. haven't seen a single one on the roads around cleveland. in my humble opinion, it is the new crowned king of all ugly vehicles, WAY uglier than the aztek ever dreamed of. first time someone backs into me with one i will sue toyota for making a s**tbox with such an awful blind spot. it not as if very many people actually know how to back up as it is.
  18. i don't think the prowler's looks were an issue, it was the powertrain. a wussy mitsu v6? get real.
  19. yea!!!! 'bout time that stupidity ended. now, if we can just stop the production of fartpipes........
  20. .5 percent? must be that the .5 percent are the ones posting their issues on the toyota message boards, hmmmm? betcha it's way more than that when it's all said and done.
  21. shoot, i treat my workbeater 91 grand marquis (with 230k and counting-original trans) as hard as any cop treats a crown vic. no failures. zero.i don't care how hard you are on your g6 but 53k with a trans failure is absolutely inexcusable. period. no exceptions. that being said, for the most part gm has very reliable transmissions.
  22. i learned that lesson in a brand new 84 tempo. darn thing didn't like reverse rollbacks.
  23. fords good for 80k? maybe in you little dream world. my brother maintains a 99 f350 s/d with over a half-million miles on it, and the only major failure was the water pump at 350k. it also has a e4od trans that has had nothing but fluid changes. there are an awful lot of ford trucks out ther with way over 300k on them, just take yor pro-gm blinders off. now, as for superhigh mileage jap trucks, yea right. around here in the rust belt they might make 100k before the body falls off.
  24. and you are grieving for the neon.......................... why? only shame they aren't trashing more neons.
