  1. Not to sound rude or anything, but what is the point of this post?
  2. I don't think GM intentionally made too few Solstices on purpose. Hydroforming of the body panels is a lengthy process and unless GM diverts more man hours and factory space to the solstice, they'll keep the same pace.
  3. It went from $3.19 to $3.89 here within a couple of hours. This should be the least of our worries though. People are in some really dire conditions down in Gulf. Let's worry about them instead.
  4. GM should advertise the hell out of their fuel-efficiency now. I noticed driving by a chevy dealership that they moved all the cobalts, aveos, and HHRs up to the front of the lot and moved the Trucks far to the back. Good idea.
  5. Maybe it's good that GM isn't building too many flashy cars like the 300 that go out of style within a couple of years. They took the Toyota route and it seems to be working. Build conservative cars with high quality, decent pricing, and safe road manners. It may not be a good thing for automotive enthusiasts but in the long haul, you don't have to worry about huge sales decreases which I'm sure Chrysler will start experiencing within a year or so when the 300's style gets stale and gas prices go through the roof. Doesn't anyone wonder why Toyota, Honda, or Ford aren't rushing full-sized RWD sedans under their bread-and-butter brands? Because most people in the US prefer FWD. Why? FWD is historically much easier to drive in all types of weather conditions and it's always going to have a large consumer base. The RWD "Craze" is simply that. It's just a trend and lots of people seem to go back to FWD especially when they start having families or get older. I'm not being discriminatory. It's just common sense. The future really relies with AWD sedans. If you look at the future line-ups for Toyota, Honda, Ford, and even GM; you'll see that they are preparing.
  6. I doubt they'll ever put it into production now with gas prices so high. :(
  7. I'm not surprised with this article and I love how people on websites like autoweek say the solstice looks ugly. They're scared out of their wits that GM, an American auto maker can make such a beautiful drivers car and sell it at an extremely competitive price. The best they can do is make up ridiculous statements.
  8. Well, I looked back on the lounge section and noticed there were no Katrina posts. If there were, my fault. Anyway. What does everyone think about this horrible disaster that seems to be getting worse everyday? Does anyone here affected or know someone who was affected by storm? I think it's horrible that so many people had died when many of those deaths could've been prevented but I think no one realized how bad this was going to be. Your thoughts...
  9. People can modify/order rhd versions of vehicles that are lhd for purposes such as mail/news paper delivery. Though it's rarely seen. I am assuming that's what the person bought or modifed the car for.
  10. From what all the auto companies are saying, I believe that the first hydrogen vehicle for all consumers won't be available until after 2010 or 2015. Right now, the technology is just too expensive and until gasolene is priced at $20 a gallon, there's no real hurry to put this on the road.
  11. Hmmm.. I didn't think it was possible to make the Rav4 more bland. Of course, it will be a best seller just because it's a toyota.
  12. I don't think so. I believe the Terraza and Montana will be discontinued while the Relay and Uplander will continue. Honestly, I don't think Saturn should even get a minivan especially if GM is planning for it to move upscale. GM should devote it's minvan resources to Chevy alone. I do think Saturn deserves a sport van like this though since it's much cooler and would be a great competitor to the Mazda 5.
  13. I think now that everyone's starting to worry about gas prices, this program will be dropped. Also, I would guess that the next H2 will probably have significant improvements to fuel efficiency and possibly make full time 4WD an option. They'll need to do this to keep the H2 alive. I remember reading that GM is going to put a diesel in the H2 and possibly the H3 but I think the hybrid technology will trickle down to the brand as well.
  14. You just know that this will be the main "problem" when the tahoe comes out with the critics. They'll completely overlook any of the good qualities of the vehicle and complain that GM is copying 5 year old designs from other companies and that GM is doomed. Blah blah blah. Having said that, I really don't see the similiarites between the new Tahoe and the QX4 or the Highlander. It looks distinctly chevrolet.
  15. I see srx/sts headlamps under there. I don't know what to think of the more rounded off look.
  16. Wow. I don't know what to say. Having the site back is definately helpful. I just got called for jury duty and I had blood drawn today. Both things I'm not fond of. This helps dull the pain.
