malibu and legacy are both good cars. i would take either of them, but the malibu has more charisma. there is no shame with the malibu as a choice. congrats!

personally LaCrosse is fine because the new version is so attention getting. I would have preferred Insignia for the Regal, but I guess Regal is ok. I think to introduce a compact Buick and give it the Regal name would have been an interesting twist for me, but since its the Regal in China...... Verano and Encore quite honestly are pukey and dumb. Encore I can see the play on words to Enclave, but imagine the confusion with customers. Verano, yeah I'll have a Mocha Verano please? Idiots. that's so freaking stuffy white person. Skylark in 2009 sounds hilariously lame. Please leave that one in the books.

Audi is no longer a style leader. its design themes are beyond stale. there is not a single audi that is stunning these days, aside from the R8.

If GM packages a version of the Regal properly, it can majorly gain some of the attention of Passat / CC buyers. that involves, however, a decent 4 popp turbo. 220hp will not cut it. MT must be an option available. A turbo 4 pot Regal with MT at 3-4 cheaper than equivalent CC could make waves in the market. It could even grab a few A4 buyers i think.

melodicrock should have the winger album review up soon. to me, i love winger 'in the heart of the young' but i think winger was more of a producer creation than the band being good on its own. "can't Get Enuff" is one of the tunes I still turn up to 11 in the car to get a throbbing bass fix, which is a lot easier to do now with Ford Sync. 'play artist winger' Danger Danger? their first album is a complete classic! they have a new CD right now actually, but the soundbytes didn't resonate with me immediately.. i will have to give it more time. I will prob get the Kiss CD after i listen to some soundbytes. did you like Survivor? I just got Jimi Jamison 'Crossroads Moment' in the mail today, and I gotta tell you, its 80's done well. I had heard the new Foreginer was mellow but still good. You might like Crossroads Moment if you like that. I actually liked the last Foreiger album prior, back in 94 or whatever.....cant even remember the name of it. Song on it 'white lie'. decent CD.

tough call. the colorado will prob hold up better. funny, i saw an ad today for a used 2 dr jeep cherokee, mid nineties vintage. looked pristine in the pic. 2 grand! if you are talking real out the door cash, you can probably get into a NITRO cheaper than the patriot these days.......

2 years ago (or was it three) i purchased a black and a brown pair of lands end comfort mocassins....or whatever they call them. my primary shoes. WHEN i was working of course i wore dress shoes daily which is why my feet felt stressed probably. the lands end shoes are holding up exceptionally well although my guess is the wet winter will do them in this year. the soles are still wearing quite well and are not cracked. this summer i found 2 pair of clarks shoes on clearance at JCP. one black with laces, the other brown slip ons, reg 80 bucks for 33 a pair. i wear those to the bar and those semi occasions i go to church it up. unfortunately they are rather tight shoes, but they are nice well made shoes. i've wanted some doc martens for awhile now.

so it should sell then

ford offers a fusion manual. even if 5% take it ( i think its higher) and sales are say, 200k, that is enough to sell 10k. that's plenty. and that tranny is prob shared with someone else. and in other countries. the competitors do it. subaru offers a legacy 2.5GT with a stick the engine and tranny combo are exclusive. yet, they offer it. they won't even move 5k of those but they determined it was important to offer it and i guarantee you they are not losing money on it or they wouldnt do it. the whole point here that people are forgetting. they are saying 'buick never offered a manual'. yet, you don't get that buick in order to survive needs to demostrate that they are doing things different. old buick can not and will not be successful. buick is toast if they do not completely reinvent themselves. if you liked buicks of old, and don't want it to change, tough titty. things needs to change. at least one buick car should offer an MT. One cadillac should. right now the CTS does. when the ATS comes on it will be interesting to see if the CTS still does but at least one cadillac will have it. buicks compact should for sure if they want to steal sales from anyone relevent in mid to high priced compacts. in my opinion, the Regal needs to duke it out with these cars.....the Accord, Passat and CC, maxima, and prob TSX. On another level it will compete with loaded Camrys and Sonatas also. Chevys small offerings should have manuals offered and i think the Malibu should get a manual offering of some kind. It would have to not compete with Buick. Maybe malibu manual is non turbo and the Buick is a turbo 4. The Regal is the perfect car to stand in the company of the 9-3, Maxima, CC/Passat, Accord/TSX IF IT IS PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO DO BATTLE. this requires performance engines and hardware. Most regals will sell with the four cylinder and 6 speed auto. this is fine. i would make sure the four cylinder has been bumped to 2.5 litres or more and has DI and can make 200hp. then, its simply offering a v6 with auto (the 3.6) placates the automatic fans. the 2.0t can be pumped up to 280hp as suggested and add a six speed. the 2.8t v6 is too heavy and not as well served as the NA 3.6. The 4 pot turbo and stick is an accepted perf combo with a manual trans that buyers in this company of car are familiar with. If GM wants credibility with these other nice cars then they have to stick their feet in the pool. I think the Regal with turbo and 6 speed would sell decently vs a passat or CC if the marketing is correct and its priced to move. an AWD v6 turbo regal in the vein of a true GNX would be like an R32 Golf, it would command major MSRP and VERY few of them would be built. Buick needs to establish brand cred again before they try to make a spine tingling halo model. they would best leave that as an aftermarket and tuner package....which quite honestly would create more buzz for the brand than if GM tried to market it themselves. I still wonder if it makes more sense to leave this as the insignia anyways. i would imagine interior fit and finish in the opel version is fantastic. i bet whatever gets built on this side of the pond suffers in all ways. plastic and leather quality will be downgraded, fit and finish will get sloppy. things that are taut and precise will get cheap, sloppy and loose. that has as much to do with how buick will be perceived as anything. if the interior can't be somewhat compared to a common VW or basic Audi, then Buick is effed regardless how they equip the car.

2010 Mercedes E350 Coupe at the Georgian College Autoshow
regfootball replied to !!!TED!!!'s topic in Mercedes-Benz
yeah well the malibu wpbharry edition has a pretty killer swoosh on the rear fenders too that seemingly evoke the same thing that classic mercedes also does not have that terrible sliver of a window in the back seat like this new one does. -
http://melodicrock.com/reviews/reviews.html Melodicrock.com gives can't slow down a good review (the kiss also). Lita Ford he was not even close to kind to.

well, Lou has been through hell, and now really is only half the vocalist he was. I saw Foreigner with him at a casino like 10 years ago and his voice was toast back then. Foreigner is one of my all time fave bands. That said, I really haven't listened to much of anything since Kelly Hansen joined. For the record, I thought the one album they did with Johnny Edwards was pretty good. I did like Hansen in Hurricane. I think he has developed a following of his own with Foreigner. I heard this album sold well its first week out of the gate. I will have to listen to it. Mick Jones really is the heart of the sound, but Lou's vocals set them apart. But I think the band lineup the way it is now makes more sense then trying to have Lou Gramm kill all the songs. Do you have the new Kiss album too?

2010 Mercedes E350 Coupe at the Georgian College Autoshow

the car looks ok i guess but has a certain HYUNDAIness to it. like a 2 door azera. or the next sonata. plus the side swooshes sort of like the last 2 gens of impala and the last gen malibu. -
yeah, but they don't need crash standards in China. this car had better have the 2.0 260hp turbo and 6 speed manual as an option. in that regard its a nice option vs a passat CC

instead of 'hood' wear that the -cough- fast and furious / japanese car folks wear?

yes. as to the infiniti being classified in the same breath as the BMW, um, no. maybe if you were honda type rice fan and one who normally bought that kind of car would you see a G37 coupe as a real replacement for a corvette. now the Z car is a different deal. that car is legit. i know, same car. but the Z car is not a poser car. and even then, the 350z try as hard as it can, is not up to capability of the corvette. the current engineering of the corvette has at least 5 years in it I feel. the next corvette needs to accomodate more innovative construction and all wheel drive. i would not rush it to market to placate some demographic. the current cars engineering is fine enough for now and just needs a cosmetic reskin (although a quite noticable one) and it needs an absolutely fantastic interior deserving of an aspirational car. let the camaro serve the up to 38, 39k price market. but i would sell most corvettes in the 42-48k OTD price range. this keeps the value up on the Z06 and other special editions. that price compares favorably to the BMWs and the stupid infinitis. GM would be surprised how well the vette would be regarded if it had even a 2010 GTI level interior at a minimum. what it needs are driver interface (seat wheel gauges shifter) on par with German cars, and enough tech options to make you blind. then, just simply have an attractive design with good materials and construction. GM ignores all this stuff typically. GO look at a new lacrosse. the design is ok. the interior still has cheap plastic and cheap leather and seats that are not sculpted very well. i think GM could breathe new life into the corvette by offering a twin turbo dohc v6. i would offer that now to set it up for the next gen car as well.
-
idiot. gm needs to give the vette a new interior with top tech and good seats. then, i would give the exterior a reskin. then, i think they need to market and promote more basic versions of the car. for example, sort of the harley sportster approach. a well equipped corvette with style and flair for a great value. is that about the low 40's right now? Too many corvettes have LaNeve (i.e. inflated) sticker prices.
