  1. Only 42mpg? No manual option? So far I'm not interested, I'd buy the Eco over this. Shame, I had some high hopes.
  2. Would be nice to have a standard wireless connection for smartphones & tablets to connect to an external touchscreen. Then buy the car with built in touchscreen, and be able to just connect your device. No more built-in outdated NAV. But of course they can't keep it that simple, cuz they'd be worried you'll play Angry Birds while driving, so there would have to be oodles of complex safety systems involved, etc...
  3. Perhaps they could consider a travelling vette for the smaller dealers? 2 weeks at a dealer, then hitch a ride with the next car hauler to another dealer for a couple weeks. After a couple months, get a 'vette for another couple weeks.
  4. It's good to see it come down, and I think we all knew it would happen, but don't expect drastic reductions in cost over multiple generations. This is not an iPod or LCD TV, this is electric motors, batteries, and a car - none of those are new tech.
  5. Did anyone else have to Google "Acura ILX" to even know what this car was? Somehow I'd never heard of it. Perhaps that's part of the problem?
  6. The tails at one angle made me think Dodge, and at another angle looked like they were traced right off an Aston Martin. Still, I think they need to move away from the big light bar, if for no other reason than to try something new when what they're doing isn't selling cars. I think the grill works well, and the vehicle overall looks unique and interesting. I'm not sure it's a home run, but it's good.
  7. I mostly drive my '98 Suburban (one stalk) and Saturn S-Series (2 stalk). I'm not sure I really have a preference, though I wish the Saturns had a couple more intermittent settings (3 intermittent + low + high). I do think they can go overboard on the number of settings, though. To throw out another design for consideration, how about the wiper control used in the 2nd gen Beretta / Corsica? Blue knob to the right of the instrument cluster:
  8. Aside from some issues with the photoshop itself (the grill is pretty screwed up), it looks decent, but not spectacular. Seems like an evolution of the design, and I think the Escalade is hurting from image issues (or very soon will be). It's no longer fresh, and too many of the older ones I see now are beat and driven by folks that really don't help the premium image.
  9. I disagree, I see it in the raised sections on either side of the hood.
  10. At least for me, curves on a car can be sexy, or they can remind of an overweight person. This is mostly doing the second of those for me. Sorry, not a fan.
  11. I agree, it's not bad at all. I find the styling line & 2-tone on the bottom middle & rear interesting, and wonder how the car would look in some different 2-tone color combos with that line.
  12. Am I the only one that is a bit iffy about this? While I see some value in it, I'd rather see each brand have a different interior that's REALLY well done, but not go to the extent of different interiors for the full size trucks vs SUVs. Doubling the number of interiors to design runs the risk of spreading talent and resources thinner, and resulting in more, but not as well thought out interiors.
  13. I still think they lost something special they had with the first generation of hybrid pickups - generator function. They had 3-prong outlets in the bed, and could be used as an emergency or construction site generator. That's a lot of extra utility to make the extra cost worthwhile. The first gen didn't get as much of a fuel economy bump, but it also didn't carry as much of a price bump. Perhaps if this function were available on the 2-mode, it'd be an easier sell.
  14. Sounds like it could be a contender among the EVs, though I'm not sure the EVs are going to win out. $25k after rebates is still a lot of money for such a small car.
  15. Some neat bits to it, but as a whole it doesn't work well at all.
  16. I think you mean "affluent"
  17. Were you using it for this post?
  18. If I were getting a phone soon, I'd be looking very intently at the Razr HD Maxx. Second choice would probably be the GS3.
  19. I agree - the dealer franchise system is hardly something to avidly protect. Let it be challenged so it will adapt. The consumer wins.
  20. Neon sounds like a perfect candidate for a 4-bolt repair. 1. Undo 4 lugnuts 2. remove wheel 3. replace everything behind the wheel (aka, the entire car)
  21. I'd rock one. I see it as more of a cruiser than anything, and for that purpose some flex and lack of power aren't an issue.
