  1. 36 mpg combined. that's not too far off the Prius now, is it?
  2. its not just mitsubishi pulling that, sat. one of the chevy dealers (Gould, monticello, MN) here is right now running a promotion.....buy or lease a silverado and get a free cobalt to use for 2 years as well. radio ads all over the sports radio station. NOT the only time they've run that type of promotion either. Buy a pickup get a cobalt or Aveo free has been run in the past. try again
  3. the linear is in the ballpark pricewise. the 9-3 has begun to look dull to me, inside and out and is smaller than a real midsize. the v6 turbo is too pricey. the aura is about as close as it gets now, except no stick with V^ and I'd not prefer Chrome on the trim. Plus, the interior is a bit overdone and has a cheap GM center stack.
  4. 07 altima interior does not enthuse me and looks a little cheeseball. the styling is too similar and in some ways exactly like the current alt and maxima.
  5. ROTFLMAO!!!! exactly. the new 'grand am'. college kids all over will be buyen um. all i would have to do is pick up one from the hertz near my house. they have like 6 of them and its a small rental outlet. sonatas camrys and corollas in greater abundance than Tauri.
  6. sonata bad interior, no manual, bland exterior (mostly the front end sucks). no sports suspension package. like so many others, its only 1/2 to 2/3 of the total package.
  7. don't forget: asshole Honda dealers too
  8. My aztek has yet even more space than the element, sounds like it has a tighter turning circle, and it gets 20/21 everyday like the element does. 40,000+ miles and no defects. seats 5. hauls plywood. nicer interior. cheaper. maybe GM was on to something? my point: the Element is successful in many ways but i don't think its 100% hit the mark in being the 'ideal' cargo hauler like this article would suggest and like some use as a basis for defending it. The FJ base is a huge advantage over the Element. I would go so far to say that a SWB Chysler Van would suit most people much better and for less money than an Element.
  9. according to my research last fall, you'll be lucky to get 20mpg consistently with an Element. So much for 'economy'. Its underpowered, so why the crappy gas mileage?
  10. agree. how do those dolts earn a living off writing so much crap?
  11. i think lienert will go high in the draft this weekend
  12. LOL, i see a lot of comparisons where someone says you can get a new plasma tv with your money saved......lots o folks want the plasma tv these days.
  13. i was struggling today to come up with any decent looking mid size to large sedan with a nice interior and great powertrain (and with available manual/v6 or v8) for working man's wages. there isn't any. either the styling sucks, or the interior sucks, or the engine sucks. even with all these choices, none of them jump out as obvious answers to the question a lot of folks ask. that the Honda in its mediocre styling but with nice interior has to win this title by default is disappointing.
  14. the black car will be coming to get you soon. watch out.
  15. right, we're not even talking SUV's here we're talking sedans.
  16. as opposed to a nasally strained vacuum cleaner sound at mid-high rpm
  17. AGAIN, DID YOU SIT IN ONE WITH THE GRAY COLOR AND CLOTH INTERIOR? IT'S NOT PRETTY, IT MIGHT HAVE SOME ADVANTAGE OVER THE MALIBU BUT NO SELF RESPECTING INDIVIDUAL WOULD WANT THAT OPTIMA WITH THE INTERIOR LIKE THAT
  18. its pontiac, that could well be the case!~
  19. yeah, those ARE sunfire rejects!
  20. edmunds owner reviews or fuel economy.gov are two places to find owner reports on what mpg they are actually getting.
  21. GRAPE NUTS cereal.....if that won't win you the BEST FARTS AWARD then i don't know what will. chow down about 3 bowls of that before bed then chase it in the morning with some maple brown sugar oatmeal and about 3 glasses of lukewarm milk and tell me if you like it!
  22. anyone ever trap their significant other's head under the blankie and let er rip?
  23. spend about 3-4 hours in the tweed office chair on C/G after eating a good bit of egg salad sandwiches and peas with a root beer or two or something nasty like that and then try to be able to stay in the room. or a nice waffle breakfast with lots of OJ and maple syrup, then chase it with a moosed coffee and see if you survive those 'sweet bloomers' all day. worst fart experience. my friend had a new chevy corsica fleet car and i met him to check it out. he had his new dog with, sitting in the back. The dog was a BIG dog. the dog had just eaten, some really bad leftovers. it was a good 85+ degrees / humid out. we were driving in the car and the dog started to light it up. my buddy thought he would make the most of the situation and turned off the air and make sure all the windows were closed. then, HE TURNED UP THE HEAT to maximum. the dog just kept lighting it up. my buddy locked the window switch. i almost hurled....honestly.
  24. have you sat in one yet? in gray with cloth its downright nasty
  25. "TONIGHT WE'RE GONNA PARTY LIKE ITS 19-99!"
