GM Cuts Sticker Prices to Provide Even More Value
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to a topic in General Motors
Sounds like better pricing, more to where they should be, such as in the case of the Chevrolet Cobalt LS and more or less, Buick Lucerne. That LaCrosse CXS is still way too high, considering a much nicer, more desirable Lexus ES330 is like $32,000. -
LOL! That regular cab looks tiny! The point of redesigned models is to OUT-DO each other in size! Hopefully I'm wrong but I saw no space behind those doors! And that Dodge Ram I was in was massively wide-something the GM trucks, last I sat in, were not.

Chevrolet Announces Pricing On All-New Tahoe
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to Derek77's topic in General Motors
Isn't Dodge Durango lower in price? And with more room? The 3LT and LTZ are not necessary for Chevrolet (unless LTZ is a mere performance/appearance package) because they will overlap with the similar GMC Yukon Denali (which should also be dropped) and Cadillac Escalade. -
The Yaris sedan looks like a smaller Corolla-it looks better than Corolla (which is bland and ugly)-but its still a little big for a subcompact (they're all getting near or at compact-size-what's the world coming to?) I bet like many Corolla's do, Yaris, like Echo, will appeal to elderly people who don't like big cars, but rather tall, awkward (though thankfully less so) small Toyotas with bland and cheap-looking and feeling grey interiors. On the other hand, that red S sedan looks nice and I bet it will do far better than Echo.

Loving the Cocoa Metallic (thought it was Taupe) color and the interior! Except of course, for that el cheapo dated steering wheel from the Tahoe-its just got to go. Exterior-trying to think of what it reminds me of-looks a tad awkward initially, but overall with the 270(!!)hp 3.6-liter DOHC High Feature V-6 engine, a nice-looking (looking and being as we know are two entirely separate things) interior and more, I think this will finally reign over Chrysler Pacifica, and surely will over Mercury Magellan (Freestyle).

That's still a strange-looking, very un-Dodgelike (and not in a good way) car that doesn't disguise the fact that Dodge is clueless when it comes to what they're doing. I mean that year-plus delay between Intrepid and Charger was inexcusable-they should've had the Charger or whatever ready so that the unnoticed/unadvertised/average Stratus wasn't the largest sedan in the lineup. Vehicles like Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix, and Chevy HHR may be popular, but there is no excuse that a conventional 4-door notchback sedan (and other body styles) should be missing from the lineup. The taillamps don't look very Dodge, neither does the windshield/roofline sloping ahead of the front doors, along with the wheel opening/front end/flat, odd grille area. And why is a 1.8-liter engine offered in this car? It will be weak I predict, ditto that for the 2.0-liter I-4. I imagine this will sell, but its comprimised.

Those sales figures suck-I guess the public agrees with me in that those minivans are garbage and the worst ones out there-whoever made that bright decision to release those atrocities should be fired.

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/5411/aspena9ad.jpg Okay-looking, a bit square in front, and only necessary because Jeep screwed up by not making the ugly, boxy Commander full-size. I don't see the need for a Chrysler SUV above Pacifica-only if Imperial became a luxury marque and offered a full-lineup, and then only would I find it acceptable. Basically, it looks like it will compete with GMC Yukon and to a lesser extent, the Mercury Mountaineer.

Not bad looking, but I hope they do it right this time-no more 4-cylinder engines, no more black bumpers, no more cheap interiors (which they actually shed for the 2001 redesign, more or less), and lower the price on the Grand Caravan SXT! And no more dated V-6 engines! Offer the 3.5-liter SOHC H.O. 255hp V-6 (I know, its 250 now), and the 275hp 4.0-liter HEMI V-6 engines-that's it! SE, SXT, and ES trim levels, make them sporty!

Sky Prices and standard features!
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to avant1963's topic in Heritage Marques
Oh I thought Chili Pepper Red was a different hue for some reason-that 74U code is Victory Red (red-orange, non-metallic), and in GMC's case, Fire Red (a good one to apply for Pontiac's). -
Agreed Sciguy-GMC last I checked was a TRUCK division, not a car division. Its a shame they're stooping to Jeep's historically low-level of offering car-based crossovers for GMC TRUCK. Switch Acadia to Chevy ASAP! And kill the Pontiac Torrent, unless you're going to Pontiacize it and give it a lowered sport suspension and Aztek-like fastback roofline, standard on all models. Otherwise send it to Buick, or kill it like the dog it is in unnecessary Pontiac form.

Malbu gets another new steering wheel design
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to CadillacCTS's topic in Chevrolet
Here's an idea: how about a steering wheel that actually looks like a 2007 one-and not one GM should've put in circa 1997. Do what Grand Prix does-integrate the stereo controls INTO the steering wheel, not around-its just so dated looking! -
Not bad, I'd say they're right on the money-for a Toyota at least-now where's that revived Chevy Blazer to rival this and Nissan Xterra, and Dodge Nitro in the revived-popularity truck-based compact SUV class?

Oh let's see....cheap, poorly done, not-roomy-enough interiors, rear window goes overhead of the rear seat on most Pontiac's (G6, Grand Prix), not enough standard equipment for the ghastly high prices on most models, formerly optional equipment no longer available on certain models, ABS being optional where it used to be standard (and shamefully unavailable on Aveo SVM-I feel sorry for those poor people), too-large exterior dimensions on Cobalt, W-Bodies (save for Impala), etc. Cloth and vinyl interiors still on full-size vans (the only way a 2006 vehicle should have any remote business with a cloth/vinyl interior is if you're a cargo van or a work-truck trim pickup or a cop car/taxi THAT'S IT!). Mediocre, watered-down (by the gallons) exterior styling/design from what was considered (i.e. G6) or from concept car potential (all Buicks among others), synthetic fake cloth (Saturn ION and VUE, Chevy Cobalt/Malibu/Maxx/Equinox/Uplander), all CSV's (everything about them all except for Uplander's grille), the useless as-is Pontiac Torrent (all the same features and styling except for an awful Pontiac grille-yet with a much higher ending price), 4-speed automatic transmissions, dated engines (3800 V-6, plus the High Value engines should never ever have been developed), the 3.2-liter and 3.6-liter DOHC High Feature V-6 engines are either MIA (3.2) or detuned and not used on more vehiclesa (3.6).

Sky Prices and standard features!
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to avant1963's topic in Heritage Marques
Thanks for posting the colors GMTruckGuy74! I'll have to take a look on the site myself-that Chili Pepper Red sounds hot too. And how about a Sky Green Line? Combine the VUE Green Line's powertrain onto a hot sports car, and whaddaya get? -
That GMC sub-Theta (I'll refer to it as "Gypsy"), looked nice, but GMC doesn't need any other cars for its truck division-keep them at Chevy or if you really must, Buick could use some premium, appealing vehicles. The Envoy still looks nice inside and out, but the TrailBlazer interior needs a re-do and needed one ever since it was introduced for 2002-too much "sea of cheap black plastic" on that dashboard.

List of debuts for NAIAS from Autonews
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to Northstar's topic in Other Auto Shows
The Reflex is the....(forgot how the song goes).... Anyway, nice looking front end-I don't like the rear Chrysler Firepower-like window rise-up-one of many things that turned me off from that concept car last year, but the Reflex looks nice-is it Fiesta-based? -
Sky Prices and standard features!
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to avant1963's topic in Heritage Marques
Nice pricing and equipment! I like this Sky a lot-I can't wait to see it outand get some info on it-now, what are the colors? I was flipping through my calendar I got a while back, and I know they have Cool Grey (what most people are deluded to think is silver, but its really not), Coastal Grey (aka Stealth Grey/Blue Granite/Slatestone), Yellow, Lime Green-there's 4, now what's the other 5? -
Yeah that Challenger is way too long, and its styling much too retro I think. If they had down a Viper-style side swoop and stolen its front end, then the Challenger would be a much better looking vehicle-and chop it to 110" wheelbase, and even then that's a stretch, let alone 113 or 116" versions. Its just inefficient and appropriate for a Charger sedan, not a Challenger or even a mid-size rear-drive Mopar (note that the B-Bodies until 1991 had a 116.0" wheelbase and they were roomy large cars, yet still had the familiar rear-drive look to it, with space between the front wheel opening and leading edge of the front doors).
-
I'm with you there-I'd like to sit in a Sonata, and I am starting to see a fair number of them (and Fusions, but few Milans), but there's no local Hyundai or Mercury dealers-not in or near town anyway. The Malibu sales are definitely undeservedly high-its a mediocre car at best with subpar cargo room, too-short exterior dimensions (especially width and wheelbase), poor equipment to price ratio, and the V-6 either optional or unavailable on models where it used to be standard, and outdated, weak engines at that.
-
Yeah I'm surprised that was unveiled in Motor Trend first and not online-saw it last night-great issue. That Imperial sucks-what's wrong with Mopar design? First the awkward Caliber, then the sleek, but too-retro Challenger concept, and now this worse, cheapened interpretation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, which if anyone should be imitating, should be Lincoln. In fact, it looked so much like the Phantom, I thought it WAS one, but with a custom grille and the Chrysler wing logo. Anyone remember the 1998 Chronos concept? Morph that with the 2003 Airflite concept-that would be the ideal Imperial, and then separate it as a brand and go after Cadillac CTS/STS/SRX, Infiniti G35/M35/45 and FX35/45, etc. Thank God its not some awful, wrong-time, boxy K-Car-my grandpa had a 1991 model of that disgrace of a car.

Production Dates For ALL GMT-900s + Others
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to CadillacCTS's topic in Chevrolet
Wait-I thought the big Daewoo was supposed to be the Statesman rebadge from Holden? Are they getting a slightly stretched Epica or something? And what's the point? There's already 3 fully capable large cars on an aging platforms-they're called the Chevrolet Impala, Buick Lucerne, and Cadillac DTS.
