  1. I'm glad the small RWD platform is taking shape. A RWD vehicle doesn't always have to be a gas hog.
  2. Not useful for you, but apparently, there is a huge list of companies signed up for this baby because it would further streamline the development process of whatever they produce. Clearly, the introduction of the Microsoft "Surface" so soon after Sony unveiled the flexible LCD is no coincidence. Microsoft unveiled it to steal Sony's thunder and it will work since it is production ready tech as opposed to a concept tech that is still quite a few years away from being available to the public or anyone for that matter. Getting off topic.. damn is it hot today. 93 degrees where I live and I can't remember it being so hot so early in the summer in my area.
  3. Then why were you asking about the radio code?
  4. I'm not debating whether or not the newer Hondas have nicer interiors.. In fact, I've sat in a 2004 Honda Accord and was amazed at how nice that interior was compared to its rivals at that time. I was refering to the 2003 Honda CRV. (Sorry it took me a little while to respond to this)
  5. Are you asking how to find the code to get online? If so.... Go into your car or use your handheld XM device and go to channel 0 or 1(I can't recall off the top of my head but it's right near the beginning of the list of channels) and the code will be displayed on the screen. Copy that down and type it into the XMradio online sign in and it will access your account and you'll be signed up.
  6. It does actually have a somewhat large stake in the company. But this is actually pretty old news. Have been using the online service since 2004.
  7. It's a good looking vehicle but the headlights are going to need an update very soon in order to look current.
  8. Now come on guys, he may have been a bigot, racist, homophobe, asshole but can you at least wait a couple of weeks before you start with the the bashing. Monsters have family too.
  9. Alright, now correct me if I'm wrong but I came to believe that the new Aura is going to be on an extended Epsilon II platform while the Vectra(Insignia) will be based off the shorter one that and shared with the new Saab 9-3. I'm beginning to wonder if there was any truth to that factoid because this does look to be a decent sized vehicle that they could build here as-is under the Saturn brand. Something that's larger might be too big for the Aura.
  10. No offense, but this thread is pointless. Why are we complaining about an engine cover when it's something that most people in the general public hardly ever see? The only people who should be complaining are the auto mechanics who have to pry these things off the engine block every time they need to change oil, do routine maintenance, etc. I think there are a lot of other things we can complain about.
  11. The interior is fine in my opinion. In fact, I like it a lot. If only my lease ended later in the year. Then, I might've been able to trade the Grand Am in for this baby. To show those who don't understand why I like the interior. Let me show you what I've had to look at everyday for the past 3 years: Soooooo beautiful eh? GM's finest.
  12. Well.. Kudos to GM for even considering it. For a domestic automaker, it was an extremely risky(or stupid, depending on your opinion of the solstice and sky) to devote time and money to two niche vehicles. It's easy to see that when designing the vehicles, they were focusing more on style over substance and that clearly worked for them especially Saturn which had a ton of new products to back it up. When the next generation comes out, they'll have no excuse when it comes to trunk space and drop-top tech and overall practicality. They have a perfect vehicle to help lead them in the right direction: The Corvette. So it's not like a cheap, class-leading, entry-level roadster is unattainable. On the saab chop, I think a roadster is the last thing Saab needs at the moment and I doubt GM would actually consider sending this into production until they boost the brands volume to a decent level first.
  13. The Edge maybe, I don't know exactly since I've never sat in one, but not the GMT900s and certainly not the Lambdas. Unless you've sat in each GM SUV including the Enclave which isn't even out yet, I doubt the CR-V interior is better. Best in class? Absolutely, but not best out there in the entire SUV field. I've sat in all of the GMT900s including the Escalade and sat in the Saturn Outlook at a recent autoshow and was very impressed. The Edge just looks cheap.. even if it isn't. It's the CTS-effect. Again, I have to disagree with you. A friend of mine has a 2003 CR-V. Not the best quality interior and certainly drab looking. Can't say I like the placement of the radio nor the quality of the HVAC/Radio buttons. Best non- Land Rover & Mercedes SUV interior from 2002-2005 would have to be the Lexus RX-330 hands down. I've been in one quite a few times and it was easily the best looking and highest quality. Land Rover and Mercedes are excluded since they're in a class all their own.
  14. Agreed. Sure, they have those there to keep the screen out of direct sunlight but you'd think that if Cadillac can use a system on in the STS and Escalade that changes the angle of the display screen with the flip of a switch without when it's sunny out, that Honda could easily do something like that too. It would make the interior look a hell of a lot better.
  15. Actually, he's right. On Top Gear they tested it and it was faster then the Zonda... much to their surprise. Here's the video. Start at the 9 minute mark to get the results right away. TOP GEAR TESTS Z06
  16. There is no PR shot. Just the photoshop and the other photos of the new platform mule with a 9-7x body. The key word here is platform.
  17. I'm already aware that the 9-4x and the upcoming Cadillac BRX are based off a heavily modified Theta platform but I thought they were going to be on the small side. I guess not from the length of the wheel base. I'm also surprised they used the Saab 9-7x body on top of that platform in what appears to be Europe(the opel gives it away in case you were wondering). You'd think GM people would try to prevent automotive photographers from noticing it with using a vehicle that is actually sold in Europe like the actual Trailblazer. A conspiracy to get people interested? Possibly. Or maybe they just don't care.
  18. Sooo Sexy! Things may be bad in India now for GM, but I guarantee you in a few years or at least shortly into the next decade, the vehicles there will reflect what GM shanghai has done in recent years. What I mean by that is the vehicles will not only be new, but will be styled to reflect Indian tastes. As opposed to now where they just use old vehicles and platforms and slap a Chevy badge on it. India is one of several emerging economies that is really going to take off soon. Because of that, the cars will reflect that growth.

Also, he considered the GT to be more British then anything since it is based off the British Designed/Engineered GT-40 racecar from the 60s. He even said so himself.

I heard from a very "serious" source that the next-gen Acadia will be based on the Kappa platform and will get up to 8,000 mpg... but it doesn't run on gas. It runs on happiness and self-awareness. On top of that, it will be fashioned after the Flintstones family vehicle from the hit reality television series of the same name. TOP THAT!
  22. Took you a little long to respond huh Oldsmoboi? I agree though. It will definetely be "pwn"ed by the MCE of the Cobalt and the new Astra and every other new vehicle in the compact segment. Ford of North America deserves for it to do poorly when they could've kept the Focus as the global car it once was and introduced the next-gen focus world-wide. Sure, I'm beating a dead horse when I say this, but they could've stripped it down for North American consumers and to keep it competitively priced they wouldn't be in so much trouble today.
  23. Which is probably what GM was going for. What's the best way to phase out a vehicle without losing sales. Give them a reason to stop buying it. I wouldn't be surprised if current STS owners flock over to the revised CTS since that is what GM has been planning to do if I'm not mistaken. But come on! The STS should get better treatment then this.
  24. It's refreshing to see a US car company introduce a new minicar let alone three. Seems like the Gamma platform is going to be GM's new shining star. I can't wait. This will grab some serious points with the Asian/European auto community and environmentalists who blame GM for all the problems in the world.
  25. Absolutely. Infiniti certainly did a good job with this.
